The best restaurants in Dublin

24/06/2026: We just got married at no.25 Fitzwilliam Place on the 20th of June 2026 and are so very glad we did! From our very first interaction with Darragh we were met with so much warmth and care. Darragh was always available to answer are countless questions and endless emails. When it came to the wedding day itself the staff were absolutely phenomenal. Stephen and the rest of the staff went above and beyond for us to make sure our every need was met. They were so attentive, all of our guests were in awe (as were we). If you’re thinking about getting married at no.25 Fitzwilliam Place, absolutely do it, it’s 100% a decision you won’t regret. It was the best place for the best day of our lives!

23/06/2026: No 25 Fitzwilliam Place absolutely exceeded our expectations. Everything was absolutely perfect. Darragh was a fantastic coordinator. There was nothing too big or small and no job that was not possible. Darragh came up with ideas and suggestions and solutions to problems before we even anticipated them. Stephen, the House Manager, and his team are beyond unbelievable. I was escorted from the wedding card with so many umbrellas, there wasn’t a chance I was getting wet. Everything was organised and set out in exactly the way I had asked for and the timing ran perfectly to schedule. Our first look, our viewing of the dinner room, a little break away from our guests whilst the dinner bell was called, everything was absolutely perfect. The venue is absolutely stunning. We barely added any of our own decor other than flowers, because the house is just out of this world. The lounge is lovely and relaxing, many of our guests hung out there during the evening. The bar is gorgeous and we got many beautiful photos in the little snug seats. The food was fantastic. We made edits to the menu and nothing was too much trouble. People are still talking about the food weeks after the wedding. The dinner service was impeccable, with beautiful table settings. All dietary requirements were catered to, over and above what could be expected. Stephen took particular care of my bridesmaid who is a coeliac, making sure there was no cross contamination on the day and with all of the food. Everything was absolutely fantastic and we would highly recommend No 25 for your wedding.

21/07/2026: Bordering on inedible food. The menu reads well but does not deliver and service was slow. The waiter walked past our table that was covered with dirty dishes countless times without glancing over or removing them. I had the tomato tart and it was hideous. Soggy pastry and soggy tomato. The beef bourgeoisie was really bad. Chewy meat and just horrible to the point that I left most of it behind. Avoid, I cannot fathom how this place gets good reviews. Location is great but the book ends there.

20/07/2026: Chez Max is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a relaxed lunch in the heart of Dublin. We stopped in for lunch and came away impressed by both the quality of the food and the value, especially considering its central location. The sandwich special was outstanding. It was made with fresh, quality ingredients, generously filled and packed with flavour. It was the sort of simple dish that is elevated by good produce and careful preparation rather than unnecessary complexity. The portion size was generous and made for a thoroughly satisfying lunch. The restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere with the feel of a traditional French bistro. It’s comfortable and unpretentious, making it an easy place to settle in for a leisurely meal while taking a break from sightseeing around the city. Service was friendly, efficient and attentive throughout our visit. The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and ensured everything was delivered promptly without making us feel rushed. For anyone exploring central Dublin, Chez Max is well worth considering for lunch. Between the excellent sandwich special, quality ingredients, welcoming atmosphere and good value, it offers an enjoyable dining experience that exceeded our expectations. We’d happily return on a future visit and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others looking for a reliable, relaxed lunch in the city centre

26/07/2026: A true Irish pub with excellent traditional dishes (generous portions). Extremely professional and friendly staff, even the younger ones. Plus, in the evenings you can listen to live music, which adds to the warm and welcoming atmosphere.

24/07/2026: The nicest staff you could meet. We were there on All Ireland Hurling Final Sunday and we were so well treated. We didn't have food.

06/07/2026: The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and we really appreciated their service. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed that our hot food was served in plastic bowls. We simply cannot understand why a restaurant would serve hot meals in plastic containers. It negatively affected our dining experience, and we hope the restaurant will reconsider this practice in the future.

14/07/2026: Another great pub experience while we were in Dublin. The traditional Guinness beef stew is (sorry for the cliche) to-kill-for! Great locals’ pub with music 7/7.

14/07/2026: Loved the pub, good atmosphere. If its full, try the beer garden in the back of the pub - though you have to go order yourself.

09/07/2026: Long story short: staff were great. Don’t eat here if you’re vegan or plant-based. Very limited options. Giving 5 stars because the staff did an excellent job of not wasting my time (which I appreciate). I called over the phone to confirm they have vegan options, and the Google Reviews said there were good vegan options available. But when I arrived, I discovered this is not the case. “Vegan options” means plain avocado toast or a bowl of leafy greens. There are so many restaurants in Ireland (even way out in the countryside) who offer excellent vegan options. Support those establishments instead.

01/07/2026: Lovely atmosphere, food was awesome, and staff were warm & friendly. Thanks for the great experience - and for re-setting my expectations. What I mean is, so many people in the US told me I would not find too much "good food" in Ireland and warned me I would have to eat Indian food or kebab if I wanted flavorful meals. We had the mussels & chips (broth was a touch too salty but still great!) along with the pasta & prawns. Irish soda bread was great as well.

01/07/2026: We were lucky to get worked in by the staff at Hemmingways without a reservation. We got seated in this adorable little dining room. The food was filled with love and excellently cooked. We had a wonderful time.

28/07/2026: My husband and I and a friend had dinner at mamo, we were about 45 minutes to our our reservation; they were able to provide service although the kitchen was closed. We felt terrible for having been late and we did feel the staff did their best to accommodate us. The food (fish of the day and the lamb shoulders) met our expectations, the dessert (passionfruit) exceeded our expectations. I appreciated that i could taste the wine before committing and our hostess provided a great recommendation for me, a wine that is now part of my wine collection. Thank you all for the service provided and the tasty meals 😋.

28/07/2026: It's not a meal it's a food experience. Who knew cauliflower could taste so amazing.They only have a wine licence so in place of G&T we had white port and tonic, a revelation. Staff so friendly and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend

29/06/2026: Came for the Sunday roast as we're always excited to find a good one and had read great reviews. Unfortunately despite multiple nice touches and considerations like the gorgeous interior and the veggie roast coming with veg gravy for example, it was really disappointing. The roast potatoes were leathery, hard to cut and chew. The cauliflower cheese side was watery and not very well seasoned. The meat was soft and tasty but overall quite expensive for the portion size. Some of the digestifs also came as shots rather than in a glass with ice which I wasn't expecting. Wait staff are very friendly and attentive, but we did feel rushed. A heads up on pricing: a service charge is included in the bill, and for regular menus you have to order a certain amount per person, so it may not be suited to a group or special occasion as we'd hoped if everyone has to lock in and agree ahead of time.

22/07/2026: Top class! Love the chefs menu, you get to try a fantastic selection of dishes from the main menu. Wine list is quite enteric. Staff are amazing and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend. (Rib eye steak not pictured - is beautiful!)
