14/04/2025: Recently I fell in love with this place! It’s become my little daily ritual before class. The vibes are always cozy and the coffee is perfect. I think the staff probably all recognize me by now haha☺️ Especially Solongo—she’s the sweetest waitress, always so friendly and kind. Makes my mornings better every time! Thanks all of you🥳 I'm gonna be your favorite customer until I go back 😉

08/03/2025: If the field was set in Inchicore it would be easy to imagine the bull macabe marching into this pub, telling everyone that no yank would buy his field and then buying everyone a drink. Now imagine he also buys everyone food. Not bad food, not brilliant food, just food. Unfortunately the bull went to far and his own honour drove him to madness. The great man that he was, none of that carry on will be tolerated in the black lion.

07/01/2025: I don’t care much for coffee taste- it’s either burnt or drinkable. But this one was different. And it wasn’t by accident. The guy made it with an unprecedented amount of care and delivered it to me with care as well. And when I took a sip I had that moment the food critic has at the end of ratatouille. 5 stars!
08/10/2024: One of the best tasting coffees and the owner is really friendly and seems to remember how his regular customers like their coffee and knows what to do as soon as he sees you.

18/03/2025: It's not good for what I paid. Simple side bit of garnish on a plate. What you would expect in a canteen. no veg. Chips on side . chicken nice but only thing on plate with garnish. No love went into the presentation. Won't be rushing back.

19/02/2025: I've been using the Avoca deli for 2 years and I have purchased sandwiches on a regular basis. However, I can't remember getting a sandwich with fresh bread. Each time I go back expecting a change, the bread is still stale. There are some good food options, lovely shop and supermarket but stay away from the deli counter.

30/03/2025: I’ve been to this cinema several times as a member, and I find it difficult to understand why a film institute cinema would allow the staff to turn on the light about 3 minutes before the film actually ends. While I understand that many cinemas choose to turn on the lights when the end credits begin, turning them on while the final scenes are still playing is inappropriate and disrespectful, as it disrupts the viewing experience and affects the audience’s ability to fully engage with the visuals on screen. I’ve encountered this issue three times at Cinema 1 this year. As a film institute, I believe that respecting the integrity of the cinematic experience should be a fundamental standard.

17/03/2025: Cat ate my food and i didn’t get another meal. What do they expect me to do? Eat food that a stray cat ate out of? €6.50 GONE. My friend then gave me some of her food. We are both students that get allowance, WE couldn’t afford to get another meal just because something happened that wasn’t our fault. Work on basic hygiene
01/03/2025: Really nice place for you to go grab a coffee and have a little time with friends or love ones. The caramel latte was really good. The will give you a card for them to stamp each time you buy something and once you get 9 coffees you will get a free one 😏
