The best restaurants in Cork city council

10/04/2025: The Best Hot Chocolate is to be had at this Coffee house. I was offered a mix of Dark and Milk Chocolate that was carefully mixed together which made for a very rewarding and enjoyable Hot Chocolate. Every other Hot Chocolate I have had since then,just tastes like Watery Milk. So Thanks Blue House Coffee for taking the time to make such a Great Hot Chocolate,so from here on in,my Hot Chocolate experience will be reserved for Blue House Coffee.✋️✋️ On top of all that the service is great and there is a lovely community atmosphere.❤️❤️❤️

14/03/2025: We were here at 0800 to get coffee and something to eat before our bus, but they were out of everything except one single pastry. The flat whites only came in regular size, and they were quite small for the cost. I was disappointed after reading the reviews.

04/05/2025: Tried to eat there last night and it was PACKED! Had my dinner there tonight so…upon entering I was accommodated at a table that was reserved; yes I was informed it was reserve for 2 hrs later. Fair as I was alone so it wasn’t an issue. The staff were exceptional! So kind and considerate. My meal came SO fast & thank goodness for that because I was starving. My salad was fresh and tasty! Nice chunks of avocado too. My chicken supreme was SO SO GOOD! I normally don’t eat cauliflower so I gave it a taste tonight and ended up eating it. That goes to show on how well prepared everything was right down to the cauliflower. Highly recommend when in Cork!

15/04/2025: I was staying at the hotel for work and came to the restaurant hoping for a quick dinner before a busy evening. Unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. There was no one to greet me when I arrived, and I stood waiting for about five minutes before another guest kindly informed me I should just seat myself. I wasn’t given a menu and had to go to the bar to ask for one. Service was very slow — it took a while for anyone to take my drink and food order. I ordered the pork belly and waited around 45 minutes before checking in, only to be told there had been delays due to a fire drill earlier that affected the gas supply. This hadn’t been mentioned when I ordered. When the food arrived (after about an hour), it was just okay. The pork belly was unfortunately overcooked and quite dry. I had originally planned to stay for dessert, but decided it wasn’t worth the extra time. If you’re staying here and hoping for a smooth, timely meal, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

29/05/2025: It’s gone down in my estimations. Food is thrown together and not half as nice as the naturaly nourished food in the city. Had a curry and the chicken was dry and there wasn’t much sauce either. Disappointed especially when it’s not cheap.

15/04/2025: Went here today 12 April 2025 for lunch , I chose the lasagna with tea to drink . Firstly the tea is 1 TWININGS tea bag with Barry's tea factory only 5 miles over the road . Milk for my tea was taken from the coffee machine it was warm and frothed like for cappuccino. The lasagna arrived 20 minutes later . First impression was it looked nice even if the portion size was small . The lasagna itself when you cut into it was made up of very cheap ingredients , the sauce was very acid. The beef was must have been thrown from the door by the chef because he missed . I could literally count the grains of beef, other than that it was all cheap tomato sauce and besciamelle sauce. I could have eat it with a soup spoon . At 17.95 for what they try and pass off as lasagna it is very much nothing short of a rip off . My wife who is Italian herself chose cannelloni and a coke zero to drink . Her experience was similar , swimming in cheap acidy tomato sauce and portion size small . The coke zero (€3.95) was flat ,not a bubble of fizz in it . To conclude there is nothing to say of good about this restaurant apart from the toilets were clean .in summary it uses the cheapest of ingredients and skimps even on them . As for the beef lasagna it could have been a vegetarian lasagna . The whole experience cost €42.80 . If I was to give an honest value of what it wad worth I would say around € 20.00. I could not recommend this place , if u find yourself hungry go somewhere else don't be extremely disappointed and ripped off MY RESPONSE TO OWNERS REPLY 15 APRIL 2025 you say you take these matters seruliously .... clearly you don't judging by previous reviews , you say you will pass on my concerns to your team and supply chain . I already mentioned it to the server when paying ( very reluctantly) the bill . Her response was because "we are part of a British chain " On Sunday I tried phoning your restaurant to report that my wife was very sick all night and Sunday to discover you don't answer phones . I left my name and number on the answering machine to be called back . I am still waiting . My impression is you don't care as long as you have the money . You don't accept customers genuine concerns as your server said " because you are part of a British chain ".

