04/04/2025: I did not want to post this, but after a few days, it still haunts me. I've been going to this place for coffee, at least twice a week for the past 6 months since i came upon their great coffee. At first, the guy seemed pretty grumpy, but very soon, i found him and his wife very nice, and we would always have a joke or small talk every morning. They would even start prepping the coffee when they saw me and my friend walking towards the door. This until last Monday.. when i walked in by myself and was greeted by the guy and asked for the usual. He saw poking from my bag some crispy bread and said, " Oh, i see you are on crispy bread." I laughed it off and said im trying to cut the carbs and be good when he started mumbling and throwing very nasty looks. I asked what the issue was with me eating crispy bread , and he said, "If you don't know, dont ask. I was thinking he had a joke soon, so i asked him to explain as i don't think we are talking about the same thing. He then started mumbling again, and i said i really dont understand his attitude, and if i offended him with something, i apologize. At this point, i was still waiting for him to actually be joking, but he turned.. gave me the most terrifying look and slammed my coffee down and said if i don't get it, never to return there. At this stage, i was so taken aback that i got emotional, with the rest of my day in complete shock. It's a pity as i really enjoyed the coffee, and i hope that he doesn't treat his partner the same he treats his clients. Never again!

28/06/2025: This store will close down in a few months. Very poor service from the lads that work there we cam in at 11h55 told we only open in five minutes and was asked to leave… if the owners are serious about making money rather up your service

21/06/2025: The crushed ice here is SO GOOD. Great for summer when it's this warm. Lovely staff.

20/06/2025: The waffle seemed to be the only self made thing. Ontop you get whipped cream out of the can, store bought ice cream and sauce. At least its all obvious when you take a look inside. I must have been blind today...

31/05/2025: Fabulous brunch spot. Our server joked around with us and made us feel right at home. Delicious soup, toast, sandwiches, and coffee. Decoration is lovely and seating is comfortable.

25/05/2025: I'm not a huge fan of the taste of coffee, so their White Mocha hit just right. It's not bitter at all and tasted great both times I went (iced and hot). I went to other Starbucks in Dublin but this one has the best White Mochas for me!

01/06/2025: Their website says they close at 2am for collection on Fridays and Saturdays. I got there 1h15 and they were closed, why not say the correct time?

01/07/2025: Food was alright, barman was severely rude and clearly has no experience in customer service, never seen service so poor from an apparent "irish bar of the year"

14/06/2025: An absolute legendary pub. I been living in Rathfarnham over 30 years now and I look forward to coming here and chit chatting with Ivana the manager for all her help. The cajun chicken is to die for. I’d bring me family here everyday if I could.

14/02/2025: What a wonderful place to be in blackrock! The staff at insomnia were fantastic, increadibly kind and helpful after I accidentally spilt my coffee, they couldn’t have been nicer, and made me a fresh one! Great service and great coffee. Well done to the team!

12/04/2025: In the current circumstances, the owners here have done everything possible to make their premises safe, with clear signage and appropriate screening in place - the food is great too!

08/03/2025: most grim takeaway of my life, pizza so under cooked it stuck to the box, it was only held together by the inches of cheese on top, most appetising part of the meal was the pepperoni. we ordered onion rings and only 2 came in a portion, these were undercooked and had about 7 layers of onion, on the inside you can see there’s raw batter, also came drowned in grease. the chips were bendy and undercooked. overall a rank takeaway i would never eat her again please save yourself.

02/07/2025: Ordered over an hour ago and still haven’t received my food

01/07/2025: Terrible service! We waited 40 mins for our order, only 5 minutes around the corner from the restaurant when the app told us it had been delivered. We rang 11 times to ask where it was before they answered then they hung up on us when we finally got through to them. We rang another 4 times before they picked up and told us it'd be 5 to 10 minutes. Another 20 minutes and still nothing. We rang again another 4 times, they hung up again! 6 more rings and nothing. Finally after 1 hour and 15 minutes the pizza arrived cold. Absolutely disgraceful!!!

01/07/2025: most of the customers were over weight when i was there. they probably eat here regularly. asked for a few drops of ketchup on my chips. oh my god. i got a bottle of ketchup which turned my meal to mush. my burger was ok but the quality of the meat wasn't great. to be honest i won't be going back there.

25/05/2025: Best fish and chips and takeaway in Carrick in my opinion. Brilliant chips.

08/07/2025: The burgers are the best chipper burgers. The chicken is always cooked correctly. The batter is lovely. The chips are top class. I wont use any other chipper in this city.

25/06/2025: It's a shame cause I think their food is actually good but they are very cheap with their portions, I always order loads of food and don't even get a few chips thrown in, and that's not even the issue. My issue with them is that they often leave me with half my order missing, and when I contact them to let them know, they still don't give us what we ordered even when it's 2 orders later and I'm still reminding them. I'm done paying €30 and only receiving €15 worth, I'll be finding a new chipper to order from now since they don't want to resolve their issues of leaving me half a meal short most times or giving me somebody else's order. Disgraceful!

09/07/2025: Top class service,I ordered the two poached eggs,vine tomato's,two pieces of pigs back bacon,two pieces of toast and they made this handmade sweet kind of bitter I dont know how to explain it kind of chutney but I'm impressed with how the service is here the food is amazing,the atmosphere is on point and the tea and coffee is 🤌 ,I'll definitely be calling back in here.bye guys.
