The Portobello Bar

19/11/2024: Magnificent Bar. We came twice for a drink and a meal during our stay. The welcome and the service were perfect, and what can we say about the cuisine, divine.
11/11/2024: Stopped in here for cocktails. I only live a few minutes walk from the bar but never ventured inside. I was very impressed with the decor and atmosphere. The cocktails were delicious and at €13 each definitely good value.

21/05/2024: What a great experience! Food is top star, you just want to try everything that is on the menu and the service was unreal. The “Arroz Negro” which has squid and octopus was my favorite, I eat a lot of seafood and so far this was one of my favorite things ever!

12/11/2024: Eve’s cakes are perfection! I asked if she could create a custom cake for my daughter’s first birthday and she did not disappoint as the cake looked and tasted just amazing! It’s clear a lot of skill and care went into making this cake. In absolute awe of her talent. Would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone. Thanks again!

26/05/2024: This was our first stop on our trip to Dublin, a city known for its friendliness and we weren't disappointed! Shane, the owner, was friendly, funny, helpful and knowledgable.
He gave us loads of tips for our trip and is very knowledgable on everything from whisky to travelling across Ireland.
The other thing to mention is we had literally the best pizzas ever. Who knew pistachio on pizza works!
25/05/2024: Great place for a pint. Decent pint of Guinness but Shane is the star of the show made my visit amazing.

27/10/2024: Not a touristy location - it was full of friendly locals watching the football who gave it a great atmosphere.
The Irish beers on tap were delightful.
The bar staff were attentive and friendly.
Brilliant bar overall.
I highly recommend the minty shot in my photo.

02/11/2024: The food was really tasty and crusty with an authentic taste! The place is quiet and the music is nice! The staff was absolutely amazing! Especially their waitress Mariana, who was very sweet and generous! Thank you! I would definitely recommend!

30/10/2024: Having heard of the "toasties", we felt it our duty to find out for ourselves! My husband had the fish 'n chips and I had the toastie and they both were fabulous!!! Crispy, tasty, TOASTY, and the Guinness was poured to perfection! The atmosphere is cozy and the people warm and inviting. On to of all, I left a favorite scarf and the owner very kindly returned it to me! Go there, thank Gar for me!!

03/03/2024: We were in Dublin for a work trip and decided to go here because we were staying in the hotel around the corner.
Couldn't have been happier. The food was amazing and is a fantastic Pizza by all rights!
Great atmosphere and Sasha was an absolute legend who looked after us. They also have a coffee kiosk open in the morning providing class coffee!
Will definitely return next time in the area!

17/11/2024: Food is terrible, i was catching up with a pal & decided for here. Carvery was on, it didn't look great so we decided for soup & then a wrap. Soup first was cold so I brought it back to be heated, then I tasted it & it was awful, I actually gave it back to the manager. I asked her if she tasted it, she said I did & I told the chef to rectify the soup & she said obviously he didn't. She offered tea & coffee on the house, we said no thanks, she then dropped back the price of the soup. The wrap, was toasted but the ingredients inside were still cold. Raging we went here, we should have gone to Avoca. We won't be back
