The best restaurants in Cork city council

01/06/2026: Very light atmosphere. People are friendly. Bartenders are sociable. (kudos to Yannick and Aoibhe) We enjoyed our night.

30/05/2026: I was at this bar with friends to celebrate a birthday. While we were seated outside a lady came to the outdoor area asking for money. When we told her no she procedeed to use derogatory language in the faces of impalas customers. This all of happened directly infront of the security staff. The lady noticed the bouncer and aproached him with a hug which the security staff reciprocated. Then the lady kept going across the tables and left her beer can on our table. This was notified to a staff member who recommended to leave the can on our table in case she came back. The staff member was worried in case she came back to find her beer can was not there and this would make her angry. As a result, we ended up minding her beer can until we left. The fact they allowed people to just walk up to their customers asking for money and being disrespecful towards their clients made me feel very unconfortable. This all happened infront of the bouncer.

28/05/2026: Came with a tour bus. Even though they knew we were coming, they were not prepared. The two servers had no idea where to take it. Only options for the pub were pizza or salad.

18/05/2026: I had a fantastic stay at Cork's Vienna woods hotel. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are very spacious. There is a restaurant and bar at the hotel. I really enjoyed the location of the hotel.

28/06/2026: This place is a must. Great old pub and the staff are great too.

17/04/2026: The place I would recommand to a friend. Definitely go! Cosy, nice decoration and the owner is really sweet!

22/06/2026: I am taking into consideration that it was an evening of a concert in Pairc u Chaoimh and understandably only burgers were being served outside which would have been perfect except the quality was shocking . We got a burnt bun , not exaggerating, the inside of buns were black having being over grilled, they had run out of the relishes such as onions and cucumbers and also out of ketchup. So we paid €60 for 6 beef patties with 6 burnt buns. There didn’t appear to be anyone in charge checking to ensure the young girl doing the grilling was coping. Appreciate it was a busy evening but surely that was to be expected so could have been better prepared .

23/07/2026: This has to be the most aesthetically pleasing store ive ever been in 😀 the lay out and the colours are perfect 👌 everything has its own station and it is run like clockwork . Absolutely love this store

26/07/2026: So much fun for a night out. Staff are very happy to give rookies any needed greyhound racing pointers. Bar well appointment with a friendly crew briskly dispensing pints. Exceeded all my expectations!

29/06/2026: Great shop with a very nice deli. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Great selection of pizza bases, sausages and rashers in the fridge

12/05/2026: Found myself in Blackrock today and happened across On a Platter Deli. The coffee is so good I can't even begin to describe it, I would drive out of my way just for another one really soon. Had a beautiful sandwich which was freshly made and have to say 10 out of 10 all round. The service was super, happy and attentive staff, the selection was more than ample (everything from Vegan delights to meat lovers dreams) and the real family feel to the shop means I would definitely be back. Thank you On a Platter for making my day.

23/07/2026: Got the Ceasar salad, full rack of ribs, and a side of chips. Meat of the ribs just fell off the bone, deliciously, salad was crispy and creamy in all the best ways, and chips were done perfect. The staff were very friendly (Aaron served us and his service was top notch). I ate all the food too fast so I forgot to take a picture, but I’ll include a pic of the receipt to prove I’ve actually been here. In the hot weather, the outdoor seating area was perfect, the fairy lights set a lovely vibe, the prices were very very reasonable, and to top everything off, we were served at one point by a robot!

15/07/2026: Great restaurant that's been popular for many years! Good variety on the menu and everything done to a high standard. The staff are very efficient and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Have been there many times. Booking recommended!

07/06/2026: This pub used to be one of my favourites in Cork and the management changed, now it looks like be running by teens, poor service, very awkward behaviour, basic unwelcoming environment. This pub is not as busy as used to be and people probably is avoiding to be there.

07/04/2026: Loaded fries with bbq chicken are a amazing and a proper portion for after a long walk.

05/04/2026: Came here the other night for the arcade and some karaoke. Honestly, the best night I had out in Cork recently. The young lady working in the karaoke was especially friendly and makes a great mojito! Thanks for a great night.

05/04/2026: It is a small pub in the street One gentle man I have met in here bought me four pints of Murphy’s and it was incredible ! I could hardly understand his strong Irish accent but we had a great conversation.

19/07/2026: Im not one to leave reviews but my experience tonight left me no choice. Delivery driver was very aggressive, blaming me for sending him to the wrong postcode. When he arrived I asked him to show me his delivery address and it was 100% my house and postcode. Again got aggressive with both me and my girlfriend. Not alone that the chips we got were more frozen then cooked. I have numerous photos if needed. Do not get delivery from this bang average chipper. Entire experience a disgrace

13/07/2026: Went down today for 2 milkshakes, the staff member on the drive through speaker asked me did I want cream on them when I said no. Went to collect at the window and 2 milkshakes were sitting there full of cream. I said to the staff member that I actually had asked for no cream and he replied "really" and said I have to wait for a new one. I told him I didn't mind as I'm allergic to cream and would have to wait anyways he threw his eyes up at me and walked away. He returned to the window with the two milkshakes clearly with new lids on them and the cream scraped off and I can still see the lumps floating in it after I told the staff member I'm allergic. I might as well have thrown the €12 in the bin rather than get an allergic reaction to it i'm absolutely appalled.
