The best restaurants in Kildare

21/03/2025: Stayed for two nights in the Auld Shabeen the room was excellent spotless clean had dinner in the bar food and service was amazing lovely staff and the owner couldn't do enough for us great experience would highly recommend a stay here looking forward to coming back again

15/02/2025: I got the pizza with ham and pineapple the pizza was nice but I was given pineapple that was out of date and didn’t realise until half way done that I had realised I said it to the waitress and she also said it was soar and she brought the remaining pizza into the kitchen and then came out saying that the oven does that to the pineapple I just agreed and in my head said I’m never going back they charged me full price for the pizza and put me into a bad mood for the night

12/02/2025: This homely welcoming cafe run by Yvonne and Seamus is the best you can get. Cannot rate it highly enough. We love everything about it everytime we visit.

20/03/2025: We have recently moved to Newbridge and used Dora Mays catering for hosting friends and family. The sandwiches were so fresh and delicious. We got hot food also and they delivered it in a hot dish that we lit and kept the food hot. I have used them twice now and will use them in the future. Thanks very much

27/01/2025: I cannot recommend Dora Mays Catering enough. She took an order last minute and the service was amazing. The sandwich platters are to die for and everyone commented on how good they were and how fresh the bread was. I will definitely be ordering again.

06/03/2025: Good good served quickly. Very busy and can get really loud. Toilets are very basic and cramped.

19/02/2025: Brilliant experience!!! after I made the mistake of ordering the soup while thinking it was vegetarian the staff offered to refund the soup, would reccomend, staff and food are both very nice 10/10

20/03/2025: Lovely experience. The room was super comfortable and warm. The market cafe downstairs was wonderful. Had coffee and lunch there. Focaccia sandwich hit the mark. Very unique items for sale in the market. Paul, Jill, Patty and the crew do an amazing job. I was very impressed. I am looking forward to a return visit!

11/03/2025: A good choice of delicious deli options, tea's, coffees, home baking, a wide selection of good quality take away foods available in refrigerated area. Good variety of wine selection area. A large variety of gift items, homemade breads,grocery and fresh juices. Helpful staff members, a few will share cupla focal as gaeilge. A well run business, a busy lunch and morning service.

18/03/2025: Staff were lovely and the manager was attentive and asked every table if they were okay. My burger the Texan was cooked to perfection with all the toppings, with the dusty fries. The meal deals for 2 people at @40 euro were really good value. I would definitely recommend and come back again. Thank you!!

17/03/2025: Went here one night for a drink and ordered 2 cocktails. They were basically soft drinks as there was little alcohol in them despite the description. Have been there a couple of times during the day for food. They have a good menu and the food is typical of a regular pub. It's usually pretty quiet during the day.

15/03/2025: We came to the pub yesterday for a company bonding meeting but were confronted with a very unpleasant situation. A tiny childish barman with a moustache picked on us at the start because we hadn't given him our ID the first time because we had left our wallets in a jacket at the table which we had to go and get. We went to get our IDs, showed them at the bar the next time and alcohol was sold to us after a slight verbal sweat from the same bartender (you can see he was negative towards us from the start, he probably has some sort of illness with him and shouldn't be working with people) nevertheless we had fun for over an hour ordering food for over 100 euros and before the boogie bingo started security asked us to leave saying we didn't show the IDs we showed. After a short battle with the manager we had to leave anyway. It's a shame we weren't asked out at the beginning before we bought anything, it seems the management can only kick someone out when you just paid and don't want to order any more. We moved on to the pub next door and enjoyed ourselves 10 times better with no problem. Ridiculous situation and I would recommend the barman and manager to see a psychiatrist or go to playground play with sand

15/03/2025: My Wife and I had lunch at this Vietnamese/Thai restaurant which is part of the Kildare Village designer outlet mall. Booking was not necessary although the place was busy on this sunny bank holiday Saturday. She had Sweet Chilli Chicken while I had Chicken Phad Thai. Both were delicious. We had a glass of wine and a pint of Guinness, respectively. The bill came to just under €60 excluding the tip. We'll return!

24/12/2024: Mediocre breakfast that had all the hallmarks of being re-heated. Rashers were tired. Fried egg reminded me of those hotel buffets. The white pudding was browned on one side only. The sausages were ok. For the price being charged, this should be cooked fresh.

12/01/2025: With been a food a holic come past 9pm and living in a town with not one nice take away I travel far for my food .... Naas .... Dublin ..... So I was heading for a normal take away into naas hit the lights at Tesco extra and got this brain wave I'm absolutely delighted I went with it the staff are genuine and the food was amazing I got chips and it's very hard to find nice chips around anywhere but these were old style classic chipper chips and the batter sausage was delicious and crispy I would recommend anyone looking for a quick bite and wants some decent food to go here ..... I will be back ..... Thanks for the food

23/07/2024: Great local cafe, the coffee is superb and there is a wide variety of pastries and fresh, delicious sandwiches available, made from freshly baked in-house bread, which can be purchased Fridays and Saturdays as well. Super friendly staff all can be taken away as well as consumed in the cafe.

29/06/2024: Super 👍 place. Staff are great and the food is excellent ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Lovely atmosphere, the only place to go around Naas / Clane. Canal and greenway provide the perfect excuse. Try it out and you will return.
