30/08/2025: Extremely disappointing. This was our first time trying Hook & ladder in Corbally, as we usually go to the Castletroy location and have never had any issues there. Unfortunately, this experience was the complete opposite. We waited 55 minutes for just two toasted sandwiches and soup, only to be told after 40 minutes that there wasn’t even enough soup for both meals. At no point were we informed about the wait time, and even though we were assured we were “next,” two other tables were served before us. We also noticed at least two other tables complaining about the delays. In the end, we walked out. Very poor service and such a letdown compared to Castletroy. What made it worse is that there was no effort to make up for the poor service — even something as simple as offering to cover our coffees would have shown some consideration. Instead, we left frustrated and let down. We won’t be returning to this location, and will stick with Castletroy where the service is consistently reliable.

Forget sterile sheets and modern amenities — here, you get the authentic experience of falling asleep (or attempting to) right above the beating heart of the local pub. Book the room directly over the bar for the full immersive package. By 1 a.m., you’ll feel like your bed has been personally invited to join the party. By 3 a.m., you’ll know all the lyrics to every song on the jukebox whether you wanted to or not. The décor is best described as “historically unchanged,” with a delightful patina of… memories. The air is seasoned with a rich, vintage aroma of beer that follows you lovingly from the bar to your pillow. Perfect for: night owls, beer aficionados, and anyone who considers earplugs an optional luxury. Not recommended for: light sleepers, clean freaks, or people with functioning noses.

11/06/2025: My friend bought a cake there and decided to eat it at the place with a coffee, but an old lady was rude to her saying that you cannot eat the cake that you bought here, so we give this business more than 20 euro and they don’t want us eating what they made there 🤔. My friend is foreign so maybe to old lady was racist, I don’t know but it doesn’t make sense why you can’t eat the cake there even when you purchase 2 coffees to drink with it.

31/07/2025: Absolutely loved the BBQ ribs here! Crispy on the outside, fall-off-the-bone tender on the inside. The sauce is rich and smoky, with just the right balance of sweet and savory. Perfect with a side of fries or salad. A must-try for meat lovers!

21/06/2025: I was in Ringsend and found Park Lane Coffee through Google Maps. Great place. Unusual setup but the ice late was delicious and the almond croissant was one of the best I ever had. You can't sit inside but on a sunny day like the day I was there, why would you want to. Plenty of places to sit in Rinsend and Ringsend park is a few metres up the road from the cafe. Staff were great too. Highly recommend!

08/05/2025: Takeaway coffee was ok - but no Earl Grey tea (only Green offered!), so a bit limited. Not cheap. Not sure what options you have round here, though...

14/06/2025: We had some fine drink and really enjoyed the singer (@johnny Luke) and outdoor seating. The owner, Danny on post at the bar making sure a good time had for all. Stop on by.

26/02/2025: Nice pints at a fair price. Good staff and sound doormen. Shows lots of sports and the pub is clean. Plays live music most nights.

26/08/2025: Just had a hot latte accidentally knocked over me . Was shocked and upset . I received a watery apology. The waitress said it was an accident and she didn't do it on purpose! ( which of course she didn't) l am wet through, trousers, top , shoes and my bag. Not even a reimbursement for the latte or a management apology. Bad form

05/07/2025: My husband took unwell here in Zest, got sick in the restaurant and bathroom. Ended up having to phone the ambulance. The staff were absolutely amazing, each and every one of them couldn't have been more helpful. I'd just like to thank you all for your help. Thankfully he's back to himself again and home from hospital

24/08/2025: Fantastic service and banter with Anthony at the bar. Superb service and have to say Anthony was the friendliest and most accommodating bartender I have come across in a long while.
