04/05/2026: Outstanding Service at Reception – Thank You, George! We stayed at Carton House on Saturday 25/04 and wanted to take a moment to specifically recognise George at reception. From the moment we arrived, he was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. He went out of his way to accommodate our requests and made everything feel effortless, always with a warm smile and a positive attitude. George’s professionalism combined with his genuine care really stood out and made our stay even more special. It’s rare to meet someone who makes you feel so well looked after from the very first interaction. He is a real credit to Carton House, and we sincerely hope his efforts are recognised. We will definitely remember his kindness and hospitality. Thank you again, George!

04/05/2026: The hotel was lovely and the grounds spectacular but it stops there .We spent one night there and never again. Room was freezing and reported it to reception but it stopped there.Dinner was just ok .we had two sides and two glasses of wine and staff ran after us demanding payment .wouldn't accept that we pay on check out the next morning. Breakfast was dire and we had to walk half mile to get it in the cold and rain .We had voucher and everytime staff came to our table we were reminded we were on package. Very much class distinction. Won't be returning.

26/12/2025: I go there almost every day for my take away I love their coffee nd their a great bunch of lads working there they remember what I drink. It's a very nice atmosphere nd god friendly.

29/04/2026: I stopped by Fureys Bar during my trip after spotting it earlier on Google Earth while planning. It’s a small but incredibly cozy place with an excellent lunch menu. The service was very friendly, and the Guinness tasted outstanding. I can highly recommend Fureys Bar and will definitely come back. Greetings from Germany!

23/11/2025: The whole experience was amazing. We went there for breakfast and ordered the full Irish Breakfast, omelette and nutella pancakes. The owners were extremely accomodating and so friendly. Everything we odered was scrumptious and the service was perfect. A nice and cosy place with warm hearted owners making this a most pleasent experience. We will definately be going back! Haleema

08/03/2026: Atmosphere is only 3 because its not a sit down restaurant, but the staff are nice, friendly and efficient either on delivery or collection.

24/03/2026: The food was very minimal, and not well prepared. My wife got a chicken breast that was very dry, and I got a toasted cheese sandwich with one slice of ham. Our server took our order and didn't show up again. I think she forgot about bringing us our check, so we had to find her.

23/03/2026: Not a great experience. To edit, since the business responded, I didn't have a booking as I was a walk in on a Sunday night maybe 4 weeks ago. We ordered non alcoholic beers and had to ask for them twice. This was after a 10 minute wait for service at a table, we had food menus so clearly wanted food. Decor is fairly good, if not night clubby.

08/08/2025: It was an old room with a lot of mold and mildew in the bathroom and no amenities in the room, no slippers, no toothbrush... none of that. Considering the price I paid, it was extremely poor.

27/12/2025: We reserved a table for 2 with our dog on Christmas Eve. Food was super - blueberry and lemon drizzle pancakes and a cooked breakfast with homemade sourdough. The staff are so pleasant and there was a lovely buzzy atmosphere. One of the genuinely great spots to eat in Maynooth! Wish more restaurants and cafes in Maynooth were dog friendly, it’s very much appreciated to be able to sit inside in winter! We will definitely be back.

20/12/2025: Food is always top Tier! Baristas and staff are great love coming into the shop in maynooth! Coffee was nicer when you had the le heron Brazil on but I appreciate the coffee that’s on bar now because of the background on it.

17/03/2026: We had a disappointed experience in Friels recently. I ordered chicken and ham and was not given any ham, when I told the server he seemed put out and a couple minutes later arrived to my table with a disgusting slab of boiled ham on a side plate. The vegetables were clearly re-heated/were not fresh. There was a negative vibe from the staff. My second visit here being a local and I would not return again.

20/09/2025: We were on our way to the Dublin airport and stopped at the Canvas for dinner. It was delicious and the service was outstanding!!! I highly recommend it!!

14/09/2025: I'm not surprised the majority of the reviews are 5 stars which is well worthy for this beautiful restaurant. I had the seafood linguine which was delicious and so flavoursome. So simple yet so delicious. My family really enjoyed their dishes. If I was to critique one thing, it's small and quite noisy which if your sensitive in hearing can be hard. But it was a Saturday night and late booking. Next time I'd visit earlier. I knew the food would be tip class as I also ate in your canvas cafe in kill which was supberb
