01/05/2025: Had a lovely evening at Minnies. The atmosphere was relaxed and just right for a chill Monday night. Shoutout to the barman holding it all together - friendly, quick, and knew what he was doing. I’ll definitely be back.

21/04/2025: Ye should be ashamed of the bouncers ye have employed. Blood cold sober and denied access for no reason and refused a explanation !!!!

14/08/2025: Absolutely love this cafe! The coffee is top-notch – Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of both the drinks and the food. The interior is really nicely done too – clean, cozy, and a great place to relax or catch up with friends. Service is always quick and friendly, which makes a big difference. Definitely one of my go-to spots now. Highly recommend!

07/08/2025: Superb latte & tasty cakes with friendly service. I really enjoyed resting here & relaxing after hectic tour of surrounding attractions. Just off beaten track but so close to centre of town.

04/10/2025: Visited on a saturday nights with my partner. Friendly, welcoming staff & cosy atmosphere. Not a great choice on the menu unfortunately. Either seafood or 1 steak dish. Expensive & probly suited to seafood lovers.

20/08/2025: I booked a group dinner for my birthday. The staff were very attentive and helpful with securing an available time slot. They regularly checked in with me by ringing me to confirm numbers throughout the week leading up to the booking. I thought this was very thoughtful of them. However, on the night the service was very poor. The orders for food and drink were taken quickly which was good. The main courses were brought out promptly. The plates were cleared before people were finished their meals and a few of the party were being haruanged about whether they were finished. The desserts took an hour and a half, and half were brought out and the other half afterwards. The wait staff snapped at me when we asked for the other desserts. At the point of payment, it was not mentioned to me at the time of booking, over the phone when they contacted me, when we arrived and were seated nor was there any visible signage that we could not pay separately. The owner of the restaurant, an older Irish woman, shouted at my friend when she tried to request that the party of 13 people could pay separately and brought up how it was not mentioned at any point leading up to us paying. The staff continuously interrupted and cut across us every time we tried to list out what we ordered and jumped ahead to say that we had to take for xyz drinks etc. Overall the food tasted incredible however the atmosphere created by the rudeness of the staff and the delay of food was unpalatable. I would not be coming back here, even just for a date as the experience was unpleasant and we had the feeling of being rushed out the door.

20/08/2025: We went here for my best friends birthday. The food was lovely but that was the only positive. The food was late and staggered arriving from the kitchen; meaning we all couldn’t eat at the same time. When we questioned where the desserts were, we were barked at and told to sit back down. When we finished food; me and my boyfriend had to leave early, we wanted to pay separately. This was ok however when I went to tell the girl my order and what I had, she cut across me and said the waitress will tell me. I found this very insulting as I would never give an incorrect order when paying. The waitress continued to interrupt us each time we went to tell her our order to which I responded, I know my order I don’t need you to tell me like I’m not gonna pay. The staff were ignorant, very abrupt and made the atmosphere extremely unpleasant for those who remained behind for my friends birthday. I will not be going back here and tbh this restaurant left a sour taste in my mouth. They say 1st impressions are key. This was my 1st and last time going to La Fontana. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone, life is too short for bickering!

18/08/2025: At first I requested take out and was told no. Bear in mind I was ordering nearly €70 worth of food so I thought an exception might have been made if you want my business. Everywhere else was closed on Sunday so decided to stay put and the long wait to get served ensued. So I went to the til to order but was told the waitress would be with me shortly.....there was 6 people in the place🤷‍♂️ my wife and kids arrived shortly after and we were asked to move up the the corner, out of the way basically. No drinks offered, no ask of do we need anything. A very unfriendly place and not accommodating at all. Won't be returning

14/10/2025: We stayed in the tower hotel for a weekend break The room was top quality, The hotel is in a great location on the quays to stroll around waterford city. Attractions nearby include the medieval museum the vikings tour among others. The pier 37 food was just great waiting staff was awesome and they were very welcoming and attentive throughout the service. Great hotel, will come back.

08/10/2025: Room was clean and tidy, decor needed some bits of attention but was largely fresh. Staff friendly, pricing was reasonable and breakfast was good.

21/12/2024: Really disappointing experience. Table in the corner was breezy. Group beside us were loud and just drinking, vaping in the snug and shouting about where they would buy a bag that night. Male staff were very friendly. One female server gave a glass of Prosecco to the table overflowing and spilling down the side. Then slammed two of the main courses onto the table. Never asked did we need sauce salt vinegar for chips and fish. Food itself was nice but desserts were way overpriced €9.50 for a tiny cheesecake, not worth it. Service doesn’t match the food and price doesn’t match service. Won’t be back

14/08/2025: ⸻ I had poached eggs with bacon, toast, tomatoes, fries, and an Americano coffee. Everything was delicious! The plates were big, and the chef was so friendly and polite. The place has a nice atmosphere, fresh food, and fast service. I loved it and I totally recommend it!

10/10/2025: The dream wedding venue that we could have only wished for. This was unlike any venue we’d seen before (and we’ve been to a lot!). The pictures speak for themselves, but what deserves a callout is the amazing hospitality and welcome faces that greeted every one of our guests throughout the stay. The privacy and closeness afforded by the island, the lodges and the clubhouse were unrivalled. It truly felt like we had our own space to celebrate with the people who mattered most to us. Gillian, the castle’s wedding coordinator, made sure that everything ran as smoothly as possible. Her expertise were evident from day 1 as she made sure every base was covered, putting us at complete ease so all we had to do was focus on ourselves on the day. Antonio who managed the service was also fantastic and willing to help at every opportunity (extending even outside of his remit). We couldn’t have asked for a better team to work with. A surefire consideration for couples looking to add something completely unique and inherently Irish to their special day. Not a bad word to say. I wish we could do it all again! Aaron & Antonia

08/10/2025: There is no question that the location of this hotel is second to none. Stunning surroundings and the castle itself looks like something from a movie when you pull up. The food is amazing, one of the best meals we had on our trip. The service was also very good. My issue is that the hotel is very rundown and old. Items broken, worn out, threadbare carpeting everywhere, broken elevator, no HVAC so a constant damp feeling and odor. It needs a complete overhaul inside. That said, it is a magical place location and with some renovation will be hard to beat.
