The best restaurants in Waterford

20/12/2025: Absolute pleasure shopping and eating at Mezze. Being a coeliac there's never a problem for me to order. There's always something I can have for lunch but more importantly for desert! Any coeliac will know, tasty and fresh food is hard to come by! Along with that everyone's super friendly!

07/10/2025: Popped in here recently whilst on a family trip to the area, 2 adults 2 kids 8 & 4. We as a couple had a great experience in this restaurant 8.5 yrs prior so we thought we’d give it a go. It didn’t disappoint. No booking no problem, nice little table. Colours for the kids from get go, very attentive staff. We only had mains so can only guess how good the starters may have been. Mains were tops. Kids then walked over to the ice cream counter were a very patient staff member called out each ice cream flavour. A must visit for food, comfy atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff. Hoping it won’t be years again I return 😊

17/09/2025: "Coriander plays no role in Italian pasta," but unfortunately, this very eager chef didn't seem to know that. The pasta wasn't described as containing coriander, but rather as Pasta Azurro with king prawns and chilli lime sauce. In the end, there was so much coriander in the pasta that I could only eat the prawns, and even they tasted of coriander. Perhaps the chef doesn't know what Italian pasta means and occasionally confuses coriander and basil... It's a shame that they wanted €21.95 for this inedible dish, because even if it were free, I would never want to eat this pasta again. My mistake for ordering takeaway, otherwise I would have sent this pasta straight back to this incredibly Italian chef in his kitchen with my best regards. I will never eat there again and I would only recommend eating there if you don't want Italian quality but a cheap imitation at overpriced prices.

05/11/2025: My partner and I spent three days and two nights here. We were delighted to find this hotel, its view, the warm welcome, the smiles, and the friendliness at every moment. What's more, we were lucky enough to have almost exclusively beautiful weather. The meals were generous and delicious. Thank you again for allowing us to have such a wonderful time with you!

19/12/2025: I've been here for a work night out. They have a great selection of cocktails. The Shak has great pizzas. Atmosphere was very lively and relaxingat the same time. Great outdoor area.

26/10/2025: For years it was best fish and chips. I always think about this as reward after trip. Today it was so under average… fish was super greasy and burger was one of the worst I ever eaten… would prefer McDonald cheese burger… Not sure if staff changed, bad day or some cost cutting but definitely not worth visit. Will give it one more try in few months to check if it’s back to glory but doubt it…

16/11/2025: At Riverside Cottage, I checked in for a rest, But the staff were so lovely I felt overly blessed. They greeted me smiling—no frowns, no despair— I started to wonder if kindness was mandatory there. The waitresses, though… absolute legends, I swear. They zoomed through the dining room like they owned the air. Drinks appeared instantly—like some magical trick— I blinked, and bam, my meal arrived quick. Their jokes were on point, their timing precise, I laughed so much I forgot to chew twice. And when dessert came, I shed a small tear— I’m not saying it changed my life… but it’s close, let’s be clear. So if you want great food with some laughs on the side, And staff so helpful they might legally qualify as a guide, Head to Riverside Cottage—it’s worth the trip, no doubt. Five stars from me… and my now permanently raised brow.

10/09/2025: Love stopping off here for our first Irish breakfast after taking the ferry to Rosslare from Wales. Great homemade brown bread and bottomless coffee and tea!
