10/04/2025: I recently stopped by The Castletown Inn in Celbridge for a refreshing Lucozade, and what a wonderful experience it was! This beautiful, authentic pub offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with stunning seating areas that make you feel right at home. The service was truly impressive, with friendly and attentive staff who ensured my visit was enjoyable from start to finish. Whether you're looking for a quick drink or a full meal, The Castletown Inn is a must-visit destination in Celbridge. Highly recommended for its charm and excellent service!

28/02/2025: A lovely local pub situated in the heart of rathcoole. Nice food and friendly staff.

08/12/2024: We had two of the specials and both meals were very poor. I had the Cajun salmon which was in a very strange sauce with no Cajun spices to taste. My husband had the burger in pepper sauce which was a tiny beef patty with very little sauce. He asked for extra sauce which they wanted to charge extra for. The meal was so disappointing with very small portions and will not be returning again.

07/06/2024: Dropped in here for some Sunday dinner lovely little pub with a restaurant staff are fantastic felt very welcomed! Food was fantastic definitely return visit on the cards 👍🏼

18/05/2024: I was at the hangedmans restraunt today with my family. As I was sitting down having our dinner I over heard a horrendous conversation with the owner of the restraunt. The owner was shouting at a woman from what I understood was not her fault at all as someone with her had canceled a booking, the owner then went on to tell the woman to f***off and to leave. Another man then came up to tell the owner that this wasn’t right or talk to a woman like that, and his response to the man was f*** off aswell, totally inexcusable behaviour and should not shout and use vulgar language to a woman. I said it to him when paying for our bill that I would be leaving this review as I was disgusted with his behaviour. Do not come here unless you want to be shouted at or abused for no reason. The owner is a horrid man

11/04/2025: Nice food but totally disorganised…. Waiting ages to even place an order Staff wandering around aimlessly….

11/04/2025: Although the food was good, and the place was nice, the service was super slow. It took a long time to order and a long time to get the food. One of the customers from the table next to us who was waiting to order went to the counter and complained and when he was told to wait more, he pointed to staff and said : these people are just hanging around. He left the cafe without ordering. We went from our office for lunch break but we won't go again because the time would exceed our usual lunch break due to the slowness

03/05/2025: I had the wonderful homemade soup and the brown bread which was also homemade and tasty. Chips were made fresh and I’m sure the ketchup was too. My husband had the spicy chicken wrap and my Son had the breakfast burrito which they really enjoyed also. Many thanks for a really tasty lunch

15/04/2025: We went in to get some food, when we arrived in there was one table free which a waitress was cleaning, as I am six months pregnant I went to sit down while my partner ordered, the waitress cleaning the table was friendly and greeted me with small talk. However, the person serving at the counter shouted across the entire full cafe that I could not sit down, the table was for someone else- There was no reserved sign, the waitress cleaning never said anything to me when I sat down, all she had asked was had I ordered which I told her my partner was doing. We have been here before and I have, as I did that day sat down as my partner ordered our food, however on this occasion we left absolutely mortified as a result of the hostility and attitude of the server.

27/04/2025: On Easter Monday, as the midlands were predicted to have sunshine, we decided to have lunch in Fureys before a stroll along the canal. We normally drop in on our way west to visit family for a quick bite.. the latest reviews were appalling, and no owner feedback... so we booked a table and when we arrived gently made this point. We had an excellent large chowder, shared as a starter; and then a chicken and beef burger, diy assembly, no complaints. So in my view, the negative reviews are unjust, but as we told the staff, the management's lack of response is more damaging than the poor reviews. PS - if you walk on the west towpath, there is no crossing at the aqueducts as the steps down to the road are closed off

25/04/2025: On a recent trip to Fureys, where we had ate the previous weekend in a group of 25. We were greeted with a rude waitress which seemed to be in charge. She was no way pleasant. We were told there was no tables that we could sit at the bar. As a couple going for a meal we didn’t want to sit at the bar. In the bar itself there was 2 empty tables without reserved signs and we were told we weren’t allowed sit on these tables. When we were leaving we witnessed 5 other empty tables also without reserved signs on them. Very disappointed with the level of service.
