The best restaurants in Kildare

06/05/2025: Nice lunch options, could do with having more vegetarian options though (removing the meat and paying the same price is unappealing). Feta and Avocado toast is good quality, good portion size, as are the lattes. Pancakes need some work (was hoping they'd improved since the last time we visited over a year ago) they're bland and dry, not enough maple syrup for the stack and the portion size of the berries is tiny for the additional price. On the other hand, the amount of milk served with the tea is a lot, they could reduce that a bit and still provide ample milk for two cups of tea from the pot. Ample ketchup and mayo served with the fries too, smaller wider pots would also allow for a saving that could be reinvested into extra berries/syrup. Service has much improved since the last time we visited too which is nice to see now they've settled well into their new location.

09/05/2025: Me and a few lads went into McMahons for some breakfast and Ian sorted us out. He was a great chap, really funny, looked after us well and did a crazy trick with my lucozade glass when he was serving it. Absolutely unreal, definitely be back 💪💪

04/05/2025: Had a surprise 30th Birthday for my Husband in McMahons and I couldn’t recommend here enough! The staff were so helpful from beginning to end, they helped to decorate the area and made the whole process so easy! The food platters were absolutely to die for as well and everyone complemented the food and atmosphere. Great live music on also. If you are celebrating any occasion I definitely recommend McMahons! Thanks again.

29/04/2025: Had such a fantastic time at this place! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a night out with friends or a date. The staff were super friendly and made great recommendations. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. You can tell they put a lot of care into both the food and the service. Will definitely be coming back soon!

20/04/2025: Went with a group of 16 for a family dinner. Fantastic food, excellent portion sizes, good value for money. Everyone thought the food was fab. We will definitely be back.

17/04/2025: Food was great, service is alright as they seem to only have 2 or 3 staff members but you are right next to the kitchen as it’s really small.

17/05/2025: Visited this place for a Friday night dinner and loved the ambience and the presentation of the food. Starters- sev puri , non veg platter and moms were average in taste and portion size. Kolkata Chilli Chicken and veg Manchurian was brilliant. Naan was amazing but the only let down was their paneer curry . Veg biryani was below par too.

31/03/2025: Review: Stayed at the Hotel on 30/03/25 First Impressions: The hotel is in a good location on the main road into Newbridge. Hotel Facilities: The hotel has some very nice seating areas both inside and outside, with a good-sized bar area and a popular restaurant. The communal areas are well-maintained, and the outdoor seating areas make good use of the sunny spots. Gym: The gym closes a bit early for late travelers, which was inconvenient as it would have been nice to use. However, it looked like a good facility. Reception: The welcome at reception was a little cold and efficient. Room: I was allocated room 130, which was a bit of a letdown. The room was tired and in need of some love and attention, with lots of damage in areas around the room and bathroom. The bathroom was dated and could do with an update and tidy-up. The view outside the window was onto a path, which felt a bit unprivate. Bed and Sleep Experience: The bed was comfortable, and the sleep experience was good once the curtains were drawn. Amenities: There were no tea facilities in the room, which was very surprising. Breakfast: I had an early start and went for the first sitting at 7 am. I had a standard Irish fry, but unfortunately, all the products were cold. It took some time for someone to come out, and I had to ask for a pot of coffee as there were no facilities or coffee machines to help yourself. When the coffee came, it was nice, no complaints. The continental selection was good with plenty to choose from.

13/05/2025: Bought singular cakes today here, none of them fresh and the banoffee one had cross contamination when I took a bite it tasted of meat or sandwiches of some kind I nearly vomited and immediately threw it in bin. At them prices this is altogether completely unacceptable. Today turned me off them for life sad to say.
