18/12/2025: Fabulous hotel, great staff, pet friendly, the food was amazing!

25/11/2025: Ill start with the positives, the food was amazing. I must say props to the chef. I had a fabulous and generously portioned meal for 9 the star is for the food as everything else went terribly. Following my graduation my family of 9 persons went to this hotel to enjoy a family meal. The first issue is in regards to building maintence. The dad cut through his trousers and his leg on a sharp protruding piece of metal acting as a box cover. You can see from the images attached that the cover is missing 2 rivents and is only secured in the middle. My dad brought this to the managers attention who came over to our table halfway through our meal dispiting it with him. He did offer to reduce the price of the meal by 15% however the suit was bought only that morning and that wouldnt cover the cost of a replacement pair of trousers. My dad explained that he didnt want ot have the argiment at the table while trying to enjoy the meal but the manager continued then offering 50€ off (which was less then 15% of our bill...) He said the general manager will be in touch and took our details so we are awaiting a call. We were initally sat at a high stoll table, we asked to swap to a lower table which was done for us no problem as my grandmother was unable to sit at the higher stool due to them not having back rests. We asked a girl who explained it was her fist day if we could mood and she went to ask another person. After about 5 minutes of talking and looking at us another memeber of the wait staff came over and said we could move. There was a bit of a wait for the starters and mains but nothing too extreme we were happy enough to wait. The same lady who moved us was quite rude when we were enquiring about the startes. The menu here has a "Lighter Dishes" section, we asked if that was there starter section and she clarified this to us in a way as if to say we were stupid. "Yeah... thats the starters, is there another quesiotn?". Desserts took quite some time to be brought our. We ordered 3 desserts as the generous portion sizes had us full up. They took 35 minutes to be brought out. I wonder if they were milking the cows in the back to make the cream. At the end of the meal the bill came out and didnt match the prices on the menu at all. Ive attached images of both their menu and the prices on our bill. We were too tired and warm at this point to bother arguing as the lady taking our bill was the same lady who had been rude earlier. The final kick in the teath was the phrasing of their tips. Menu states groups over 8 have gratuity of 10% included however on the bill it is down as suggested even though it is mandatory. Its only a small thing but it added insult to ingury. Previous vists to this place have been nice. Once i was sushed while entering their upstiars returaunt however I was apologised too after bringing it the the managers attention. I love the locaiton and food here but it has really given me a bad tatse now. I dont think me or my family will return which is a shame because we love their pizzas and come rather often. UPDATE No contact from a manager as promised. Cowboy Buisness people operating in Barna. Anyone looking for a place to stay or eat - do not. Plenty of better options in Galway. Avoid this dump like the plague Update again No hope in getting any help. Management have not contacted and when calling say they have no idea what I’m on about. Avoid at all costs. Update again, years later: I still email from time to time and yet no one there cares. I have not been back since (despite being a regular before) and always suggest for people to avoid it like the plague.

28/07/2026: Most delicious pizza. The deluxe is truly a deluxe. Only downside is that it is too delicious and we have doubled in size and weight but it’s well worth it

27/04/2026: Ignorant, rude scammers. Tried to scam a relative of mine out of food this evening saying an order that was paid for through their online system “hadn’t come in”. He had to argue for over an hour when they miraculously found the order. Absolutely awful people. Avoid.

16/10/2025: It might have been the time of day but I am 53 and I felt like the youngest person there by far. It is a nice pub and I will return. The Guinness was good and the food was good. A worthwhile stop. The bartender and the chef were very friendly and welcoming.

27/07/2026: I have to give this 5 stars. Great atmosphere on Sunday night, we got into interesting long conversations with some locals and strangers and even had a bit of a sing song. possibly because the food took a while. But it was so worth the wait. Curry cheese chips were next level stuff! Unreal

12/06/2026: I have eaten their pizza and burger both were so fresh. I would recommend this store to everyone if you are in Gort and want to have fresh and yummiest food. 10/10 kudos to the team …

08/03/2026: Completely changed from a couple yrs ago!! Serious food, lovely staff, fresh food in good time, no complaints except we are absolutely stuffed. Well worth every penny, the fish and chips is beautiful and im from the south coast of England, best ive had in Ireland in 20 years!! Highly recommend!!!!

28/06/2026: Popped in here for chips last week and they were extremely bad, super bland and soggy even right out of the fryer, the place also had a bunch of flies flying around the area you order which was seriously concerning.. efficient service hence the 2 stars but I wouldn’t rush back.

19/11/2025: Poppyseed is a wonderful place to spend an hour beside the river with an outdoor seated area overlooking the river and bay. The food is freshly cooked to order with plenty of variety. Coffee is the best I’ve had in any location worldwide!! Seriously, the coffee is a lovely blend. It is the heartbeat of Clarinbridge village. It has a beautiful garden centre practically linked to its back entrance. The staff are just lovely, well trained and very friendly. Go and enjoy. Pat Surlis

20/07/2026: Stopped for lunch , nice to see some interesting alternatives to the usual food. Food all good , good service and reasonable prices. Would give 4.5* if I could

15/05/2026: Contacted this company with less than 24 hours and they were able to get me something sorted for a surprise for a friend and delivered the next day. Communication 10/10 Cupcakes looked exactly like I wanted 👌 perfect. Absolutely recommend and will be using services again. Thanks so much.
