The best restaurants in Clifden

10/11/2024: Warm welcome nice cosy surroundings and spoilt for choice on whisky.The staff are efficient but not to the point they don't have time to chat. Live music is a must to see. The place has character (and as certificates state) nationally recognised for it. The frontage is well kept and you won't miss it as you walk around the town. Take time go in, sit down and I'm sure you'll enjoy.

15/09/2024: A group of 16 ladies stayed in the Clifden Station House Hotel in a combination of hotel rooms & apartments, to say we had the best time would be selling it short, from the time we arrived we were treated so well, by the time we left we were on first names with all the staff , Martin , Darren & James to mention a few, & the owner also came to our table over dinner to say Hello, we were also blessed with fabulous weather for our weekend trip, We will definitely be back, hopefully in 2025 😊😎🥂☀️

17/11/2024: Fairytale venue for my cousin's wedding. Charming, high end hotel with impeccable service, exceptional food and real character. The rooms and common areas are refined and elegant without being stuffy or uncomfortable. Staff was absolutely lovely and made the experience one we won't soon forget. Location is wonderful ...you are kind of secluded, but in a few minutes walk you are in Clifden for shops, pubs, etc. Hope to be back soon!

16/11/2024: What a wonderful jewel in the crown. The staff are so professional, friendly, and helpful. The food was delicious, with ample servings (and more should you want some). A family run business (hotel) that's now in its second generation and the family work hard at making sure ALL guests are comfortable and looked after no matter the time of day.

18/10/2024: Fresh fish and chips tasty. Atmospheric place. Nice service

17/10/2024: Stopped for a quick lunch. Excellent food, I can definitely recommend 👌 👍

22/10/2024: No problem with our "princess" Pomeranian coming along. Great selection of seafood, meat dishes and hint of French and Indian influences/dishes. Dinner and lunch so far in past 24 hours and will be back on this break. Good pint of Guinness - no draught Murphy's or Coors.

21/10/2024: Very nice and pleasant expérience for a mid day lunch. Good advise from the waitress. Smiling and attentative. The stew Irish: Very excellent, but you have to be a very eater to finish it. At last we have Taken Bailey coffee for my wife and an Irish coffee for me. Excellent toi. Very adress.

06/11/2024: This was our 2nd visit to Foyles and Clifden this year, located in the heart of the town, this family run and very welcoming hotel is worth a visit, we will definitely be back!! The breakfast is top notch every morning, the sausage and bacon in particular are beautiful, and you have to have your dinner in The Marconi restaurant, it's the best in the town, and we tried plenty but none came close!

05/11/2024: We stayed here for three nights last weekend. The hotel was perfect for our needs both with location and cleanliness. Good size room and spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and food great. Would come back here if visiting again. Thanks.

30/09/2024: Lovely place for a bite to eat - it was almost full when I visited but they got me a table. Service was quick and the meal was very good and filling. Parking can be a bit of a lottery but keep cruising and s spot will open up. Recommended.

19/09/2024: Walked in around 8.30pm as a single and they accommodated me on the one table that had just been vacated …. Had the pate to start with … great flavour, jelly on top had a tang to it to offset the creaminess of the pate. Could have had another piece of crouton or 2 (and I’m sure if I asked they would have obliged) still had some complimentary bread so cleaned it off with that. Main course had the lamb shank … bit of potato overload with mash, bake and fries (sent the fries back) lamb was tasty and tender and the sauce had a good flavour. (Was a bit short on sauce so requested more and it was not an issue.) came with carrots and parsnip which were well cooked and a side bowl of broccoli baby corn and more carrots. Bonus - had a nice tasty Shiraz on the wine list from Australia! Staff were attentive and the place was packed. Definitely recommend.

03/11/2024: Stopped in on a very quiet Sunday evening. Our server, Julie was incredibly kind and attentive. The food was the best we’ve had in a while (beef stew and lamb curry). I also love at the end of the menu they list the local farms they source the meat & veggies from. Highly recommend stopping in

20/07/2024: Does not look a whole lot from the outside but the food turned out to be worth the risk. Few locals inside so it obviously passing the return test. Had the soup which was spectacular, sandwich was delightful, we had to top it with a cake. Glad we did and thanks to the very hospitable lady who served. Thanks.

11/11/2024: In the heart of the town of Clifden is a nicely kept well presented cafe/restaurant come B&B. The room was spacious clean and came with all you needed. The breakfast was a lovely traditional irish fry that keeps you going for the day. Teas/coffee for all tastes. In the evening the menu really catered for all tastes but Tappas and pasta a must to sample.

07/11/2024: Restaurant pretty poor.Several Items not available from menu(it happens)Wines not available from menu(unusual)Waitress returned to table several times to check,confirm orders etc.Below average low grade charcutarie.Duck breast inedible. Not sure where the great reviews are coming from.Overall disapointing experience.

30/03/2024: Great local pub with a fun atmosphere and goof music. They've recently added a food menu as well. It's pretty typical "American" style bar food. The smash burgers and chicken wings are excellent and often exactly what you need after a few pints.
