19/11/2025: Poppyseed is a wonderful place to spend an hour beside the river with an outdoor seated area overlooking the river and bay. The food is freshly cooked to order with plenty of variety. Coffee is the best I’ve had in any location worldwide!! Seriously, the coffee is a lovely blend. It is the heartbeat of Clarinbridge village. It has a beautiful garden centre practically linked to its back entrance. The staff are just lovely, well trained and very friendly. Go and enjoy. Pat Surlis

08/03/2026: Completely changed from a couple yrs ago!! Serious food, lovely staff, fresh food in good time, no complaints except we are absolutely stuffed. Well worth every penny, the fish and chips is beautiful and im from the south coast of England, best ive had in Ireland in 20 years!! Highly recommend!!!!

01/02/2026: We got a takeaway from martinos last night. He had "fresh cod" and chips , only whatever the fish was it wasn't cod. He couldn't eat it so gave it to the cat, it wouldn't even eat it. I had a philby steak sub, was OK but not great. We both had chips, which although you get loads were repeats and not nice. Waste of €25

15/11/2025: Got a takeaway, best I have ever had. Sweet and sour chicken balls and fried rice.....absolutely amazing

15/10/2025: Had meal there recently, myself, partner and two others. Menu was very limited asked for Thai satay chicken as main course, came out on skewers with sauce only was very disappointing. Complained and said they would get me veg but for me meal was destroyed at that stage.

09/06/2026: Hotel is an older hotel. Food is okay, breakfast can be better. No cheese and baked beans,no were there any cold cuts. Matrass in twin room (single bed )had seen better days, you could feel the springs.

08/06/2026: I had occasion to eat there twice while in County Galway. The meals were very good snd served quickly. The waitstaff was attentive and very friendly. They do a very good business so go early. Next time I'm in that area I will be eating there

23/03/2026: Danagher’s in Cong is a lovely little place. Very nice rooms, very clean, very friendly staff. The bar downstairs seemed to be a local haunt. Very cozy and a great Irish coffee. It is right across the street from Pat Cohan’s and the cross for any Quiet Man fans.

10/11/2025: Love this place , lovely atmosphere, Thomas the Barman is a real gem he will always greet the customers with a big smile or his cheeky wink if his hands are full , he alone makes the place welcoming and Ann a bar lady here also you couldn’t hope for a nicer greeting from either one , NO COMPLAINTS , and the people of Cong and Mayo in general are DECENT welcoming people , so definitely give Danaghers a visit , my feeling is you shouldn’t regret it Clint and Anna

04/04/2026: We stayed at the hotel and were pleasantly surprised by the restaurants. The food quality was higher than expected, and the prices felt very reasonable for what was offered.

06/02/2026: Pizza barely had a sauce was over cooked and the dough was chewy! I’m so disappointed. The jalapeno poppers weren’t fully cooked either, tired to put them in air fryer to make them more crispy didn’t work, no golden colour. And the wedges were inedible. I will never again order from here!!

30/12/2025: Horrible, disgusting, bad!!! Ordered takeaway for the whole fanily to save time and get a chillout evening free of cooking. the delivery took forever!! had to ring to see what was happening. got a dry "your food is on the way"... anothe 40 minuts later it arrived... ah well, we are busy... BUSY??? how's that my problem?? hire more staff, give a warning that you gonna be over an hour (!!!) food arrived only to go into the bin!!! after paying nearly 50 euro, binned the whole lot!!! the food was disgusting!! cold, greasy, tasted unfresh, awful looking and and even worse tasting. chips soggy, greasy, half of them burnt. kebabs soggy, veg looked unfresh, frozen in parts, bread soggy. looked like leftovers were thrown back together. garlic bread (how can you mess up garlic bread?? apparently, you can if you are Apache Pizza Gort!) wasn't soft, greasy and cold. after leaving a review, got a general copy-paste response from main branch asking to contact actual local branch (Gort) to see what was the problem and why food was so bad and delivery was so long... so like, after, i wasted time, money, had bad experience they want me to go back and see what is their problem that they cant provide a decent service?? seriously?.. never again!! horrible experience!

20/05/2026: This is my 3rd visit to this restaurant and I have not been disappointed, the food was excellent, 3 of us dined there tonight we all tried different things and we were very impressed with taste of every dish

13/05/2026: The foods are superb specially the ramen perfect for Irish weather( always cold even Summer time😬).Their foods have a large portion, good for sharing.Staffs are so friendly and the place ambiance is a plus also giving you a Japanese vibes and it feels relaxing.

26/11/2025: Gala is the best Chinese I've ever been to. It's our go to takeaway and is always fresh and great portions. Service is always 10/10. Couldn't recommend a Chinese highly enough!

21/11/2025: My Just Eat delivery arrived early without notification - doorbell woke up rest of the house. My sweet and sour chicken smell from overburned oil and tasted bitter. Meal binned.
