13/01/2025: Excellent food. I was with a group that was celebrating a wedding anniversary. The floor staff were amazing, so friendly and accommodating. The standard of food was very high even though it was at end of season. Definitely a must visit If in Kenmare ..

23/12/2024: We had a family dinner today to celebrate my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. A wonderful little restaurant, and the christmas decorations made it even more charming. I’ve had Shepherd’s Pie many times in Ireland, but the one they serve at this small restaurant was absolutely the best. We’ll be back for sure!

30/12/2024: We were in the danny mann for 14 of us and although they were very busy, the manager accommodated us on two separate tables. The food was out of this world and the service was top class. The staff were rushed off their feet as every seat was full. It was a great afternoon and we would highly recommend it.

04/01/2025: Went there twice recently and it's a definite for anyone visiting Killarney. One of the best whiskey collections you could wish to see and the staff and atmosphere were brilliant. You can bottle your own whiskey which is really cool. Didn't have food just drinks but the food looked excellent as well.

17/11/2024: Éramos una fiesta de cuatro, dos adultos y dos niños. En primer lugar nos sorprendió encontrar el restaurante lleno a las 3. 30 de la tarde, pero un miembro del personal muy acogedor dijo que haría todo lo posible para encontrarnos un espacio y en pocos minutos estábamos sentados. Obviamente había estado muy ocupado durante el almuerzo, así que no todo en el menú estaba disponible, pero nuestro servidor ofreció muy buenos sustitutos tanto para adultos como para niños. Todo lo que pedimos estaba recién cocinado y muy bien servido con algunos toques agradables como una porción gratuita de patatas fritas. Pudín de café pegajoso para el desierto era de primera clase y buenos cafés con leche redondearon una excelente comida. Fue fácil ver por qué el lugar estaba tan ocupado. Obviamente la gente local sabe lo bueno que es y disfruta de una agradable experiencia gastronómica

08/11/2024: Acabo de tener uno de los especiales: Tocino y col con salsa de crema de perejil, puré de papa, col y swede. Atendido por una camarera húngara adorable. Estaba delicioso. Muy recomendable, aunque no un servicio rápido.

05/12/2024: This place was such a treat for the weary travelers that my Dad and I were at this point in our epic Ireland adventure. The wonderful manager at the Ballyroe Heights Hotel had sent us here to wait for our bed and breakfast owners to make it back from Dublin. The staff was so gracious and accommodating. First let's start with the food though. The oysters were amazing. We got both the natural and grilled oysters to start both were amazing! Then we both got different seafood specials that didn't disappoint. Then the staff were such great people we couldn't thank them enough. We left to meet the B & B owners nobody was home. We ended up coming back my phone was useless in the area and we couldn't get ahold of the owners. They called them found out they got held up by an accident on the way. So we ended up just having to hangout with the great staff in a wonderful place until the owners came and joined us before heading back for the night. What a fun experience and so happy to be able to share it with the great food and staff at The Oyster Tavern!

30/11/2024: A few years ago, I wrote that these pub was lucky to not be invaded by tourist groups, and that was right for more than twelve years we know the place. Unfortunately, from the moment the former owners got a well deserved retirement, things have changed. And today, we local people were chased away for to leave the place for a tourist group 😡. After this bad experience, we decided to return in winter and found back the lovely place we love, so I change my rating... But we'd rather avoid this place in summer.

03/11/2024: This loop has very limited dining menu, so it’s great to find this restaurant. Menu is a bit limited but good dish.

30/12/2024: As always, freshest fish, impeccable but friendly service and great atmosphere. They now have a cute bar upstairs so you can have a drink whilst you wait for your table to become available- very clever ❤️

31/12/2024: We were amazed with the food at Solas. Very attentive staff. Beautifully presented. The only problem which isn't their fault was a large group who were extremely loud. It's such a small, intimate place that the noise level is pretty bad.

17/12/2024: After the ridiculously expensive "meal" we had in Solas last week we won't be going back ever again.This place is like the Emperor's new clothes. The prices have reached a mocking their customers level and the quantity and quality of the food,a lot of deep fried food,has been lowered significantly. Know where your food comes from indeed.Combine this with the price of the wine,(they should be ashamed of the mark up per glass) and you not only feel hangry leaving but you also feel like you've just been mugged.
