The best restaurants in Waterford

06/07/2026: We had lunch here last Friday July 3rd. From the moment we came in the door we were met with top class service. The lady that was in charge epitomised all that's great about Irish hospitality. The food was top quality I had lemon sole with mash and veg all piping hot. My wife had monkfish scampi with chips and salad, again top quality. Unfortunately we were rushing to an appointment so we had to forego desserts amongst the selection was my favourite apple crumble. I highly recommend.

02/07/2026: We went there for an early lunch and were served quickly and politely. The food was delicious and arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The atmosphere was cozy. Highly recommended!

02/07/2026: Service was great! Cabbage wedge was delightful, really good flavors. Irish cheese platter 10/10. Chocolate mousse was delicious and a must get. Beef and Guinness stew was amazing!

25/04/2026: Delicious food, very attentive and friendly people. Highly recommended. We could hardly choose from so many tasty things! We enjoyed ourselves immensely. The atmosphere in the restaurant is amazing.

09/04/2026: Only the (limited?) bar food menu was available at 3:30 PM; still a good selection of dishes. The Caesar Salad and Fish and Chips were excellent.

01/07/2026: Exceptional baker, wide variety of baked goods, cakes and breads. Well worth a visit.

01/07/2026: Bread and Pastries are absolutely yummy. It felt like being in the bakery of my dreams. We had a baguette and Pastel De Nata. Delicious! 🤤

15/06/2026: Myself and the wife popped in for our birthday dinner..never fails to disappoint...steak was fabulous...service fantastic...hats off to darren and all the staff as it was very busy...see ye all soon again.

14/06/2026: Don't order fish and chips unless you have low expectations. The chips are frozen. The fish is cut very thin. And it tastes very fishy. Disappointing. Award winning supposedly - that award is well in the past I think and now they're living off of their reputation.

12/07/2026: If visiting Dungarvan I’d give the Merrys Gastro pub a miss It was fairly grotty seats and tables were fairly dirty. We were left waiting an hour and a half for our food that was only average . Lots of fabulous restaurants and bars in Dungarvan to choose from but this was not one of them!

30/06/2026: jack meades is jack meades. menu is the same as far as i can remember. I luv the salads, duno y. meat are sometimes dry, be it ribs or steak. chips are the same. burgers, basic. ull luv the ambiance tho. luv the feeling of being in the countryside.

10/05/2026: Went for lunch in sat last, total disaster Luke warm food, cold chips,no bar service to table, despite having 4 younge men hovering around cleaning tables.Had to go to bar to order drinks with our meal,and they didn't even get that right.On the positive I got a free choc brownie,Have always went to the Granville,for bar food,and always got good food and service.Sat carvery was dreadfully,service dreadfully,waited about.20 mins for a sandwich,which came.with warm meat ,and cold.chips.Wont be going again,my.family.were down for the day,I was embarrassed at what we got

14/09/2025: Possibly the best Chai latte in Waterford, a friendly staff member recommended the flatbread to accompany my Chai latte, I'm glad she did, it was very tasty. I will return again 😊

12/09/2025: We had a lovely pistachio hot chocolate, tiramisu, and a Black Forest dessert. All of it was absolutely delicious! The staff are also amazing and friendly! We will definitely be coming back!

11/07/2026: Went there spontaneously on my own. We quickly got a table to eat, as there was live music outside. They offered us a complimentary bottle of still water, as a matter of course. The seafood pie was really good. We also had a small cider. Despite some minor language difficulties, the staff were incredibly friendly, patient, and attentive. Then we went outside with a whisky to enjoy the live music. The atmosphere was fantastic, and it was free. The selection of whiskies and gins at the bar was excellent. All in all, highly recommended.

14/05/2026: We recently had a small 40th birthday party down in Jarrz and it was perfect. I was dealing with Suzanne via email beforehand to confirm and she was very helpful. We wanted somewhere with a good atmosphere, where we could get food and also watch the Arsenal match. It must be the best sports bar in Waterford at the minute with the sheer amount of screens and every single sports catered for. We had the match on in front of us, we ordered food down from Espresso and the bar staff were very good. There was also karaoke at the end of the night so our party were happy out!

01/05/2026: Ive met Suzanne 3 times and honestly I cant fault her care, professionalism and service, it is beyond comparison. Shes so considerate and professional....staff are so friendly and engaging! Pub is so clean and unique. Little gem worth visiting 👌

20/05/2026: Enjoyed a meal here with friends before heading to the Theatre Royal. Good service , tasty food, no waiting, attentive to our needs. Liked the decor and cleanliness also.
