08/03/2026: Took the opportunity to have dinner there recently as a treat/date night and have to say it was a great evening. Food was a little slow to arrive but it was very busy and food was more than worth the wait. The pork chop was the nicest thing I have eaten in a good long time.

08/03/2026: Nice hotel, great breakfast, wonderful and attentive staff from the moment you walk in the door until checkout.  Beautiful park right next door. Our room faced an inner opening area with a view of the roof below.  While it is inevitable that some of the rooms need to face an area like this if they are going to have an opening window (or any window), the hotel management could take steps to improve it somewhat. Having supervised construction work for decades, I can see that the mechanical equipment on the roof below is of high quality, but the amount of dirt allowed to accumulate on it is not.  You wouldn't allow your lobby windows or front steps to be so filthy, so why this equipment in full view of hundreds of your guests every week? Clean this up and make this view at least a bit more presentable and people with those rooms won't feel quite so screwed by the high prices charged for them.

25/02/2026: I vist Dublin 3 or 4 times a year and always make time to go to the Brass Monkey, great food, service, staff and a relaxing atmosphere.

01/03/2026: Terrible customer service! We came in yesterday waited 20 minutes for a server to take our order at the table. When I went up to ask for a menu, the girl said that the bigger menu was for upstairs only, due to peak times which was understandable. She rang upstairs and asked if there was a table for two, to which she said to me that it would be five minutes. We were kept waiting. Twenty more minutes passed and another server, this time with black hair and a beard came to take our order. We asked could we go upstairs. He said "But here is better!" I replied that we wanted to avail from the bigger menu. He shrugged his shoulders and said okay. When I asked him how long it would be until we could go upstairs, he said, "I don't know. Maybe twenty or thirty minutes." We decided that we had enough, so we left to go to a better place with better service. We were not going to wait more than an hour to get food nevermind noone coming to take our drinks order either. I know that it was busy but staff should not have promised us a table then completely ignore and forget about us. I work in the hospitality trade so I know how it goes but this experience was completely unacceptable for a so-called award-winning restaurant. I have had a good experience in the past but I cannot ever come back to this place again if this is what you call customer service irrespective of peak times.

22/03/2026: The food was delicious, the fish was fresh and literally melted in your mouth, and the wine was perfectly matched. I recommend it 10/10 😉

21/03/2026: unique and delicious spins on classics, served in a cozy spot, buly the super hip. the fish cakes and John Dory are fantastic! the staff were very good and kept a nice casual conversation going with the not so hip crew I was part of.

28/09/2025: Very pleasant atmosphere, great service, and good food. For such an iconic place, it's not overly expensive compared to other places in Dublin.

28/09/2025: Stopped in for a pint and to hang a FD patch. Staff were great and made me take a selfie with it.

25/02/2026: Food is always tops here so are the staff and the two lads running the show so helpful they always accommodate us with my dad who has severe dementia

08/03/2026: For food: We had scallops and salmon as starters, the portion is very mini, for mains we had cod fish and mixed grill, cod is very creamy and very tasty, mixed grill is a proper size but I won’t really recommend it doesn’t taste as nice as expected. For dessert, tbh I feel very gutted it’s like a premade cheesecake I could get in a shop like Lotts and Co, but paid such a high price for a basic premade cheesecake. I would recommend to try something different, the cheesecake is so average and won’t amaze you For location and atmosphere, very close to Trinity so a solid location, we walked in at an early time like 6pm on Tuesday night, no harm to do a booking if you wanna go in at the weekend or during summer. Overall, nice to give it a go, but considering the total expense I don’t think will go back again. I would rate it 3.8/ 5.
