The best restaurants in Cork city council

06/08/2025: Listen, I came here for a quick coffee and a snack. I did not expect to have a spiritual awakening via latte art and a grilled cheese that brought tears to my eyes. First off, the coffee art here isn’t just a pretty leaf—oh no. I got a full-blown swan with wings so detailed it looked like it had career ambitions. My friend got a cat stretching in a sunbeam. I don’t know what kind of wizardry they’re pulling behind that espresso machine, but I half expected the barista to pull out a paintbrush and start taking commissions. And the toasties? Good heavens. I ordered the Ham & Cheese and what arrived was basically a crispy, golden love letter to dairy. Crunchy on the outside, molten cheesy poetry on the inside. I bit into it and forgot all my problems, including but not limited to my student loans, and the existential dread of Mondays.

06/08/2025: Absolutely love this cafe! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a perfect balance of cozy seating and bright natural light. My cappuccino was smooth, rich, and beautifully presented by Martyna and the banana bread is always fresh and delicious. The baristas here always greet you with a warm smile and you can tell they care about every customer that walks in. It’s rare to find a place with coffee this good and the best staff behind it all!

13/12/2024: Lovely place for a pint, Willie junior and senior are very welcoming. Theres a Dart board or pool table and when the fire is on it's hard to leave the place.

14/09/2025: My friend got food poisoning from the fish and chips and has been veryy sick for days and days! :(

22/08/2025: Exactly what you want for a late night, post-pub recovery mission. The guys even threw in some complementary chips when I only ordered the fish. Had to chuckle at the leftover covid measures that were still up on the counter.

07/09/2025: Really really disappointing place in general. The interior was quite dingy and stuffy. The place looks quite careless thrown together with random stuff on the walls and a pool table that it is not in use. A group and I tried to watch an Irish soccer game there one night. The commentary was 5 seconds behind the visuals and one of the screens was glitching. The women insisted everyone at our table bought something when actually 4 out of 5 of us bought something. She was quite rude, blunt and ill mannered. It really made us feel uncomfortable, unwanted and unappreciated. Out of the 100s of great pubs in Cork, this is definitely one of the to avoid.

18/07/2025: Though I've never been a customer of this bar. The auld one who runs the bar needs to realise that the bar does not own the parking space outside the bar and by placing kegs outside the premises, does not mean that the general public cannot park there. The woman who works there shouting abuse at me last week which was totally uncalled for.

31/07/2025: Fab shop with a great product variety. However girl on till hasn't a clue. Asked for a specific popular item but she directed me to a completely different isle. After wandering around o finally found what I was looking for. for the lack of product knowledge I'll be only leaving 4 stars

23/07/2025: Got served elastic and rubbery chicken. curry was just fine. Atmosphere is not hygienic at all and so does the food. Would never recommend.

30/09/2025: Absolutely terrible. Ordered a mchicken sandwich meal for a friend, had to return it, nothing only a load of mayo and dried up chicken. Don't usually post negative reviews but I see loads here already.

16/09/2025: Very mediocre burger, patties dripping in oil. Didn't feel well after eating it. Chips were alright. The size of a burger tho, quite pathetic. For a place that does only burgers, I expected sth better, while I'd rather go to Burger King next time and get 2 small burgers except one for this price.

02/07/2025: Every single time I go to this place they get my order wrong, and it takes at least two tries to get it right. All I ever order from here is a plain halloumi burger with sweet chilli sauce NOT sweet chilli mayo and Every single time i either get a burger with sweet chilli mayo or with everything on it. Is it really that difficult to make a plain burger with sauce?

05/09/2025: Linen weaver JD Wetherspoon was such a nice place for food and free refills of Coffee. Very great place to sit with a soulmate and on my own in recent years. Such a sweet memory 💖 from 2016 to 2018. Hard to believe Linen Weaver is closed now, would wish they can reopen sometime in near future. 21/03/2025: Where have Sicilian Delights been all my life! Went to the Marina Market yesterday and asked for a Takeaway Lasagna. The lovely lady behind the counter packaged it all up for me. Gave me extra sauce in a cup and cheese with the reheating instructions on top - it was beyond divine and I'm a lasagna woman anywhere I see it (I'm on par with Garfield). It was so beyond my expectations - I'll be back for more every time when I'm in Cork every few weeks. The chef needs a pay rise for that quality of food!

01/02/2025: The pasta was great here before they changed the menu. They have now upped the prices from €9 to €13 & reduced the portions. It is no longer fresh and now they serve a reheated pasta bake. Very disappointed 😞😞😞

27/09/2025: I waited 15 minutes for my order, it was only a cheese toast, I can understand everything, but waiting 15 minutes for toast is a very long time, I went up to them several times and asked where my order was, and it turned out that they hadn’t even prepared it, and only after I asked about the order, they started preparing it.

23/09/2025: The service was outstanding. The waitress(friendly girl with glasses) delivered my coffee to my table and showed super customer service.

12/08/2025: Ill caveat this all with i am not sure of the price point in the area. Got fried rice and chicken curry. 18 euros of there abouts. Served quickly, staff where friendly, this is where the positive experience ends. Chicken was awful, dry, tasteless and like it was added to a curry sauce made from granules, but still too watery. Rice wasn't great, stodgy, over cooked. Onions on the other hand were good, but I didn't order an onion curry. It's a tourist spot, so maybe they dont rely on repeat trade. Honestly, I'd avoid. Its not good, but not terrible - but that is a low bar.

24/10/2025: Me and my partner had dinner here on the first night of our stay at the hotel and we were very impressed with the quality of food and the impeccable service from our waiter Jiyan. Will definitely be dining here again. The only thing I would criticise would be that it was a little cold so I had to grab a jumper from the hotel room and I even spotted a women on the table next to us wearing a coat!

17/10/2025: One of our favorite breakfast is at the four hotels we were at. Especially for a vegan which can be limited in the free breakfast in hotels around town, but they had a really good tofu scramble on toast.
