The best restaurants in Cork city council

18/10/2024: AVOID. Ahora venda por la porción. Básicamente más del doble del precio. Es una completa farsa. El comercio parece haberse ido, pedí rodajas para los niños y era el único cliente en una calle de viernes 7 pm desde que llegué al Mercado Negro hasta que me fui.

19/09/2024: Unfortunately we chose to dine here tonight 18/09/24, I ordered beef curry&rice, my partner ordered prawn curry with rice and a bottle of house wine to share @€22 total bill just shy of €57, my partners prawns and rice were fine but the curry sauce was like runny yellow vomit with a few frozen peas chucked in, my beef was like leather, it was so sub standard that my Jack Russell 🐕 would struggle to get his teeth into it, I requested to speak to the chef to relay my dissatisfaction, but the waitress informed me that the chef was new and he doesn't speak/engage with customers or entertain their valid complaints/concerns but as a gesture of good will she offered to reduce our bill by €4 euro. In my honest humble opinion this is the worst Chinese restaurant that I have ever dined in, I have never in my lifetime left negative feedback for any restaurant or hostilely that I have visited and if it was possible to leave zero stars then I would have. I have no problems with the waitresses as they were very professional and efficient, but when the chef treats you with utter contempt and fails to address the issues at hand, that I do have a problem with, the food was sub standard and to me that's taking my hard earned cash under false pretences, by dishing up what's basically junk food. I do sincerely hope they learn some little bit from my honest feedback. We were the only two patrons in the restaurant at this time tonight. I wonder why??

16/03/2025: The prawn baked potato was delicious! Perfectly seasoned, with a great mix of flavors and a crispy skin. The service was friendly and fast, and the atmosphere at Marina Market was lively and welcoming. A great spot for tasty food!

24/03/2025: Without knowing that they were closing in 10', me and my husband came for a coffee. We ordered 2 coffees and one cake each. We had just sat down when one of the girls came to us and said that they were closing. I told her that we had just arrived and we had not been informed that they were closing. She didn't let me talk, she just kept on saying "I didn't place your order, we are closed" very disrespectfully. I suggested that it would be nice for the next time to let customers know in advance, and she shouted "we are closed". There are two girls there, one very respectful (blonde girl), the other one wearing glasses was totally disrespectful and incomprehensive.

10/03/2025: Nice ambience and very clean, but the cappuccino was disappointing and tasted of burnt coffee beans. It was quite, but freezing cold.

23/02/2025: The bartender was very nice and made a great suggestion for an alternative when they were out of what we ordered. The place has a distinctly smoky smell, when mixed with the musty scent it was not the most pleasant place to enjoy a pint. The ladies’ restroom was down a long and dark corridor. We were there in the afternoon, so can’t speak to the atmosphere in the evening. A few gambling machines inside. Quite a few locals having a pint. Not my favorite, but might be great for someone looking for a local dive bar.

03/01/2025: Cracking wee local pub. Fast service, good beer and definitely a pub that's not went all in to attract tourists.

18/01/2025: Had our table booked and shown too it that was grand, was left sitting there for ages and eventually had to look for someone too actually serve us. Food came fast and was delicious, can not fault the food what so ever it was perfect 👌. But then strangely I'm the middle of eating our dinner the woman came back and asked would we like to pay cash or card and stood there until I paid? I did not appreciate that at all it was very rude. But what ever about the service I would go back for the food it was 100%

21/11/2024: Ordered the bacon cheese burger and fries and a SF chicken burger and fries via deliveroo yesterday. My partner's SF chicken burger tasted good. Halfway through eating my own beef based bacon cheese burger I found the flavour a bit "funny" but didn't think much of it. Circa an hour later I felt extremely unwell. I could not sleep from the level of nausea and this morning still felt very poorly. Once I ate today, I immediately felt nauseous again and have thrown up twice. I fear there must have been some form of cross contamination, bad meat or a bacteria issue in their kitchen. I'm feeling utterly wretched and the only thing that my partner and I have have eaten differently the last few days was my beef burger versus their SF burger so it must be the burger that has caused this.

12/01/2025: I am ABSOLUTELY APPALLED by the service my family member got today !! We are regulars for years and that is the way they were treated today, and for it the be the owner to have that reaction towards a regular customer is an absolute disgrace. The ladies that work there are fantastic they always greet you with a smile, but safe to say because of the owner!! they will NOT be getting a thing from us after that. I’m sickened!!

17/12/2024: Old Style chipper. 2 Cod 12 euros large chips 4.50. Best chips in Glanmire. Best Fish in Glanmire. Excellent value.

30/03/2025: Spent nearly 40 euros on a takeaway only for it to come over an hour late . My wifes dish was dried out and no joke completely unedible. My own dish .just because I asked for no veg I got like 4 pieces of chicken in a half portion of the chicken curry dish .. . Honestly will never order from there ever again. It's an honest review

21/02/2025: A fabulous restaurant the reviews weren’t lying when they gave it 4.3stars. Well maybe they were because I’d give it 5 stars but maybe that was because by chance we had the early bird menu and talk about value for money. Highly recommended

15/03/2025: Had been in Ireland for three months and few days before going back home, I stopped here to have breakfast before taking the bus. NEVER HAD a better brownie. Made my return even harder😅 Lovely place!

16/03/2025: Brilliant stall in the marina market. The service is great and very helpful. I want sure if I wanted a full or half chicken so they gave me half and half. What a great service!

03/01/2025: The least efficient place I’ve ever seen. The line isn’t long because of the food but because it doesn’t move. We split up and we each got in a different line for food. I had my food from a busy stall and sat and watch my partner stand in line for ages. We switched places between the line and the food I already had. We gave up when we had finished the other meal. Seriously someone with restaurant training needs to help them figure out basic efficiency. Comically slow.
