The best restaurants in Cork city council

10/08/2025: I went to the restaurant at Marina Market and had a terrible experience. Terrible customer service. The waiter seemed impatient and hostile, and he was angry. The food was good, but I'll still never go back.

09/08/2025: I love coming here with friends for tea and shisha. Ali is always friendly and helpful, and the cheese kunafa is absolutely delicious. Perfect place for hangout and a catch up!

22/08/2025: Terrible experience asked for a small dash of caramel sauce in a vanilla milkshake for my Autistic son and the manager Oshan was so so rude and refused to accommodate us. Every other McDonald's we have been to has done this for us no problem. It's so disappointing

18/08/2025: Ate the "vegan" chicken dish, pretty sure I had chicken in it though... definitely had egg in my rice! I could barely understand the girl behind the counter, she spoke so quietly. At least it's one of the cheaper places to eat, so if you're looking for a good price-food ratio, this place is fine, just don't expect them to stick with any dietary restrictions. Also you will get paper plates and forks even when you eat inside which is super wasteful. They even served the rice on an extra plate.

23/08/2025: I have just left the internet cafe and am absolutely disgusted in what they are charging. I was on an old computer for a few minutes only to fill out an online form and they charged me six euros. I got no printing or no paperwork whatsoever, am outraged at the new ownership there. Daylight robbery, no thanks shame on ye.

22/08/2025: The place has changed alot sense it changed owners. Knowledge of pc workings needs to be updated. Cafe on site with food and coffee.

29/06/2025: We just called in for a quick drink. It is quite large and spacious, no problem getting a seat. We didn't have food so I can't comment on that. Really nice place.

08/06/2025: Disappointing customer service.. We attended a charity event at the Castle tonight and had a fantastic time overall—the band and food truck were excellent. Unfortunately, our experience was soured by poor service at the cocktail bar. I had to call the owner, Ronan, to get a bartender to attend to us. We ordered six Pornstar Martinis (€78 total), but when they arrived, they were undrinkable. When we raised this with the bartender, she simply said, “That’s how we serve them.” I spent 30 minutes trying to find Ronan again and was eventually told he was likely in his office. When I finally spoke with him and showed him the untouched drinks, he asked, “What do you want?” I asked for a refund since we couldn’t drink them. His response? “Get your refund and get out.” After such a lovely evening, I left feeling shocked and disappointed by Ronan’s rude and dismissive attitude. When my partner confronted him about his behaviour toward me, Ronan didnt speak to him like he did with me .It’s hard not to feel that he reacted this way simply because I’m a woman challenging him on poor service. Ronan, your response was unprofessional and unacceptable. I expected better.

30/08/2025: Genuinely the nicest food I have ever had and I am fond of food. It was phenomenal from start to finish. The staff were very friendly and highly knowledgeable. Lovely atmosphere, ticked all the boxes. Will most certainly be returning!

12/08/2025: I visited Milano on Oliver Plunkett and had an extremely poor experience. I understand that guests should wait to be shown to a table, which I did without any problem. The restaurant was not busy at all — in fact, it was quite the opposite. After being seated and given the menu, I timed exactly 15 minutes waiting for a server to take my order. I even called out to them. The staff were not busy attending to other customers; they were standing a bit further ahead, talking in the back section of the restaurant. I was seated near the entrance. I raised my hand to call a waiter, and one person said they would come back — but never did. In the end, I simply stood up and left. While I have eaten there before and the food was fine, on this occasion I left without ordering. When I’m paying for a meal, the minimum I expect is polite and attentive service. I understand if a place is packed and the staff are overwhelmed — that’s perfectly fine. But this was mid-afternoon, around 2 p.m., and the restaurant was empty. To me, the lack of service was unacceptable, and I would not return.

11/08/2025: Love returning here. It's a great menu, new choices regularly. Staff are lovely and welcoming.

17/01/2025: Had a Irish ham, salad sandwich , which was fine and tasty. Also choose a spiced apple slice, equally as fine and tasty!

14/01/2025: We mentioned this bakery, in the ratings for the park. Really nice food and drink, it's just a shame we don't live closer, so we can go every weekend.

29/08/2025: We weren’t expecting much of Aye, to be honest. We just met a couple of friends there to grab a couple of pints and, by the end of it, we were in awe with their food. We started by ordering the crispy sushi rice and they were incredibly tasty with just the right amount of spice to it. After that, we noticed we were still hungry, so we ordered two other dishes to nibble at while drinking: the Garlic & Chilli Atlantic Prawns and the Shredded Chicken. The Atlantic Prawns were very good, but a bit expensive for its size (€16). But the Shredded Chicken was the highlight of the evening. Incredibly tasty and its price was very good for its portion size. The staff serving us were very efficient and super friendly during the whole evening and I wish I knew their names because they deserve the compliments and recognition.

10/06/2025: Me and two of my friends went out for something quick to eat and drink. The food was fabulous and the service was quick and very pleasant. The atmosphere was lovely. Couldn't be happier. We've had the charcuterie board, smashed potatoes and spicy king prawns. All were top-notch 👌
