19/05/2026: We go to Cooke's quiet regularly, we recently celebrated our daughter's communion dinner here. We had the set menu in the Fox and Hare, the food was gorgeous, the staff could not have been any more helpful. We had the room to ourselves so the kids could enjoy themselves without disturbing other people.

17/05/2026: ​We visited Cookes of Caragh yesterday for a large family celebration. It was absolutely lovely from start to finish. ​From the moment we arrived, we were incredibly well looked after. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the hospitality was second to none. ​Thank you to the whole team for making our family celebration so memorable. We highly Cookes of Carragh.

23/04/2026: Really nice atmosphere, great ambiance, nicely done interior, and a good overall vibe for a nice relaxed meal. Service was also solid. That said, the vegetarian options are extremely limited, which was disappointing. For the price range they’re operating in, you’d expect at least a couple of proper, well-thought-out veggie dishes rather than just one token option (or having to modify things). If they expanded the vegetarian menu even slightly, it would make a big difference. But overall a really nice restaurant if you don't have dietary restrictions.

21/04/2026: We went for the lunch as was advertised outside €17.95 for 2meals, but when we sat by our table’s menu prices were different €18.95 for 2meals. I find that misleading for customers. Otherwise then that atmosphere and service was perfect. Its high-class restaurant with excellent presentation and quality of food. Definitely food made not by ordinary chef. I would highly recommend this place to visit if you’re food gurman of Mediterranean, but don’t bring your kids or teenagers with you. Better send them next door straight away...

22/04/2026: Fantastic place to stop and break a long journey. Plenty of parking. Large selection of food choices and plenty of seating. Toilet facilities are spotless and cleaned constantly. Cannot fault the service provided. We had the carvery and the portions were very generous and the food fresh and tasty. 10/10

13/05/2026: We went for Sunday carvery and had a lovely lunch. Very generous portions of tender beef, beautifully seasoned vegetables and gravy. Extremely tasty. Definitely recommend the food. ALSO Highly recommend having a browse around the immense ground floor which has many nooks and crannies, lovely hidden areas. All beautifully decorated with very interesting artworks and interesting objects and gorgeous stained glass windows... stunning. A great venue to satisfy the tummy and the eyes ☺️

Few yougsters, running around like headless chickens, often don't get the orders right, and forget about you once the food is delivered to the table. Worst of all - they don't take the reservations. Sure, nothing new, but this one time, when we wanted to bring our 86 grandmother for a quick dinner, I called them and asked could they make an exception, since she wouldn't be able to wait 40 mins for the table, they straight up said no. Way to treat your elrderly. Again, if it was just me, that wouldn't be an issue. Nice place, but does it lose point for their bad service and god awful yreatment of clients?-sure they will. There's room for improvement. Give the kids proper training and maybe think about how you treat the hand that feeds you.

07/12/2025: From the outside, The Salmon Leap Inn looks… well, let’s say “resting peacefully.” At the corner of a main road, it gives off strong “I’ve seen some things” energy. Honestly, I almost drove past thinking it was closed or possibly haunted. But then… BUT THEN. You step inside and it’s like Narnia, if Narnia had pints and regulars with a sense of humour. Warm, cosy, and full of positive vibes. The place practically hugs you. The co-customers are so friendly you half expect someone to offer you slippers and a cup of tea. It feels less like a pub and more like popping round to a mate’s living room; if your mate also pulls a brilliant pint. The service? Personalised, quick, and genuinely cheerful. None of that “I’m only here for my shift paycheck” energy; more like “welcome to our family, can we get you settled with a drink?” In short: The Salmon Leap Inn might look like it’s napping on the outside, but step in and you’ll find a lively, charming surprise. A hidden gem that proves you definitely can’t judge a pub by its cover. 🍻

His mixology is incredible, his service is outstanding, and it is all topped off with the kind of personality every customer hopes for. Connor is the reason we became repeat customers. If his drinks were not already the star of the show, he easily would be himself. He has made several evenings truly memorable. Matteo also deserves a special mention. He is consistently welcoming, attentive and professional, and he adds so much to the warm atmosphere of the place. His service is excellent, and he helps make every visit feel smooth, relaxed and enjoyable. They are truly lucky to have him, and his contribution certainly does not go unnoticed. Andrew was an absolute pleasure to be served by. He was attentive, personable and eager to make sure everything was just right, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. What really stood out was the human touch in his service — we had such a lovely chat with him, and it was genuinely refreshing to be served by someone so warm and engaging.
