12/10/2025: Contraf castle, is just a hidden gem.. Fabulous

02/10/2025: Took 17 minutes to get my 1st Guinness (and we visited at 3pm) I watched the poor girl, who was doing everything herself, pour my Guinness almost to the very top, before slamming it down. I had to remind her to top it off - worst point I've had in Ireland. Food was average - an expensive lesson learned.

17/11/2025: They really need to have a look at their bakery department. I ordered a Kinder Bueno Cake for my Mother's Birthday. Usually, you order and pay on the same day and you are given a docket with the cake specifications and date of collection but I left empty handed after insisting I wanted to pay now. After calling back the next day to confirm that the order is alright, I get told that they do not take orders because Supervalu Killester have to do it but yet, Supervalu Raheny has signs up saying "Order any cake for any celebration" EVERYWHERE!!! If I did not have the savvy to call back, I would not have a cake lmao. Do not advertise what you cannot deliver.

16/08/2025: High quality chipper. I don't usually get much take away but feel less guilty because the quality and taste is always amazing here.

15/10/2025: Food in here has become terrible ever since these new owners took over This place. Cleaboy chipper was one of the best chippers in the town by a mile. But ever since these new owners came the food has gone massively downhill especially in the last year or so,Also the price of food in here is absolutely ridiculous for the food that gets served. I highly recommend not to go here as there is plenty of better chipper's in waterford city.

20/09/2025: I only tried the chicken wrap, therefore I can only speak about that. It wasn't bad, but far from the best one I've had. The meat was a little bit too oily for my taste and didn't sit well in my belly. On the other hand, it's not expensive (atm), so that balances a bit. The service was fast, meaning that the staff is doing their best to serve every customer quickly enough. Overall, a good little spot for takeaway, if your expectations are not very high for the price.

07/11/2025: Found out my misses ordered from here got a sandwich, coffee and sausage roll. All I can say is don’t waste your money in this place!!!! Coffee she got was 300ml of hot water, sandwich if you can even call it that was anaemic chicken on 2 slices of bread and the “sausage roll” should contain more than a trace amount of meat!!!! Near €5 for a sausage roll that’s 99% pastry and is the size of a Golfball. Do yourself and everyone you know a favour and never go here!!!! Whole order was nearly €25 delivered. I’d sooner burn the money than return.

10/05/2025: I ordered a home made Tuna sandwich and it tasted great. The price is fine. It was not toasted when first time serviced. But it was toasted well when I requested. The seats are enough with great space.

24/11/2025: My friend ordered Shahi Paneer from this restaurant through Just Eat, and although both the receipt and container were labeled as vegetarian, the dish turned out to be chicken gravy. My friend is a strict vegetarian for religious reasons, so this was extremely upsetting and absolutely unacceptable. When they called the restaurant, the response was dismissive instead of apologetic. Mislabeling food — especially veg vs. non-veg — is a serious issue, not a small mistake. Very disappointing experience, and something that needs urgent attention from the management.

07/10/2025: I loved coming here they were the only place I've found that made real home made pancakes went in not long ago, and they removed the homemade pancakes and replaced them with the cheap American style nasty pancakes.... EDIT 6 months later I go in with my partner to check in an see if its the same l... its actually even worse since my first review they have changed the menu again to state home made pancakes but yet still serve American nasty style as home made false advertising in there menu now at least whe I first found out they weren't the same it said listed American style now it lists homemade but yet they are not home made 07/10/2025

09/10/2025: As a Dutch tourist who was told about "spicebags" i ofcourse was interested in trying it. And i LOVED the food, the chickenballs were nice and crispy on the outside and we're nicely cooked inside. The fries we're just right and had the right amount of veggies and spicy peppers. 10/10 if i ever come back I'd visit them again

07/09/2025: Order food ask no mushrooms and pepper, get home and what do you have exactly what you didn't want, ruined my night, course I can't go back and ask for my money 🤬🤬🤬🤬 won't be back.

08/12/2025: Well, we went there as a last resort because we planned to go somewhere else for a coffee, and my god we were surprised. The place is really great, coffee is fantastic (I had mocha) and their chocolate cheese cake is out of this world. I will be back there again.
