The best restaurants in Waterford

18/08/2026: Baked goods are amazing in here, a real treat 🙂. We tried the almond croissant, cinnamon bun, brownie & their sourdough loaf - all delicious. Only downside is their coffee - unfortunately, it was very bland on the flavour and they burnt the milk for the flat whites we ordered, giving us a very weak, very milky frothy mess 🥴, bit of a let down given the quality of their baking. Seating is limited, it's just a few stools and high bar along the wall, so come and grab the pastries/breads for take away 👍

25/04/2026: I've been to some of the nicest coffee spots around the country including Proper Order in Dublin and can honestly say I've had the nicest cup of coffee of my life so far here. Whatever you're doing keep doing it, fantastic coffee.

26/03/2026: Really good spot. Pizzas, sandwiches and coffee are all as good as you’d get anywhere in Ireland. Lovely vibe in there also. Thoroughly recommend.

28/05/2026: Visited with my family for food and drinks only, not the hotel stay. The location and views are absolutely beautiful — on a sunny day it genuinely felt more like being somewhere in Spain than Ireland. The atmosphere and seaside setting are definitely the highlight of this place. Unfortunately, the food and service did not match the location. The prices were quite high for the quality received — for example, the fish of the day with chips was €23 and quite disappointing. We also had to ask twice for additional drinks and the order was still ignored, which made the experience frustrating. Overall, a lovely place for the views and atmosphere, but the food and service need improvement.

31/05/2026: We had a lovely stay at the Viking Hotel Waterford. It is a very nice, quiet hotel that provides a perfectly relaxing environment. ​ ​Our room was incredibly comfortable and featured nice, cozy beds that ensured a great night's sleep. ​The reception staff were absolutely superb—welcoming, efficient, and very helpful. ​It is in a highly convenient location, making it easy to get around the area. ​ ​Breakfast: They serve a decent breakfast with a good variety to start your day off right. ​ ​With its combination of comfort, great service, and convenience, the Viking Hotel is a wonderful choice when staying in Waterford. We would happily stay here again!

25/08/2026: I ordered 2 pizzas, cheese and the other pepperoni. It was the worst pizza ever. Barely any cheese and 4 slices of pepperoni. Really? €21 was completely wasted on it.

17/08/2026: Travelled down for the day from Wexford, Food was excellent, especially gluten free pizza, nicest I've ever had, catered for kids gluten free meals as well. Staff were very friendly and efficient for such a busy spot. Will be back

16/08/2026: Dodgy place or bad staff, who knows. We walked in to this place noting the big sign on the window stating their lunch menu with most things going for €8.99, awesome price. We went in, they had their regular menus on the tables but we had taken a photo of the lunch menu and picked items off that. At paying, they charged us full price saying we didnt state it was from the lunch menu, even though we were there at lunch menu time and picked items on that menu. Completely false advertising and an absolute rort. The food is not worth the full price and has now dampened and otherwise lovely day. Pathetic.

19/05/2026: Luggage service was provided at check-in and check-out. Changing rooms was no problem, as we were unable to use the stairs due to mobility issues. Breakfast was excellent and the service throughout was superb. Best regards, Beate and Marie

18/05/2026: Stayed here with my parents to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday. The team couldn't do enough for them, everyone was so friendly and helpful. Ross carried all their luggage from the car to their room - both parents have walking sticks. Leanne was also a smiling helpful lady. Karen our waitress had such a lovely way with her and kept the one liners coming which charmed my parents. They love the banter! The rooms were fantastic, comfortable, well appointed and recently refurbished. The supervisor at breakfast was excellent too, we didn't catch his name but he was another real asset. We caught him about to head out to the car with my parents luggage in the rain, just stopped him in time - we had coats he didn't! This has got to be the friendliest hotel in ireland! Well done everyone, you aced the customer journey 👏🏻

24/06/2026: Attended a wedding at The Suir Inn, all I can say is WOW a fantastic setting for a wedding. Service in bar was excellent This was their 1st wedding and I would strongly recommend the venue

18/06/2026: I had lunch here for the first time yesterday and I think it’s now my favourite place! The pies are incredibly tasty, there’s a good selection of food and the staff are so friendly! I also found out that it’s a real local café with a long history, which makes me respect the place and its owners even more. One of the nice perks – and probably one of the most important ones – is that you get a proper, tasty lunch, just like at home, for a modest price 😻

19/02/2026: I go here regularly for my lunch and i must say the the food and staff are all amazing. Fantastic value for a fresh and delicious selection of cold and hot meals to suit your mood.
