The best restaurants in Dublin

13/01/2026: Had two hours to kill before catching a train....the bar at heuston is fine but I felt like taking a look for something different. Very glad I did....lovely bar, nice atmosphere and what a pint of Guinness...I'm a 45 year old Irish guy and have drank my fair share but the Guinness here is as good as Ive had anywhere!!

18/01/2026: Liath Restaurant has quietly become my family’s go-to spot in Dublin. Not because it’s flashy, but because it’s consistent, thoughtful, and genuinely comfortable to be in. They remember you. Not in a performative way, but in a calm, reassuring one, they remember what you like, what you don’t, and they don’t make a big deal out of it. The service is solid and confident without hovering, and the space itself feels calm and unforced, which is rare in fine dining. The food is where the care really shows. Almost everything is made from scratch, yes, even the salt, and you can taste the difference. Nothing feels rushed or lazy. Every dish feels considered, not precious, just done properly. You’re aware that someone paid attention here. It’s fine dining without the stiffness. No theatrics, no ego, just a place that takes its work seriously and lets the food do the talking.

17/01/2026: Fantastic dining experience. We had the lunch menu and non alcoholic drinks pairing. It was two vegetarian, two fish, one meat, dessert and petit fours. Everything was presented beautiful and tasted delicious. It's our first time going for a non alcoholic drink pairing and it did not disappoint, so much effort was put into each drink, they were complex and they all paired well with the food.The dining room is very small, there is only 5 tables and the kitchen is open and at the end of the room, you wouldn't even know the chefs were there, they worked quietly and meticulously. Damien Grey was friendly and interacted with all diners, bringing food to the tables as did the other chefs for the last course. With regards atmosphere,there is no music playing but its not needed and while the space is small there is enough room between the tables. The whole experience from start to finish was wholesome and relaxed. The lunch was great value for money.

10/01/2026: The staff are pleasant. Great coffee and buns. There is a second floor with Wi-Fi. The place has a great atmosphere: there is an old sewing machine in the window display, and barrels of coffee nearby.

19/11/2025: I had a great experience at Jay Kays Café. The food was excellent—everything I tried was delicious, from the French toast and avocado toast to the eggs Benedict with pulled beef sandwich. The hot chocolate was also wonderful and comforting. The only thing that didn’t quite suit my taste was the Irish coffee, which was a bit too strong for me, but that comes down to personal preference more than anything else. The café has a lovely ambience as well, making it a pleasant spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit and would happily return to try more from their menu.

13/01/2026: Delicious Irish breakfast at great value. You have three options (small, medium or large) with slight additions depending which size you get. I got the medium and it was plentiful. It’s a little hole in the wall with not really any atmosphere, but I liked the quaintness of it.

03/12/2025: Food came late and cold, I asked about the student deal before ordering and was told it was available, then when the bill came I was told it's only available till 5pm. The person who brought us the bill stood over me while I was checking and was very impatient. Please go to Bunsen burger next door instead as they offer a much better experience and value for money.

12/12/2025: I had a very nice experience here. The pizza prices are beyond reasonable, cheaper than any other good wood fired pizza place in the city. The pizza I had was delicious, lovely pizza base and good quality toppings. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere and decor were comfortable and relaxing. Reasonable selection of very fairly priced alcohol as well. I can see this become a regular place I will be visiting.

09/12/2025: It's easily the best cafe in Dublin. The cakes and coffee are exception, and the staff have so much character much like the venue itself.
