The best restaurants in Galway

15/05/2026: A very warm and attentive welcome. It was very pleasant. The elevator is a nice touch, as is the parking for guests (limited spaces). There's a restaurant within the hotel for breakfast and other meals, with the option of takeout or room service. The bedding is comfortable, the room is quite spacious, and the bathroom is a good size. It's perfect, 20 minutes from Galway. I would just mention the lack of natural light in the room (small and off-center window).

14/05/2026: Close to the bus stop for Galway, quiet, clean, excellent breakfast. Everything was perfect.

28/08/2026: Lovely little café, food was delicious and reasonably priced. Good coffee

20/07/2026: Stopped for lunch , nice to see some interesting alternatives to the usual food. Food all good , good service and reasonable prices. Would give 4.5* if I could

08/03/2026: Completely changed from a couple yrs ago!! Serious food, lovely staff, fresh food in good time, no complaints except we are absolutely stuffed. Well worth every penny, the fish and chips is beautiful and im from the south coast of England, best ive had in Ireland in 20 years!! Highly recommend!!!!

11/09/2026: The food was very good, the pizza a bit unusual but not bad. The staff was very nice and friendly. The food is quite reasonably priced.

05/08/2026: Very disappointed with the portion of meat. The bowl was mostly noodles and vegetables, with only a few tiny pieces of meat. For the price, I expected a much more balanced meal. The broth was decent, but the amount of meat was ridiculously small and made the dish feel poor value for money. I wouldn't order this again unless they improve the portion sizes.

27/07/2026: Stumbled upon this place when visiting Oranmore and the food is fantastic. We got the green curry and Singapore Noddle and both were great. Massive portions and really friendly staff. We ended up sitting and eating there.

27/08/2026: Most of the tables and all the booths had reserved signs on them but we managed to find a table Ate off the breakfast menu, 3 adults had the poached eggs. The bread from one of the dishes was very dry, even after removing all the toppings and spreading a generous amount of butter on it. All 3 servings had eggs that were hard poached, unsure if that was intentional by the cook, we were not asked how we would like the eggs poached and assumed soft poached is the norm, so perhaps our advice for others is to specifically ask for soft poached eggs. The kids enjoyed their waffles. The staff were under pressure and many tables had finished plates on them Returned later and had some hot chips, which were nice

14/08/2026: Today we visited and had an amazing time. My experience here today was phenomenal and i’m excited to return. We had an especially wonderful time on our Zip n Trek adventure.

31/05/2026: Lovely food. Lots of space. Wheelchair accessible and lift from street level. Child highchairs. Lemon sorbet was superb!!

18/08/2026: Ara grub was grand, pity chicken wasnt cooked in my spice bag wouldve been nice if it was. Place in general is terrible. Tables were sticky and seats were like sitting on a barbed wire. Went back few weeks later and got bag of chips, still not sure wether the chips were spuds or turnip👍.

19/11/2025: Poppyseed is a wonderful place to spend an hour beside the river with an outdoor seated area overlooking the river and bay. The food is freshly cooked to order with plenty of variety. Coffee is the best I’ve had in any location worldwide!! Seriously, the coffee is a lovely blend. It is the heartbeat of Clarinbridge village. It has a beautiful garden centre practically linked to its back entrance. The staff are just lovely, well trained and very friendly. Go and enjoy. Pat Surlis

18/09/2026: Asked for a platter of mostly crab/imitation crab and some salmon, got home was a whole platter of salmon. I went into the store specifically to ask for crab/imitation crab I even said I’d pay more, and I was told no problem and then when I get home it’s not what I asked for at all, what’s the point. Absolute waste of €25 won’t be going back.

22/08/2026: Stumbled upon Tony's just by luck. Got parked outside the door after a stroll around Bridget's Gardens. I will make the trip in from Galway city just to eat there again. I had the open chicken sandwich and it was absolutely gorgeous, so fresh and very filling. Also at the table we had ham and cheese toastie which was exactly as was wanted, looked very tasty. The cup of coffee was substantial and good too. Friendly locals to chat to and very nice staff. Delighted to have found Tony's and will return for the full Irish very soon.
