The best restaurants in Galway

09/06/2026: Hotel is an older hotel. Food is okay, breakfast can be better. No cheese and baked beans,no were there any cold cuts. Matrass in twin room (single bed )had seen better days, you could feel the springs.

08/06/2026: I had occasion to eat there twice while in County Galway. The meals were very good snd served quickly. The waitstaff was attentive and very friendly. They do a very good business so go early. Next time I'm in that area I will be eating there

17/07/2026: Ordered a spice bag and it had no peppers or diced chillies. Only onion and it seemed more or less raw rather than fried. Disappointed. The chips were nice and chicken nice and decent portions but had hoped for better

04/05/2026: **Edited** Fair play to them they seem to have given this some attention and have significantly improved their delivery service :) ---- Supermacs is great I love it - but the delivery service is really slow in Athenry. I know it's probably busy as hell, but 1.5 hours is too long to wait for an order to arrive. It's annoying because I want to order, I like Supermacs, but we don't wanna go out and grab the food sometimes, but it's literally not worth it unless you order like 2 hours in advance. We won't be ordering online anymore - Will still get collection sometimes because let's be honest - Supermacs is the best

04/08/2026: Food was great and service toop notch. We were starving after a long road trip on the day and needed the stop-off and food. Toliet were nice and clean.

11/04/2026: Hotel is lovely, staff were so friendly and helpful. Family room was so spacious. Room and ensuite was spotless and had everything anyone needed. Breakfast was lovely. Great parking at the back of hotel. We really enjoyed our time there.

26/02/2026: Staff friendly, apart from lady in bar, unwelcoming looked like she didn't want to be there. Everyone else was ok. Distinct smell of old grease as soon as you get to any of the doors, and inside the Hotel. Room is freezing cold, bathroom mold in shower tray, dirty shower head, mold along the top of the ceiling, and the glass shower door edges. The ceiling in main room had quite a bit of water damage in 2 places, room 215. Cobwebs everywhere, carpet dated. No firedoor at all. Smell of grease in room too. Had to ask to be moved, which they did. And they gave us a portable heater. Room 218, only slightly better, but again freezing, so welcomed to have the heater, no firedoor. Could see the hall light under the gap of door at night time. Smoke detector had a plaster on it, remote for TV didn't work properly at all. Restaurant, seats actually stuck to the floor, looked like the cold breakfast items were left out over night. Had some food in bar first night and ended up with food poisoning. Wouldn't eat in there again.

23/03/2026: Danagher’s in Cong is a lovely little place. Very nice rooms, very clean, very friendly staff. The bar downstairs seemed to be a local haunt. Very cozy and a great Irish coffee. It is right across the street from Pat Cohan’s and the cross for any Quiet Man fans.

10/11/2025: Love this place , lovely atmosphere, Thomas the Barman is a real gem he will always greet the customers with a big smile or his cheeky wink if his hands are full , he alone makes the place welcoming and Ann a bar lady here also you couldn’t hope for a nicer greeting from either one , NO COMPLAINTS , and the people of Cong and Mayo in general are DECENT welcoming people , so definitely give Danaghers a visit , my feeling is you shouldn’t regret it Clint and Anna

20/07/2026: Came in for dinner cause it says it closes at 9pm, but when I asked for a table for 3 at 5:20pm they turned us away cause they were closing. Maybe update your hours so people know?

12/04/2026: Hi everyone, I just bought some delicious food from Gala restaurant in Oranmore. The food was really tasty, and the staff were very friendly. It would have been even better if the satay sauce were a little thicker; that would have made it perfect. Thanks again, I'll be back soon!

05/07/2026: What’s the point in ordering online, says it would be ready for collection, I ordered online as I was on break at work, well thanks Supermacs Oranmore for messing that one up. Never again would I order online, useless concept. Pat Mcdonagh would want to have a look personally at the place, terrible operation. Unorganised chaos!