10/04/2025: Beautiful food great menu. V8sit made great with our absolutely fantastic server named Chelsea. She was so attentive nothing was too much for her very positive and friendly and made great recommendations for us. Very relaxed atmosphere We will be back

04/03/2025: Terrible, I ordered a lamb kebab with only lettuce and garlic sauce, I talked three times to the attendant, and he in front of me told the boy, and even so they gave me a kebab with all the ingredients, a lot of incompetence. I don't recommend it.

11/02/2025: Good fried chicken restaurant. Alternative for KFC. I would say better than KFC. Unfortunately last time I went to this restaurant they stopped Chicking. Now as an alternative they started pizza and shawarma. And also they sell South Indian dishes. South Indian dishes are the best. Need to try.

20/04/2025: I’ve been a regular at Willow Wilton for several years, and when it first opened, the food was exceptional. Sadly, the quality has noticeably declined this year, which is disappointing. I’d recommend giving it a miss for now.

11/04/2025: Absolutely disgusting place! Horrible staff refused to help after half of an £80 order was missing. Never order from here. Stay away at all costs.

03/01/2025: Ordered food for delivery on the website which I’ve done numerous times in the past without any hassle. The restaurant proceeded to ring and demand an extra five euro in cash or otherwise they wouldn’t deliver my food? This has to be illegal, could hear the delivery driver saying “this is bullshit” on the phone too. He also told the girl on the phone that where we lived was “ages away” which it isn’t obviously because the website allowed us to order it, and it had charged us €5 already for delivery. Used to order from here all the time but I’m going to order from Lucianos now instead.

07/02/2025: This is the best and nicest Chinese food in the nortside there satay is unreal I always get beef/chicken satay rice and chips. Huge portions and friendly staff. Especially maureen.

15/04/2025: I got the Prawn Udon. Plenty of prawns but too much sauce. Medium size is a bit on the smaller side. Lady at front- super nice but very busy with online orders, so they were turning customers away at 8.10pm( closing is 9pm). If all your meats are halal you should display it! And the boxes should be the ones you can open on both sides and turn into a plate- but that's just an idea.

14/04/2025: Exceptionally tasty food! I would definitely recommend to others! Very kind staff who provided my kids with free ice cream and a fortune cookie 🥠 ! Calm atmosphere and the guy I spoke to over the phone was very polite

02/02/2025: For the last 3 months since a man called James working there the shop has transformed, so organised extremely well stocked, he’s so helpful nothing he won’t help with , cheery attitude such a positive addition to apple green ☺️

19/01/2025: Food was decent, chips and curry were quite good but chips portion was way too small. People say it’s very cheap but the meal doesn’t include a drink and it was nearly €10 for 3 pieces of chicken and a tiny bit of chips, also the guy serving the food ate one of a customers chips before he served it to him, chicken was very dry but the coating and batter was delicious. Decent substitute to KFC.

29/05/2025: Very good coffee shop and very good for a morning stop for breakfast and to drink a quality coffee. I really liked the coffee. I am a fan of good coffee and I know what good coffee is and here you have it. My congratulations for transforming this place into a coffee shop of very high quality above average, despite the competition not liking it and trying to say otherwise, but time is the best thing to test the waters.

And the cheese , I think they got it in a packet across the road in the shopping centre. My Partner got chicken and chips with a curry sauce.. They. Could not have made the Corey sauce any more Watered down than it was.. my God... And to make it worse , this is my second time going down... I just thought I got a bad pizza the first time......that's a BIG NO
