17/10/2025: Had dinner there yesterday with my colleague, food was 10/10, recommend local IPA was 10/10, and service was 15/10. Tom is such a welcoming and nice gentleman

24/09/2025: This is a gorgeous little space with really lovely staff and fantastic food. We went mid week for brunch and had no issue getting a table in the main restaurant area. The decor is so rustic and simple but makes the space feel so warm. You can see the kitchen area from the restaurant which always adds to the atmosphere. There is a reasonable selection of food on the brunch menu with plenty of different options. We tried the pulled pork hash and the breakfast sandwich. Both were presented so well and tasted even better. The portion sizes are big and great value for money! The staff were so helpful with explaining dishes and baked goods. They were also very attentive and welcoming. There is more on the menu that I would love to try so I can’t wait to come back!

02/11/2025: Zen Thai in Cheddar is always amazing. The food is freshly made, beautifully presented, and packed with flavour. The service is warm and welcoming, and the quality is consistently outstanding. One of the best places to eat in Cheddar!

05/10/2025: I love this place, food and service is always great and the menu always has some unique items. The one thing I'd change is the sound system in the place, it's tinny and echoes. A new Bluetooth speaker would do the job.

17/10/2025: Very disappointed with the service. It took 20 minutes just to place our order, and no one told us certain items weren’t available until we tried to order them. Both mains were completely forgotten, and despite offering to bring the dessert menu, it never came. The food was good once it finally arrived, but the overall experience was frustrating. Wouldn’t return.

27/10/2025: A lovely breakfast spot, very tasty food and good value. However, the waitress we had yesterday was rude, clearly didn't want to be there and incredibly short and dismissive with everyone, not just us. A shame as the food was really good.

20/09/2025: Arrived late and we were looked after very well by reception staff. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Impressive reception area. Overall hotel left a very good impression particularly in relation to staff and management.

20/08/2025: My family and I stayed here for one night for my sister’s wedding. The wedding was beautiful and the food was delicious. The room we stayed in was huge and had 3 beds for my family of 6. I was especially happy with the service and kindness of the general manager, Owen, who helped us when we checked out. My husband’s wedding ring fell into a sewer in the parking lot (thanks to my son lol) and the manager came to not only give us tools, but he stuck his entire bare arm down that sewer and got the ring back. We offered him a tip because that’s what we do where we live but he kindly refused it and put it back into my baby’s stroller. Very kind man!

12/07/2025: This is not my first time to dine at canvas and it won't be my last 👍 I had lasagne and chips 👌 perfect. It's a very small restaurant that's the perfect size to make it so friendly and cosy. You always feel welcome as the staff are so nice 👍 definitely worth a visit 👌

28/09/2025: Place is grear. They only do pizza and pasta, and that's it—no chicken, just pure Italian goodness. Everything tastes so fresh and real. It's simple food done perfectly, seriously great.

03/11/2025: I really expected better of a five star, expensive hotel. We were greeted warmly, but they asked us about preferences and choices with food and activities but booked us in the opposite of what we had chosen. The spa was like going to a community pool, stepping over kids and their detritus to get to a locker room shared by the pool area, no robes or slippers, no pleasant waiting area or relaxing music. Just the noise of families splashing about. I was hoping for elegant and elevated but got what I would expect from a 3 star hotel. Furthermore, the more recent wing of the hotel was falling apart with leaks in the ceilings, mismatched bulbs with different color temperatures, a tempting bathtub that did not work, and dingy dark hallways. It really needs a good designer to come in and gut the place. As a Fairmont managed property, I thought we would be getting better.

13/10/2025: Bad experience: Chicken wings coated with 5 spice, main course came and the sides 15 minutes later after telling staff 3 times. Young clueless staff. Never again
