19/03/2026: Just a great little find. One flight of stairs up and you’re in for a treat. The staff is warm and friendly. Our server picked out the roti as a starter for us and it was amazing. The decor is simple and elegant with beautiful paintings on the walls reflecting the heritage of their dishes. They close at 9pm so don’t leave it too late. 3 people, 2 drinks, 1 starter and 3 entrees added up to €65. Great value for great food. Right in the heart of downtown Galway.

14/02/2026: What a gem. This is some of the best food we experienced in Ireland. It is a small, intimate restaurant with a small and uncomplicated menu. The quality and flavor of the food is exceptional. The staff were so friendly and helpfull. Coming from Cape Town, we have fairly high expectations when it comes to flavor and quality, and Ard Bia definitely did not disappoint. If you find yourself in Galway, do yourself a favor and dine at this intimate and unassuming little restaurant.

12/02/2026: This is an amazing find just by Spanish Arch. There is a lovely welcome and the atmosphere is calm and cosy. The staff are a attentive but not overly. The menu was interesting and whet the appetite, but the food, unfortunately, wasn't as great as one hoped - a little disappointing in fact. I will go back though

18/02/2026: We had been there a few months ago but I still remember how we enjoyed. We booked for a special occasion so we ordered a good wine (we asked for recommendation and they offer us some options to pair with our food) that was lovely, one home made pasta Amatriciana with guanciale each and a Nduja pizza to share, anyway we kept room for dessert that was a nice Tiramisu. I highly recommend the pasta, they don't put much effort into decoration but they focus on the taste. I'm looking forward to come back. Thank you.

10/12/2025: I loved it. Absolutely beautiful and the Christmas decorations were fantastic. I've heard that Ed Sheeran filmed the music video for "Galway Girl" here. I don't know for sure, but I've heard it's a popular meeting place for artists. Whether that's true or not, I really enjoyed it and I recommend it.

06/03/2026: EXCEPTIONAL! 5 stars all around. All the staff were extremely attentive, well informed and went above and beyond. Then the coffee came out and blew us away. Such a cool design but also so tasty. We love speciality coffee and this didnt disappoint, then to find out the owners roast their own coffee! So cool. But the final star was the food. EXCEPTIONALLY fresh using only the best ingredients. Highly recommend. ❤️

10/03/2026: Honestly this review goes out to this establishments most entertaining character Fionn. Hilarious individual, made us feel welcomed and recommended some spots around to get a decent meal, following his recommendation my girlfriend and I had a lovely night. Gave us his honest opinions on all the different flavours, let us try whatever we wanted, and had a wonderful chat with him at the same time. Came for the ice cream, stayed for Fionn. Shoutout to that fella.

08/02/2026: Charming as it is moldy ;) Very nice choice of pints! Good value. Nice live music. The small fireplace makes the place feel like home.

04/02/2026: Liam, Paul, and Laura were so welcoming, which is great when you are a solo traveler. They make you feel so welcome! This is a fantastic spot to stop into after a day of touring the town. The atmosphere was fantastic!

30/12/2025: A very, very nice place. Great food. Great atmosphere with fairy lights and plants. The service was very friendly despite the large number of guests. It was really great. I think it would be better to have one more staff member during peak hours or when the city is busier.

03/03/2026: We celebrated my birthday at this restaurant at the second of March 2026. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the service. All the dishes we ordered were very delicious. I was also pleased with the ice cream with the inscription "Happy birthday" in chocolate. I would like to thank Matthew, who served us. He is a professional in his field and just a very pleasant person.

01/03/2026: We received a very warm welcome from the staff before opening time, given the very poor weather conditions outside. Valerio took our order and was very friendly; he speaks English, French, and Italian. I highly recommend him. The meal was hearty and delicious.
