Octopussy's Seafood Tapas
Dublin
16/05/2026: I almost never give a one star, but we had an awful experience here today. I will add it was compounded by the fact that neither myself nor my wife had managed to grab breakfast this morning and this was the first thing we had gotten to eat all day.
We arrived at 13.50 and joined the queue across the road. It moved slowly and so we were there for 30min before we reached the top. Upon doing so, two groups behind us were seated first as they had groups of 4 (although one was still waiting for the others to show) and they could fill the tables outside and we were just two. But honestly we only had a couple more minutes to wait, so all good.
Seated inside, it was crowded, music was loud and you’ve got smell of the friers going. It took a while for our orders to be taken, but eventually we did by 14.45 (almost an hour after arriving… it was busy, I get it).
My glass of wine came down quickly, but a half hour passed and still no food. My wife was getting hangry at this point and notice that the new comers were getting their food before us. At 15.20 I asked if they had forgotten our order. I could see the server/ possibly manager could not find the docket, and asked the waitress that took the order about it. What annoyed me most was I could see her laugh in response and say she hadn’t rung it through, to which the manager returned to say the kitchen had lost the docket. She was very nice about it, and apologised, offered us another glass of wine. But at this stage we just want to eat and leave.
By 15.40 all the food finally arrived. We had two chowders, lots of seafood and fish. Not bad, but nothing special. The gambas were good quality, but ever so slightly over cooked. The fish of the fish and chips was excellent, but the chips themselves not so great. And the mussels came down cold. We left the restaurant at 4 o’clock, more than two hours after we joined the queue…Ultimately, this wasn’t worth the wait.
The server that took our order never even acknowledged she had messed up, the second server was apologetic about it all and didn’t charge for the wine and took 10% off the bill, bring the finally tally to €65. Thanks for the gesture, but we won’t be returning anytime soon.

17/05/2026: Excellent food. Very filling! Not many veggie or non crustaceans options. Warm, friendly service. We went on a Sunday night so it was quite quiet - not much they could do about the atmosphere! Recommended.

WAKI Noodle & Sushi Bar
Dublin
17/05/2026: Everyone should come here after a badminton tournament - easy to park, very tasty delicious dumplings & sushi and ramen.
Juicy home made dumplings pair very well with starter kimchi and seaweed, I’d try the fried noodles and other chef specials next time.
Definitely order the salmon sashimi caviar and fried tofu wrapped sushi, very umamious, a blend of flavour and texture pleasing the tastebuds a lot.
My friend had her ramen and it’s a feast!
16/05/2026: The food was amazing and the workers are super nice☺️ we’ll definetely be back again!

Chequer Lane by Jamie Oliver
Dublin
05/11/2025: I visited Chequer Lane by Jamie Oliver in Dublin for dinner, and the food was superb and amongst the best that I had during my time in the city.
While there wasn't a dedicated gluten-free menu provided, my server talked me through the options and all the staff members had great knowledge of what I could and couldn't eat, I opted for the steak, which was served with a fresh garlic butter, the steak was delicious, had so much flavour and was cooked perfectly, and didn't even need any extra sauce, the fries again were so good, they were fresh, tasty and all the flavours had delivered.
My only disappointment was in my cocktail - it was overloaded with ice and was almost like a slush.
The other members of my party were also pleased with their food.
The vibes inside the restaurant were really nice too - it felt premium yet with a modern twist so it didn't feel pretentious and you wouldn't feel out of place coming in after spending the day sightseeing around Dublin, it was that perfect combination.
I'd return to Dublin alone for that steak!
04/11/2025: Excellent dinner. Burger. Beef tortellini. Old fashioned. Delicious!

Herbert Park Hotel
Dublin
15/05/2026: Nice location adjacent to a large and peaceful park, walking distance to many restaurants, shops, and businesses.
In my stay for a week, it was mostly quiet except for a commotion involving hotel staff loudly conversing right outside my door one night.
The room was fine, until I happened to take a bath the last day of my stay. The bathwater was BROWN. Checking the sink, it was too. Not brown enough to notice in a glass, but my goodness, I'd been drinking that all week. Hotel staff that night said it just happens sometimes and is safe. Hotel staff the next morning said it was due to construction work, and the plumbers thought it might happen but didn't know where or when.
Breakfast was pretty good. Staff was also pretty good.
10/05/2026: Stayed here on 15–16 April 2026.

The Blind Pig
Dublin
14/05/2026: We visited The Blind Pig Speakeasy twice during our recent trip to Dublin. Andrew was able to find seats for us even when things were busy, which we really appreciated. He was a great host — friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely happy to explain the history behind the cocktails on the menu.
We also requested a Vieux Carré, and he did an excellent job with it. The atmosphere, service, and attention to detail made this one of our favorite cocktail spots in Dublin. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a true speakeasy experience!
14/05/2026: Not sure how I knew about this fun place, but it was on our list to “to do” in Dublin. Omg! It was fantastic ! My friend and I shared the little pork sandwiches—don’t know the Italian name off the top of my head, but they were fantastic! Great great atomosphere! I would definitely go back and highly recommend it! Also probably get a reservation just to be safe. There is another speakeasy near it called the Little Pig that the waiter in the Blind Pig recommended which was also neat and fun!

Vice Coffee Inc
Dublin
05/12/2025: A well-balanced cafe that manages to stay comfortable even during busy hours. The layout allows people to sit without feeling cramped, and the overall pace never feels rushed. It’s a good spot for slowing down, having longer conversations, or simply taking time out while staying close to the city’s energy.
02/12/2025: Modern, upbeat cafe with staff who clearly enjoy their work. The atmosphere is lively but never overwhelming, making it suitable for casual meetings or solo visits. Coffee quality is high, and the space has a natural flow that keeps visitors comfortable for longer periods.

Fayrouz Restaurant
Dublin
24/05/2026: An absolute delight!!! I adore Lebanese food and this place was up there with the best of them. Every dish, from the bread to the dips to the dessert, was handmade with love. Some of the crispiest and most tender shawarma and sumac chicken that I have had. We ordered probably 5 dishes in total, both cold and hot, and were pleased with every one of them. Special shout out to the waitress Nomin for recommending the hummus and the flavorful stuffed eggplant. Everything she told us to get was indeed delicious! 🤤
18/05/2026: Except for the food taking 45 mins to arrive, everything else was quite amazing

The Grange
Dublin
14/04/2026: We went in for a lunch. Brilliant carvery here. Really good food, great choice & very reasonably priced. Highly recommended. Staff are lovely & really helpful & friendly. I'd highly recommend it.
26/03/2026: Was there on a Sunday for carvery, food was diabolical for the price,my partner got the beef and portion was okay not great, then myself and my sons came along and we were disgusted for what we paid, child's portion handed to us,we had to ask for stuffing and gravy, and when asked the chef, the attitude on him as if it was nuisance for him.
Will never be back.
