31/03/2026: Visited this restaurant recently with high expectations given its “French” positioning, but the experience was disappointing from start to finish. The prices are quite high for what is offered (€9.50 for a kir, €19.50 for a kir royal), which could be acceptable if the overall experience matched—but it didn’t. Hearing the owner ask staff to use cheap wine for the kir, in front of customers, felt very inappropriate. There was no amuse-bouche served with the drinks, which is supposed to when served as Aperitif. The starter (foie gras crème brûlée style) was honestly unpleasant: the texture was too runny, the taste overly rich and sickening, and it was served with only a few extremely thin slices of toasted bread. Very difficult to finish. The main course didn’t reflect French cuisine at all: an orzo “risotto” that was just average. The steak was mediocre, and the “homemade” fries looked very much like frozen ones. The dessert (strawberry melba) seemed like it had been prepared well in advance: the whipped cream had collapsed, and the whole dish was heavy and unappealing. I couldn’t finish it despite having a sweet tooth. Finally, the service was cold throughout: no smiles, little attention, and not very welcoming. Even when paying, there was barely a thank you. Overall, a very disappointing experience, especially considering the prices and the expectations of a restaurant presenting itself as French.

22/09/2025: We were quite a large party for the restaurant, 13 in total but they were very accommodating. The occasion was a birthday. The party included a 93 yr old, 2 type 1 diabetics and 2 people on restricted diets for health reasons. The menu was varied, lots of options for everyone and the staff were very helpful. The food was excellent, everyone was very happy with their choices. Highlight included chicken in porcini mushroom sauce (main) and the calamari (starter); younger party members had pizza and loved it. The atmosphere was very relaxed and pleasant; no rushing, attentive staff without being intrusive and good value for money. Highly recommend if you're looking a great dining experience in Newbridge!

11/05/2026: Had our daughters First Holy Communion party in Toughers at the weekend. Great communication from Tara when booking and I didn’t have to worry about a thing on the day. Food was lovely and the service from all the staff was excellent. We had a lovely private area for the kids to play music and dance while the adults relaxed.

10/11/2025: Great to see a restaurant of this standard in Kildare. With the Hangman’s closed, we’ve been short of somewhere special locally, and O’Dooles has definitely stepped up. It’s a proper night-out spot – not just a pub meal. We had a group of 15 last night and everything was excellent. Service was friendly and attentive without being over the top, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the place is spotless. The wine list is well chosen and fairly priced, drinks looked great, and the food was full of flavour across all courses. We also had a coeliac with us and the kitchen handled it perfectly – clear communication, careful preparation, and a gluten-free starter made fresh, which was very much appreciated. It’s great to have somewhere like this on our doorstep in Kildare. Highly recommended and we’ll definitely be back.

07/11/2025: We had a really lovely experience in O'Dooles restaurant for my brother’s birthday. The staff were fantastic and the food was amazing from start to finish. Great cocktail menu and lovely bar area for a pre dinner drink. Margarita was fab. The prawn starter was delish and the chickpea fritter to start was exceptional. Everyone enjoyed the main courses the Seabass for me was perfect and so flavorsome and my brother was very happy with the Veal chop. Desserts were great and the Cheeseboard - we are all still thinking about it! Great atmosphere in the restaurant. We can’t wait to go back. Thanks again to all the team at O’Dooles!

26/04/2026: Nice, casual lunch at a rustic Italian spot in Naas. It was pretty quiet when we went at lunchtime, so not much atmosphere, but that worked in our favour as we were seated quickly and everything felt relaxed. We went for a quick lunch with pasta, salad, and a bolognese. The food took a little longer than expected to come out, but nothing too major. The bolognese sauce itself was really nice, good flavour and enjoyable overall. The only downside was the pasta was slightly overcooked, to the point where the spaghetti would break when twisting it on the fork, which took away from it a bit. Still, the sauce carried the dish and made it a decent meal. Overall, a solid enough spot for a quick lunch with good service, just a small improvement needed on the pasta texture.

23/02/2025: Highly recommend! It was my first time eating Turkish food. I ordered the Doner Turkish wrap, Lamchuan, and a Turkish coffee. They were all so flavorful! The interior is stunning! The staff are so nice, and they looked very happy every time more people came in. I’ll definitely go there again! ❤️

Korean chicken wings starters were a letdown - tangy sauce couldn't save the bland chicken. Nasi goreng was a disaster - stale taste and soggy rice, absolute worst. Won't be back.
