The Fumbally

Dublin
16/07/2025: Really cute place. Food was filling and didn't make me feel crummy. Posting to say I had to eat my words, "they have a brownie that looks dry as dirt, if I'm being honest..." NOPE. It was delicious. Everything we had was great, especially the soup.
13/07/2025: Stayed at aloft and came here each morning for breakfast. Super fresh bread, tomatoes, eggs. Very friendly service. Got a sourdough cinnamon roll for the flight home, and it was phenomenal. Skip the hotel breakfast and come here! They also have outdoor seating, which was nice.

Mister S

Dublin
17/07/2025: Mister S. Having received mentions in both The Sunday Times 100 best Irish Restaurants, and the Michelin Guide 2024 (to name but two), Mister S on Dublin’s Camden St Lower has acquired a reputation for creating simple yet stunning plates by cooking great Irish produce over fire. Mister S’s mantra is to use “better meat, sustainable fish stocks, and to support local ethical farming”, and the restaurant is passionate about the wonderful flavours created by live fire cooking. We called in early on a Tuesday evening. The restaurant was buzzing, and the amazing aromas of charcoal, wood and smoke were already emanating from the open kitchen. Our server, Rebecca, was a delight. Efficient, informative, and exuding fun and friendliness. We enjoyed a terrific bottle of Portuguese Adega de Penalva, while we decided on our food order. Eventually, we plumped for the refreshing Sliced Tuna, with Watermelon in a piquant Aguachile, with crispy Tostada, and a dish of Charred Leeks on Romesco, with creamy Mozzarella. To follow, the Halibut fillet was smoky and delicious, with Mussels in a rich Bisque Sauce, and the Cauliflower had been treated with the same care and attention as its meaty alternatives -perfectly charred, tender, and full of flavour, served with Chermoula and Pomegranate. And the Triple Cooked Fried Potatoes with Onion Salt were golden, crunchy treats-especially dipped in the garlicky Aioli. Dessert was also fantastic; a wobbly, yet perfectly firm in texture Orange and Vanilla Panna Cotta in a gorgeous Saffron Syrup. All in all, Mister S delivers wonderfully smoky, delicious dishes in an informal setting, with excellent service. We’ll definitely be returning. Those grilled prawns at the next table looked too good to miss! Next time! #misters #TheSundayTimes #MichelinGuide #dublin
16/07/2025: We snagged a reservation to celebrate our anniversary. We are so thrilled we did. The service is so warm and kind. The food is beautiful and delicious! They even took a Polaroid, of us, to mark the occasion. If you’ll be in Dublin, definitely make a reservation here! You will be so happy you did! It’s an easy walk from The Shelbourne and St Stephen’s Green.

Dublin Salsa Academy - Beginner's 202, Jan 8th, 9th & 10th. Cuban Salsa, L.A Salsa and Bachata classes.

Dublin
25/06/2025: Tl;Dr dance classes are good. Administration is lacking. Location changes to outdoors sometimes because the school fails to book a location I attended the beginners classes for multiple dance styles in the school. First of all, I think the classes are quite good. The teachers are attentive and there's always a chance to record the routines/movements taught at the end of the class. Huge help when practising. So 5/5 there However, the administration is severely lacking. The first week I signed up the class on my chosen day was cancelled. I only discovered this when I arrived at the venue and was informed by staff of the harbourmaster that it wasn't on. I did ultimately receive a refund for the missing week, but be careful when signing up on the day because you might find the class is cancelled on that day. The dance school won't mention this on their website or any public facing pages that I'm aware of In addition to this, sometimes the dance school will fail to book a venue. In this case either the class is cancelled for that day or they move it outdoors to Grand Canal Square. If it rains that day? Cancelled. If you maybe don't want to dance so publicly? Come a different day, if there's one available. If a class is cancelled there's no attempt to make up that class, and the possible change of venue isn't mentioned on the website or when signing up for the class. I attended for 8 weeks and the day I found most convenient to go had classes cancelled or moved 3 out of those 8 weeks. Maybe I picked a particularly turbulent time, but I'm very surprised this isn't mentioned in any other reviews. If you're flexible on days or don't mind having an dancing outside then this is unlikely to be much of a problem for you. If, like me, you'd prefer an indoor venue or don't always have that flexibility then this is pretty important information to know
06/05/2025: Very fun classes and great teachers!

Mespil Hotel

Dublin
21/07/2025: Far enough from the centre to give us the peaceful surroundings but close enough to walk into town
20/07/2025: One of the best hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying at - gorgeous common spaces and rooms. The staff is wonderful and the location quiet yet still in the heart of everything. My only wish is that I spent more time here.

The Bank on College Green

Dublin
04/07/2025: Was just at this place. As I was there before. The person on the door have one look to my family of 4 and 3 kids and said had no capacity until 8PM and only taking booking. The person was rude and treated us like leopards. The person should have been working back of house washing dishes. They were not Irish and not sure where they got their manners. Would deff not recommend this place. The manager really needs to look at their staff. Zero star for me. Would never recommend to a friend. All of my family are going to make the same review to ensure good people are hard to find when it comes to dealing with people. Came to Dakota and the person brought out colours for kids. Great place.

12/07/2025: I’ve been going to little lane for a while now and always have a great experience! Staff are lovely and everything I’ve tried is delicious 😊
01/07/2025: I had a ginger lemon tea and a scone. The tea was great and beautifully served, but the scone was disappointing; easily the worst I’ve had.

National Museum Cafe

Dublin
10/07/2025: Great place to stop if you’re a history lover. It’s free (with an optional donation, which I think they definitely deserve), and I’d especially recommend one of their regular guided tours of the museum, also free, as they give a good overview of many of the artifacts from some of the oldest periods of Irish history.
09/07/2025: A great free museum. The bog men were interesting.
