The best restaurants in Kildare

20/06/2025: Coffee is good but music is way too loud upstairs. Asked the staff to turn it down and they said they wouldn't. People don't come here for music, they come for coffee, chats and food. I assume it's just the staff who want the music up loud. If this changes I'll come back, and change my review. What a pity!

28/06/2025: Always loved breakfast here, arrived with confidence from previous experiences but our recent visit fell short, coffee was below par, burnt taste, poached eggs hard, and no condiments on tables, had to ask for salt twice.....granddaughter's raspberry lemonade was billed as a Raspberry Bellini.....not good , very disappointed and should be a lot better for the price charged

07/06/2025: We were very disappointed with the service we received today. Our family and my son's friends were excited to come and celebrate his best friend's birthday. We wanted the kids to have a fun and memorable day. We genuinely didn’t know the restaurant only opens at 5pm so we got there at 4:30pm, especially since we saw people already seated inside. It was very cold outside, and my son couldn’t stand the chill. If the issue was that we didn’t have a reservation, the staff could have simply explained it to us politely. Instead, we were told, “We open at 5 PM, don’t just come in and start moving the furniture,” which felt quite rude. The children were upset and ended up crying—this should have been a joyful celebration for them. We braved the rain and cold weather just to be there, only to leave with such disappointment. This was supposed to be a special day, but it turned out to be a really unpleasant experience.

24/05/2025: Worth a visit if on hunt for tasty wholesome veg and vegan food. Tasty chickpea curry 🍛

24/04/2025: This is a lovely little cafe with delicious wholesome vegan and vegetarian food which can be hard to find outside of Dublin. The coffees were also good. The staff are friendly and helpful. We ordered the pav bhaji and the falafel panini and both were tasty and a good portion size.

26/05/2025: Was there on Saturday, food and coffee was lovely but the 2 members of staff were so rude. No customer service, wouldn’t even look at us while we were ordering and then forgot about our food and coffee. Such a shame because it ended up tasting lovely!

26/05/2025: The sandwich and coffee were nice, mustard was also a nice touch. The girl serving us was incredibly rude and ignorant. The coffee shop was empty at this point and we were still waiting 15 minutes for the sandwich. I overheard one staff member say the sandwich was burnt, another staff member said "it was just a bit crispy". There was a smell of burning and she made another one to be fair to her (we were just waiting at the table but could over hear this, the burnt sandwich wasnt and issue etc it was more the carelessness of the staff, when I asked for the sandwich she hesitated and I asked if they were closing soon as it was no hassle if they were closing soon). As we waited the girl who took our order made a comment that we didnt get our coffees yet. Obviously not as we were the only customers sitting infront of her. She stood eating cookies from a tray that had just come out of the oven (they did smell quite nice). She also stood talking to her friends who called into the coffee shop and left after a few minutes. None of what has been mentioned above would be an issue if we had of been treated nicely. Its not often I leave a bad review and this review should isnt aimed at the business owners but staff cannot treat their customers like this. She was rude, very short with me when I asked for the sandwich and stood complaing to her friends about how busy they were all day. Completely fair but once again coming from someone who works in hospitality - dont act like this infront of customers, dont speak in a condescending tone and I expect that the respect I give should be returned. Once again - acting in this manner towards your customers has a knock on effect to how others percieve the business and ultimatley it is the business owners who suffer the brunt of this. This was the rudest encounter I have ever had with somebody serving me whether it be a restaurant, a pub or a coffee shop. My partner who was with me looked at me as our order was being taken in shock as to the tone the girl spoke to us in.

16/07/2025: We really enjoyed this place. Very nice people. Nearly everyone was super friendly and engaging. Leixlip may not be on the top of everyone's list of places to stay but it is a nice distance to the airport and the town is quite quaint.

12/07/2025: I lost the money for my booking. I booked one day too late by mistake via booking.com and then tried to change the date. The said that this is only possible via booking.com. But booking didn’t allow free cancellation. I then made a request via booking to exempt cancellation fee explaining I wanted to change the date but thy didn’t react at all. No my money is gone and they will have an empty room on the 17th of July. How stupid this is!

20/07/2025: Lovely food and loads of space. Really lovely pub/bar/restaurant. Cocktails weren't very well made for the price which was disappointing. Example prosecco was flat and pina colada just tasted like pineapple juice and had no proper blend of coconut cream. Was disappointing considering the extortionate price of them.

18/07/2025: Great spot for some quiet drinks, great food, lovely venue. The bingo Loco on Fridays is great craic for a bunch of friends to go to. The room out the back is great too, good bands and live music to be had. All round, a great pub 👍👌🍻

25/06/2025: Fletcher’s Bar is one of those places that just gets it right. It’s cosy, friendly, and full of character – a proper traditional pub that doesn’t try too hard, because it doesn’t need to. It’s dog friendly (always a win), and there’s a real laid-back vibe that makes you feel instantly welcome. The kind of spot where you can walk in on your own and end up chatting with someone at the bar like you’ve known them for years. Best of all? They serve Murphy’s – and not many places do these days. It’s poured perfectly and tastes just as it should. Just the place to take the dog after a walk, Fletcher’s ticks all the boxes. Can’t recommend it enough.

11/07/2025: An absolutely wonderful experience, I went for dinner with my brother and Rebecca was an absolutely fabulous server, incredibly friendly and quick to take and deliver our orders. The food and drinks were both high quality and very enjoyable. 10/10 would recommend and would visit again in the near future.

08/07/2025: It's a decent place, good food, a tad bit expensive but its worth a go. A shout out to Lucas, he was v pleasant and its due to him since he made efforts to provide a good experience that people want to come back.

05/06/2025: Had food there today 5/6/2025 & it was ok a little pricey for size of portions, does glutenfree food & that was nice, staff are lovely but place needs a good clean especially the toilets.....

30/05/2025: Absolutely great Indian cuisine experience, lovely service and delicious dishes, would recommend if you’re looking for a very nice dinner or lunch! Staff has done that extra ‘’ mile’’ to ensure customers satisfaction!
