01/11/2025: Very busy place, but staff was very helpful in finding a place and very efficient service. The Menue is quite extensive for such a small place and food was good, as was the coffee. Altogether a very pleasant experience

20/12/2025: I have to post an update to my previous review. Our latest visit to Supermacs was a completely different, and wonderful, experience. The staff were far friendlier and more attentive than before. But what truly made our day was an act of kindness that went above and beyond. My son, who is autistic, was trying to open the door to the stairs. A staff member (a lovely female employee whose name I unfortunately didn't catch) didn't just open the door—she kindly and safely carried him up the stairs herself. This simple act of kindness has changed my view.

26/04/2026: I’m always on the lookout for places that deliver both quality and consistency—and this spot definitely stands out. The garlic bread is a must-try: perfectly crisp on the outside, generously topped, and packed with flavour. The real highlight, though, was the beef. While it may appear slightly dry at first glance, don’t let that fool you—it’s incredibly tender, juicy, and rich in flavour. Easily one of those dishes that exceeds expectations with the first bite. Overall, a very satisfying and comforting dining experience. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

12/03/2026: Food for 3. Prawn pasta was bland and overpriced. The chicken curry has minimal chicken. The beef and Guinness pie was good. Way overpriced. Wouldn't return.

15/05/2026: I ordered from the Marian on a very busy Friday evening, the delivery was very reasonable and quick. The staff I spoke to on the phone were so friendly and helpful. And the food was amazing!! Will absolutely be ordering again

29/03/2026: 4 of us had dinner in the Pier last night, for my sisters birthday . The food, the wine, the service was absolutely top notch, fab atmosphere and ambience. Thanks a million. We will be back .

15/03/2026: Stunning restaurant, food was amazing. The team there last night were superb, friendly, organised and so welcoming. The decor is spot on and the wine extensive. When back in the area this will be our place to go. Thank you once again to all the team!

27/04/2026: Ate there once with a group and it was lovely so booked again for me and my boyfriend. A totally different experience, staff were ok but much more welcoming to other tables as another reviewer said. The bistro was very cold, other diners were putting coats on. Our starters were fine, nothing exceptional; Caesar salad and bruschetta. Got 2 steaks for main, smothered in red wine jus which overpowered all flavour and a pathetic baked onion on the side, our chips never came despite me asking our waiter twice. Left hungry and so disappointed. A waste of €110

06/04/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Birthday Save at The Old Bank! I can’t thank the team at The Old Bank enough. I realized upon arrival that my booking for seven people hadn't gone through, and the restaurant was completely full. Instead of turning us away, the staff went above and beyond to quickly organize a private room for us so we could celebrate my dad’s birthday. * Service: Truly exceptional and incredibly accommodating. * Food: Absolutely delicious—every plate was a hit. They turned a stressful mistake into a perfect evening. High-class hospitality at its finest!

01/05/2026: We went for dinner here on a weeknight, so we were the only table sat. Our waitress was lovely, and the food was served promptly. I enjoyed my risotto, though my wife didn’t enjoy her boar pasta. She said it tasted like feet, which judging by the smell of it, wasn’t too far off. Other than that, it was an enjoyable experience. Not the most authentic Italian, but decent by Waterford’s standards. Average prices.

25/03/2026: Very unprofessional and caught in a lie. I was looking to buy a do-er upper home by myself , John said he would only be able take a bid if I did a structural report. Me being young , totally green and accommodating I accepted in paying €450 to one of his friends for a report. I could only make a renovation feasible if I would qualify for the home vacancy grant. Before I started any process with John I asked him, and also his wife on two occasions each …if the house was vacant for 2yrs. They assured me it was each time , then once I got the report done and put in a few bids, he contacted my mortgage broker to recommend that it would not be a “feasible investment” for me. My mortgage broker pulled support immediately for any potential renovation,and then John rang me a day later to say that unfortunately the house wasn’t in fact vacant with two years afterall. He told me he had a cash buyer ready to go more on the bidding, and was eager to close as it was a bank sale. I was quite disgusted and disappointed …and knowing I was being misled ,I gave up. A day or so later I knocked on a few doors of some very helpful neighbours, they got me in contact the seller of the property (who was extremely obliging) … they assured me it most definitely wasn’t a bank sale…and that they were not in any rush whatsoever to close. I wished the person luck with the sale and just stated I simply wanted to find out if I was misled or not. Unprofessional and misleading. I may be young,but I worked hard ,saved hard and am very honest with anyone I come across.A very unpleasant experience

18/03/2026: It was a pleasure to have dealt with Tom. He agreed to meet us on a Saturday morning before Christmas to allow us a viewing of the house that interested us. It was so easy to contact him directly by phone and when the keys were being handed over, it was a lovely touch to receive a card and a bottle of prosecco as well.

13/04/2026: A great place for people with lighter skin tone. Souths asian might not feel welcomed there by certain staff members. Hi Sarah, Editing the same reveiw as google isn’t allowing me to reply to your response. I have been to this place multiple times myself, and yourself have been very kind with us, along with most of your staff. Its just that when I visited the cafe this Saturday, dated 11-04-2026, around an hour or so before closing time, one of the staff member who took the order was not very pleasant. Now it could be that it was the end of there shift but then, I wasn’t the only one who felt like that, my friends were also able to notice it. And just to share it here as the last thing, we got a new friend with us who we insisted on visiting this place just because how much we like it. Let’s just say the first impression of the cafe was not something we would have expected.
