Great food and drinks options. Excellent service from well trained professional staff. Peter deserves special recognition from our group for great service and dedication. This one is worth checking out for groups or any occasion.

10/10/2026: I'll preface this review by saying that I'm nobody or nothing to the food game. I enjoy cooking and messing about in the kitchen at home. I booked the tasting menu at Mara with my wife for our wedding anniversary because once a year we are absolutely worth it. The restaurant is small, only eight tables but immediately felt like stepping into your cooler friend's living room. The lighting was soft, the furniture quirky and the music gloriously familiar. The front of house staff were lovely, the food was genuinely exquisite, nothing short of a gastronomical triumph! I'm not going to attempt to explain an eleven course meal 🤷 The following afternoon I was standing outside a shop staring at the world through my open mouth when I spotted Chef Martin. I approached him and we chatted for a few minutes. He is an incredibly humble and chilled out individual. I cannot recommend Mara highly enough.

19/09/2026: Overpriced for the portions and for what is on offer. Staff are borderline with rude. The indoor makeshift seating is really just a last resort in case it's raining.

10/05/2026: Had a lovely stay at Hannoras Cottage. The views are absolutely beautiful, the staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the food was fabulous. Such a warm, relaxing place to stay — would definitely recommend.

30/09/2026: I dined here with my family recenly and had such a nice time. The staff are so welcoming and warm. the menu had been updated from the last time I visited which was good to see. I had the creme brulee cheesecake for dessert which was divine!

30/09/2026: I dined here with family and friends recently - we had a lovely experience. The menu offering was great, so many options to choose from! The staff were very attentive, Jonathan looked after us and made us feel very welcomed. Will definitely be back for another family dinner.

30/07/2026: Very disappointing - we were looking forward to our evening as have been patrons over many years and this was our first visit in some time. Food was very poor and we sent our mains back. Was disappointing that our feedback was challenged and minimum discount applied as we had to pay for dishes sent back largely uneaten. Food seemed to be pre prepared and not freshly made. . Very disappointed with the food and how our complaint was handled. Not a positive experience.

29/05/2026: A beautiful lunch in the bar followed by a soak in a hot bath gazing at the Celtic sea. It was a pure joyful experience. The staff were amazing, food was amazing and it is just blissful

12/07/2026: We had our Day Two celebrations at the Haven Hotel last Saturday and from start to finish, the experience was absolutely outstanding. From the very beginning, Grace and Karen made everything so easy to organise. Nothing was ever too much trouble, every question was answered quickly and they went above and beyond to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. On the day itself, Paul and Grace were absolutely exceptional. They had everything running seamlessly, were always one step ahead and made sure we never had to worry about a thing. The BBQ food was incredible. So many guests commented on how good it was and the service throughout the day was flawless. The staff were friendly, attentive and couldn’t do enough for us or our guests. The bar staff really looked after us, in particular Daryl was an absolute legend! And of course a big shout out to Riley the boxer, another guest favourite ❤️ We honestly couldn’t recommend the Haven Hotel highly enough. If you’re thinking of hosting a wedding Day Two or any special event, this is the place to do it. Thank you to Grace, Karen, Paul and the entire team for making it such a memorable day. You exceeded every expectation and we’re so grateful for everything you did.

05/07/2026: Although I didn't stay overnight, I was at the Haven Hotel for a concert and had a great night. The whole event was really well run and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. I loved the décor and the atmosphere throughout the hotel. The bathrooms were immaculate too, which I appreciate at a busy event. The real star of the show was Reilly, the resident Boxer dog. A fantastic venue for live music and look forward to returning for a stay.

30/07/2026: Hidden away this sandwich bar was exactly what we needed. Staff were incredibly friendly, kids had sausage rolls (warm) and I had the chicken Caesar bagel, all came with salad, crisps and choice of sauce. All food tasted and felt fresh. Would recommend for a quick bite to eat! Thanks ladies :)
