16/02/2025: Give yourself a treat. Brian is a character and made the stay. It was like being in a lifelike version of Scooby Doo 🤣 being told tales of history in the bar to everyone attending dinners at set times. Had such a great time and will be booking again!

11/02/2025: Celebrating my mother's 70th birthday here was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, the warm and attentive staff made us feel welcome and special. Special touches like the complimentary Prosecco reception with a local history talk, followed by beautiful piano music and lively entertainment, elevated the experience beyond compare. I didn't have the opportunity to visit the spa this time, but it's definitely on my list for the next visit! What truly sets Abbeyglen Castle apart is their exceptional hospitality. They go above and beyond to ensure a personalised experience for each guest. Brian, the host, is an absolute gem - his warmth, genuine kindness, and attentiveness made us feel like cherished guests throughout our stay. He even took photos and printed them for us as keepsakes, a thoughtful touch that went above and beyond. In all my years of travel, I've never experienced such genuine hospitality and warmth, apart from the last time we stayed her many years ago for my fathers 60th! Every member of our large family group, from the youngest to the oldest, thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay.

23/02/2025: We had a lovely dinner here on our trip to Clifden. It is a must visit for your trip to Clifden, food is all cooked fresh and family run so excellent service and real community feeling! Dinner and breakfast are great here, excellent value for money also!

30/12/2024: Horrendously overpriced! Had fish pie: 20 euro 95 cents!!! Is this a joke? The pie was an ordinary fish pie, with a small salad. Was in a hurry so paid this outrageous price. If you are prepared to pay these prices you definitely have money to throw away. Lots of other restaurants in Clifden with good food at a more reasonable price.

23/12/2024: Delicious! Great deal for app + entree. Service was a great pace and everything we ate was delicious, the whole family was happy. Larger servings. Must get the oysters when they have them, best we’ve ever had (and we eat a lot of oysters!)

18/02/2025: This is my 3rd time to stay here. The staff are always exceptional and the food is lovely. My only pet peeve is a shower curtain. Everything else in the room is great. Water in the room, sockets beside the bed, even a usb socket.

12/11/2024: Called in for dinner on our way through Clifden the food was very good! We had curry and the Shepard's pie. They have a nice enclosed area out the back of the pub to look out at the river too

06/02/2025: We had a delicious meal here and everything was excellent. The mushroom risotto was very nice and the affogato for dessert. Staff were lovely too!
