The best restaurants in Galway

19/12/2025: I would never usually leave a review, but I waited in the drive-through for over 15 minutes today for just one plain chicken burger and a small portion of chips. I only ordered one meal for myself, so the wait time was disappointing. When I received my order, it wasn’t correct. I asked for a plain chicken burger meal and was given just a piece of chicken rather than a proper burger, which I wasn’t able to eat due to the way it was cooked. The whole reason for using the drive-through was convenience, as I was rushing and had somewhere to be. I’m leaving this review so others can see it and hopefully avoid being disappointed or held up due to the lack of organisation and apparent cluelessness of the staff.

07/03/2025: Good kebabs, good pizza. There's a friendly, generous staff and they turn around your order quickly. They have good specials and meal deals. They are one of the only take-aways that opens at noon and they offer some good lunch specials.

06/12/2025: Only ok. Pizza soggy. Chicken wings weren't available so had a piece of chicken, was cooked for hours.

26/11/2025: I attended the drive through... and was dissappointed they didnt complete the order, leaving out sauces which they took payment for.. I was home when i discovered the omission. Its not the first time. Always check your order before driving away.

02/08/2025: Basic food but not too bad. Staff pleasant but a bit clueless. Nice setting. Place needs a manager.

11/10/2025: Just a little bit in the middle of nowhere but a real nice place to stay in, staff very friendly, food good, rooms comfortable and warm a little on the older side but nice.

14/08/2025: The rooms were adequate but felt outdated. Both the bathroom sinks and showers struggled to drain water. At one point, I turned the shower off to let the water drain before I finished rinsing my hair because it almost overflowed into the bathroom. Family in other rooms said they witnessed the same situations. The meals were average and service was very slow. Drinks were expensive and not very tasty. Our waitresses were pleasant and always apologizing for the long wait for food. When ordering meals, some days we got “x” and other days we got “y” when ordering the exact same dish. No explanations were given when we asked why yesterday the dish was different. Breakfast was also hit or miss. The options were slim and the tables often ran out of bread, butter, cereals… and no one replenished them. Coffee refills were nonexistent unless you asked - and even then, be prepared to wait, and wait, and wait for your refill. The card keys were always deactivating. We had to get new card keys several times. At one point, our card deactivated 3 times in less than an hour. We were locked out and at the mercy of the empty reception desk. I would recommend making reservations elsewhere.

19/07/2025: When make the chip - is very good. 3/5 stars always ask 'salt & vinegar` Very plush bathroom - better than train station to drop a dogginz in - too close to Lrsa gaf if I am being honest Sure that's grand

26/09/2025: Odd place, I ordered a rendang curry and got a bowl of chicken and veg with a McDonnells style curry.

20/09/2025: I do like the food but our order has been incorrect at least 4 times when we have had delivery. Very disappointed as we wait at least an hour for delivery and then it's wrong. This ruins it for everyone as there's always someone let down

06/07/2025: Exceptional service and food. The kids were delighted. kids fish fingers were freshly made fish goujons. kids pasta came with proper pasta sauce and parmesan. our server who may have been German was even dancing the kids, great craic. The pork belly and salmon mains were exceptional too and all the bar staff extremely helpful and friendly. my wife has some allergies and they went the extra mile to make it really easy

06/06/2025: Pretty standard fare, nothing great, nothing awful. Their online advertising suggests modern and contemporary food, but really this is a basic set of pizzas and a few more meals, so nothing that ambitious. Pizzas were ok (again nothing flash) as was dessert, and one of our water glasses was very unclean. Settling up at the end took forever, as our server (who had been great until then) didn’t mention paying up at the entrance instead of at the table - we waited 15+ minutes after he brought the bill before we got up and did this ourselves.

25/11/2025: Fabulous chicken biryani, TWICE the size of any portion I've ever had on a takeaway...the taste and quality of the food is equal to the best I've eaten in the west...very friendly staff, I'll be recommending them to anyone who will listen....I'd give them 6 stars if I could .

31/07/2025: Good Madras with breast of chicken and king prawns. Breads were oven fresh and way better than rice for soaking up all that sauce.

29/11/2025: Really lovely staff. Very welcoming and accommodating. We had the shashuka for breakfast which was so tasty (and so rare to find in Galway) so nice to have a variety and also reasonably priced. Definitely will return ! 😀😀😀

26/11/2025: Gala is the best Chinese I've ever been to. It's our go to takeaway and is always fresh and great portions. Service is always 10/10. Couldn't recommend a Chinese highly enough!

21/11/2025: My Just Eat delivery arrived early without notification - doorbell woke up rest of the house. My sweet and sour chicken smell from overburned oil and tasted bitter. Meal binned.

16/10/2025: Yummy vegetarian options - the Szechuan and Chop Suey (I think that was what it was called… the garlicky one) were grand

12/08/2025: We like how there is a variety, they’ve got you covered. We usually mix and match black bean beef for me, thai curry for my partner and salt and chilli wings as a must have side. Never disappoints
