The best restaurants in Kildare

25/11/2024: Stopped in for a couple of hours work, was treated to a lovely atmosphere and really fun, friendly staff. The hot chocolates were fab and will certainly visit again when in Clane.

17/11/2024: 5 all the way. 6 if I could give it. Staff great, atmosphere spot on if I just want to chat or do some work whilst the coffee is amazing

04/11/2024: Loved the good and the atmosphere in this restaurant. I'm vegetarian and gluten intolerant. It can be difficult to find something on a menu to eat, but not here!

03/11/2024: Went recently for a table of 4 and one child, came in to an empty restaurant and the disgust on the staff face when we said we'd need a high chair for a child, the manager actually shouted from the back " they have a buggy" with disgust in her voice, when seated we weren't told a time we'd need to be out by we had 2 courses and were seated just over an hour when a staff member came over and rudely stated we need the table back, no check in on how food was or any interaction bar being seated and order taken, place is so high and mighty and would never return attitudes are through the roof

09/12/2024: I recently attended a shared Christmas Party night at the Courtyard Hotel. The team had such a wonderful time. All the staff were amazing from booking the event to the very end of the evening. Alana, Cathal, Ann Marie and Davi all included! Everything was fantastic. We loved the food and had plenty of dancing to live music also. Thanks again for accommodating us and organising such a great night!

08/12/2024: I recently had my 40th birthday at the courtyard and we had a fantastic experience. It’s a great location with parking . We were looked after so well and nothing was an issue for the staff . Food was fantastic and plenty of it aswell . Live music was brilliant with a dj afterwards till late , we danced the night away . Special thanks to Allana and Annmarie for looking after us so well .

28/11/2024: Dire. The usual cheap frozen food badly cooked and over priced. They said there was a chef working there, so they're obviously liars aswel.

02/11/2024: My first visit here in a few years. The new owners have made minimal changes but they are welcome. Tremendous atmosphere. Traditional sessions take place weekly and are well supported Well done all.

21/09/2024: Great place, but the atmosphere felt a bit sterile for a Friday night. Great location though, and beautiful building!

30/10/2024: What a place!!!!!!! If you are a tourist, don't be afraid, it's locals place and there you will find a proper Kildare Town welcome. All of them beer drinkers are locals and what a characters you will find. I remember one of them even offered me to share his pint bottle of Bulmers hahahha. Well, if you are in town you have to drop by for a proper black shtuff. AMAZING place!!!!!!

02/12/2024: Very nice hotel, was here at an event so didn't stay

01/12/2024: Far from the city centre (1h) by train/tram what ever you want to call it . Good service . Rooms aren’t sound proof , I could hear everyone snoring and running in the hallway . Not much to see around here or many shops . At most a 3 star hotel not 4. Smoke alarm goes off for absolutely no reason . I’ve been to 2-3stars hotel and they had a little fridge at least not this one . Overall if it’s 1week it’s an okay hotel but more than that it’s not worth it . They try to charge you breakfast room service when it’s included with your reservation you just have to let them know maybe they charge first and then verify if it’s included or not . By far the worst wifi I guess because it’s free to everyone instead of limiting it for the hotel guest . 3/5 cheers

09/11/2024: Great food and very friendly staff. Super clean and food is cooked to perfection. Food is fresh and the homemade brown soda is delightful. 2 full Irish Breakfasts were ordered and devoured. Extremely tasty. Would highly recommend. Reasonably priced.

29/10/2024: Service is a bit slow, but the food is worth the wait. Shop is very clean, and bright. Staff are friendly, polite, and stay back, so you can chat with your friends. Great experience

07/11/2024: We passed this place many times and finally decided to go in. We were not disappointed with our choice, the place is quite cozy, not crowded, and the waitresses are friendly and polite. The food is quite tasty, but did not have a "wow" effect on me, although the restaurant is included in the Michelin guide The portions of our starters were a decent size, although I even thought that a piece of pate was too big for one person, however, I do not blame such a choice of the chef, as it may be acceptable for others. We were pleased with the bread provided as an appetizer - the bread is deliciouse ! My main course was unfortunately a little disappointing because it was quite spicy for me (I took a slow-cooked beef ragout, which is a pasta dish, so the beef itself was too seasoned with black pepper), that I could not even finish my dish due to the heat sensation in my mouth. The dessert (basque cheese cake) seemed ordinary to me, but my husband liked it. We might come back to this place for lunch again.

29/10/2024: Best sport in the town by a country mile ! Spotless, great bar ladies behind the bar and couldn't do enough for you. Always a fabulous buzz about the place. Big beer garden. Guinness is gorgeous and giant t,v, for all the sports during the day. Music every week.

23/09/2024: Lovely pub for a beer, and it has lovely, relaxing lighting all around. A great sport type pub with the Rugby on in one section and Football in another, so catering for eveyone, we as a group could also sit in an area for a chat too. So we'll done to the management top class and and that goes for the service and friendly staff too. Thanks for a great experience. 100%.
