16/08/2026: The place is really cozy and has a lovely atmosphere. However, the flat white I ordered was more like a cappuccino, which was a bit disappointing. It’s also a shame that you have to pay extra for plant-based milk.

06/09/2026: Wouldn’t be one to leave reviews but The Halfway House has some of the nicest staff I’ve ever came across. Brilliant service, lovely food and drink and a top atmosphere to go with it. Always sure to have the sport you crave on the TV and the best tunes to match. Couldn’t recommend more. Well done, lads 🙌

30/07/2026: We were two couples and one 18 year old celebrating his birthday the other night Sat, 25/07. We all visit the restaurant occasionally so know to expect good quality food and service. This was no different, good food and service as always. What really stood out was the waiter upstairs (where we were seated) I really should have asked his name but never got around to it. His sense of humour and attention to us were brilliant. He made just enough fuss over the birthday boy and even brought a complimentary chocolate brownie with a candle in it over to him after the meal. We really enjoyed our evening there.

20/09/2026: Great food, great atmosphere. Staff was delightful. I had the chicken and waffles with was a great blend of savory and sweet with just a little kick of spice to it.

17/09/2026: I’m absolutely appalled by what happened outside this restaurant. We were simply walking past when my dog stopped for a sniff and was about to mark his territory. As I was already moving him along, the man working at the entrance/seating area actually tried to kick my dog. If I hadn’t moved my dog, he would have kicked him. If there is an issue with an animal, there are plenty of ways to handle it without resorting to kicking or attempting to kick them. There is no excuse for trying to kick a dog.

14/09/2026: The best bolognese en Dublin. Mateo was so attentive and suggested the best wine pairing. Nice and chill ambiance, delicious food and excellent service.

01/09/2026: Went here with a group of 4 and got a place right outside. Very cute little atmosphere and fresh affordable food. Staff is very friendly and let us sit there for a while waiting for our 4th person.

27/09/2026: I heard that there are two well known New York style pizzerias in Dublin. Now, as a New Yorker I don't usually go out of my way to eat New York food in other cities, but the other place looked and smelled so New Yorkish that I was genuinely curious to try it. So I decided to get two slices from there and two from here. I was expecting to like the other place more because of the authentic vibe of it. The artisenal ingredients and style of Bambino match the more recent generations of NYC pizzerias popping up in downtown Manhattan (looking at you, Ceres). It was fun to recreate the old vs new pizza battle that's been consuming NY right here in Dublin. I ordered the Vito and the sausage and peppers. On the way back, i picked up two slices at the other place. To my surprise, despite expecting the other place to win, Bambino wasn't just better, it was way better. I would go as far as to say its the best NYC style pizza I've had outside of NYC. One bit of warning - a lot or NYC ex-pats who haven't been back in a while don't know about the recent evolution in pizza styles in NYC, so they might not see this place as being sufficiently "new york" enough if their frame of comparison is from 1999. But this pizza definitely represents a more than passable take on the more recent places popping up all over the city. I was impressed and my expectations were exceeded. It was actually my favorite thing to eat in my weekend in Dublin. And it was also the cheapest.

03/08/2026: Oh my goodness, this place is a total hidden gem! I love the atmosphere here—it’s great for catching up with friends and family, but also perfect for getting work done. The decor is super cozy and comfortable. I ordered the matcha latte, and it was delicious! The staff are all so friendly. Definitely a place worth coming back to!
