The best restaurants in Kildare

07/03/2024: I'm genuinely sorry to give a bad review, but I went here a number of months ago with my husband. We were seated and given menus without being told about specials. We waited 15 minutes and nobody came to take our order. It was not busy. We were the only ones waiting to order. The waiting staff were chatting amongst themselves and appeared to have no interest in customers. I can't comment on the food because we were hungry and couldn't wait any longer, but the menu looked good apart from being expensive for what it is. My husband went up to the counter to explain that we would have to leave, but the lady behind the counter wasn't interested. I mean, we probably would have stayed if she had offered to take our order at least. It was very disappointing as we had food here a couple of times before and really enjoyed it but now won't return, this is genuinely disappointing for us. So please don't take this review as an insult, but maybe as room for improvement. Thank you

11/03/2024: Brady’s is a great friendly local pub. Always a warm welcome for everyone. Great supporter of all local groups. Lovely food, good value and excellent, friendly service.

03/04/2024: Service was poor. Asked for a glass and it was forgotten and had to ask again . Asked for the bill and this was forgotten. 10 small wings for a starter at €9.50 was v pricey but they were v good to be fair. Had smoked cod and chips for main which was hard and reheated. Was awful. €19 for that. Partner had the burger which was average at best. 5.50 for a small bottle of Peroni. So in summary, Dublin prices but poor to average food and forgetful service. Won't return I'm sad to say.

26/03/2024: Second time to eat there and enjoyed both occasions. Food well cooked and presented well and service was great 👍

14/03/2024: Fantastic food and brilliant service. Early bird menu is incredibly good value, and after several visits I can confirm they’re consistently great. We’ll be back!

28/02/2024: The setup.. perfect! .. the food.. perfect!.. They make everything to your taste.. Chicken items can be mage vegetarian.. The staff.. LOVELY!! the dessert.. yummy!.. Did i mention they make everything to your taste?? And the ambience is too good?? And that the folks there are the best?? Definitely going here once again.. and again.. and again..

22/02/2024: We had an experience last day 20/2/2024 ,we had a dinner in the resyaurant .night onwards we have stomach problems and have omitting and loosemotion .my wife went to casuality because of food poison.not prefering to go their with your loved one.food quality is worst.

06/03/2024: The food was ok - nothing to do with Spanish tapas but the quality was good - a bit overpriced. The service wasn't good at all, unfortunately. The staff should get more training for sure. When you go to the "wine bar" you would expect some sort of advice and a bit of knowledge about wines. The cocktails we ordered were a joke - €24 for 2 cocktails with no flavour and a dash of alcohol. It was a disappointment, we won't go back there.

24/03/2024: Kebab in fried flatbread and the Mix Kebab Melt was disappointing and disgusting.No worth the money, We decided to try a new place that's why we ordered from here and it was a huge mistake because the place we usually buy kebabs from is way more enjoyable. In the kebabs there's no lettuce like usual in most kebabs u can get.anyway money got dumped away to waste and food as well because nobody enjoyed it.Thats why I'm confused everyone is hyping this place up I ordered just because of the reviews but everyone has different tastes I guess.

17/03/2024: Grilled Chicken is just amazing. Wouldn't dream of going to any other restaurant in the area food is just so good. Thanks for the delicious food

17/03/2024: Very disappointing. Ordered a takeaway to be delivered. They got the order wrong for our child’s dinner and would not correct it. Regular customer and now would think twice about ordering as they were very unhelpful on the phone and had terrible customer service.

03/03/2024: First time in Red Torch Ginger last night with 2 friends, it was a wonderful night, from the time we entered the restaurant, staff were so friendly and attentive all night, the place has a great vibe, extensive menu, the food was amazing, aromatic duck pancakes sharing platter to start, very tasty, large portions, penang prawn curry, steamed rice to follow, extremely tasty and very generous portions. Too full for dessert but friend got chocoloate orange cheesecake and we all tasted it, was delicious! The cocktails were amazing, also. We will definitely be coming back to this restaurant, I would highly recommend it!

01/04/2024: First time to visit Friel's today (Easter Sunday). They were very busy but were so calm and professional. Excellent in every way. Will definitely be back again.

20/01/2024: Great to see this pub open again, a village like Sallins needs alternatives, a bar no food, great spot to relax wit nice coffee after a long walk, I will definitely keep a visit in the summer in mind and have a few pints after my walk

25/03/2024: Nice little cafe. Great "pit stop" area when I did jog in the area. They also sell their own coffee beans, which taste excellent! The owner is also very friendly👌

15/03/2024: Giving 5 stars for really tasty coffee! (Even though the location wasn't my favourite.) The coffee was very tasty - I am a lover of independent coffee shops versus coffee chains, so I am always on the lookout for new indie coffee shops when I travel. While away on business, I looked up 'best coffee shops in Kildare' - alot seemed to be in Celbridge/Naas, but I saw that Firecastle and Silken Thomas were recommended in Kildare Town. The look of Firecastle's shopfront appealed to me more, so I decided to go with Firecastle. The coffee was lovely and the treats on the counter looked delish! Firecastle also offers restaurant sit-down options as well as gifts and baked goods. The gifts they were selling appeared to be provided by small businesses which was great to see, even if the gifts were on the pricier side. All in all, I think Firecastle is a lovely, upmarket addition to a town that looks somewhat deprived and appears to be struggling in some areas.
