The best restaurants in Kildare

13/07/2026: Finding this little gem of a restaurant was a happy accident as we only stopped in Killcock to stretch our legs. Between us we had the chicken Parma, pasta with chicken and mushrooms, eggplant, chicken with goat cheese salad and topped it all off with a toffee sticky pudding with ice cream. Nicole was delightful as our wait person and the chef clearly cares about what he puts in front of diners. Excellent!

10/11/2025: Great to see a restaurant of this standard in Kildare. With the Hangman’s closed, we’ve been short of somewhere special locally, and O’Dooles has definitely stepped up. It’s a proper night-out spot – not just a pub meal. We had a group of 15 last night and everything was excellent. Service was friendly and attentive without being over the top, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the place is spotless. The wine list is well chosen and fairly priced, drinks looked great, and the food was full of flavour across all courses. We also had a coeliac with us and the kitchen handled it perfectly – clear communication, careful preparation, and a gluten-free starter made fresh, which was very much appreciated. It’s great to have somewhere like this on our doorstep in Kildare. Highly recommended and we’ll definitely be back.

07/11/2025: We had a really lovely experience in O'Dooles restaurant for my brother’s birthday. The staff were fantastic and the food was amazing from start to finish. Great cocktail menu and lovely bar area for a pre dinner drink. Margarita was fab. The prawn starter was delish and the chickpea fritter to start was exceptional. Everyone enjoyed the main courses the Seabass for me was perfect and so flavorsome and my brother was very happy with the Veal chop. Desserts were great and the Cheeseboard - we are all still thinking about it! Great atmosphere in the restaurant. We can’t wait to go back. Thanks again to all the team at O’Dooles!

19/09/2025: Honestly the best bar ive been in in my life, friendly staff and super accommodating, never have i been to another bar like this. Caoimhe does some of the best cocktails ive had, and i do drink cocktails from all over the land. They also have some of the best Guinness too, and doesnt put you out of pocket.

01/08/2026: Firstly: I got a food poisoning from the raw duck. I understand that some people are ok with raw duck, but it's poultry. The menu didn't specify the doneness level, they just brought me a plate and the duck was bloody. I can still smell the raw poultry in my head. I was off work for three days until my stomach settled. Secondly:I waited for 30 minutes for a waiter or the man in charge in a fancy red cherry jacket to ask if I wanted a drnk refill. I had to get it myself. Lasty...The was a mix up in the desserts that were served. The waitress was made aware of it and just left and never got back.

07/06/2026: Was their with my 2 kids on Friday and my daughter decided to wander off. The manager jumped straight in to help. He was incredibly helpful while we were there.

14/07/2026: We recently spent a weekend in Kildare, my dog was also with us. Orby's is truly dog friendly which was lovely. Exceptional staff especially Carl who won my dog over with some chicken! The menu is great and we loved it so much we came back again a couple of days later. It's a lovely location at the racecourse. Easy parking, good table spacings, not too cramped in. Loved everything about it, thank you!

21/07/2026: A great place, I highly recommend it. It's quiet and peaceful when you need it, and when you need it, there's live music, singing, and dancing. A wonderful place!

27/06/2026: I was totally fabagastist that the locals just PUSHED YOU OUT OF WHERE YOUR SITTING!! For HOURS! They just marched in and told me to move over to the corner table. Then stared playing cards for money which is illegal in a pub and after telling them that they could have my table one of the guys kept pushing me out and even though my Corner table at this stage was being pushed into the corner now. He put his drink on my table and sat in the middle of both tables until he pushed me over more and more into the corner where I had my backpack. I’ve never been in a situation SO CLANNISH, RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL.

01/06/2026: Good stay. Spacious room. Free parking. Slept very well. I have had better breakfasts but it was OK.

30/05/2026: Ok .. rooms clean but basic. Food was nice. Breakfast wasn’t great

21/06/2026: Very friendly staff. You do need to check in on the machine but the staff is ready to guide you through it. The bed is in a funny position in relation to the tv but it is very comfy. The shower door is only half but it didn't really wet the floor. The safe wasn't bolted. But everything was clean, quiet. Breakfast was good. It felt safe to walk around. Lots of options for food and drinks. Close to Trinity college and Temple bar, about 10-15mins walk. Stephens green is very nice to visit as well. Close to transportation if you plan on getting the bus from the airport.

15/06/2026: Excellent location right next to the entrance of Steven’s Green shopping center easy walkable to all pubs and Restaurants Grafton St., Temple Bar Food was excellent breakfast pastries made on site The cozy king is just that it’s very cozy for two people. I would suggest only a couple a little cramped if you had two cases opened for one person it’s perfect. The bed is oddly laid out, but I slept vertically towards the TV and it was perfect. I highly recommend it price location quality service thumbs up.

16/07/2026: Great small plates - best calamari we've had for a long time, really tender. And the scallops were also great, plus the burrata. We were given helpful and knowledgeable adive on the wines, as you'd hope in a wine bar. All in all a very good dining experience
