04/08/2025: The food is great. But their idea of a half litre of wine is way short of reality. And they had an excuse that was far too pre-prepared. Shocking.

14/07/2025: Fabulous experience!! A group of us went there for my partner’s 30th birthday and the staff and owner went to great lengths to ensure she felt celebrated. The food was beautiful and the atmosphere unparalleled - could not recommend this restaurant more

12/07/2025: What a great evening we had at Sage. The staff were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I had a mixed seafood starter and then grilled sea bass. Just excellent food. We all enjoyed everything that was put before us.

04/07/2025: This definitely has the wow factor! This was a really good find on Insta. It’s worth a visit. We went for dinner and it did not disappoint! The food was totally amazing, the taste, texture and presentation was like looking at a window of diamonds! The staff were friendly, attentive and made the experience delightful. Fabulous and we will definitely be back 👍👍👍

17/07/2025: We loved our stay at Belleek Castle! The staff were wonderful, the room was charming, and the grounds are gorgeous. We had a beautiful dinner at the library restaurant, delicious cocktails in the lounge, and the included breakfast was the best of the trip (and beautifully presented). Highly recommend!

13/07/2025: Just back from afternoon tea with my Mum and Aunt. Raquel was looking after us and nothing was too much bother. Food was delicious and service outstanding. Location beautiful and interior outstanding. Can't thank Raquel enough for her care of us. Will be back without hesitation.

10/07/2025: We have eaten here so many times since 2011. The best food ever you can get on earth, no exaggeration. Mustafa is superb and welcoming and the food is simply brilliant. Always fresh, always delicious, always makes you wanting more. 05/06/2025: First time to the Dining Room since the restaurant changed hands in recent years. We were on an overnight stay in Castlebar, and having read some great reviews (most notably The Irish Times), I was looking forward to dining there. Not the usual A La Carte menu on offer, and instead there's two set four-course menus to choose from.... we opted for menu offering good selection of fish, poultry and vegetarian dishes. We were warmly greeted by the restaurant manager Shirley and shown to our table. The restaurant was busy for a bank holiday Saturday night and there was a good atmosphere with reasonable sound levels (nothing worse than restaurant full of loud patrons and you can't hear yourself think literally!) Prompt service at the outset - with starters and mains ordered, along with a bottle of the house red (three to choose from). Overall the wine and drinks menu is varied and very reasonably priced. Both of our starters and main courses were - in a word - 'sublime' and we looked forward to tasting their desserts. However, that's where it all turned sour (for want of a better word) because we waited the best part of over 30 minutes to see a dessert menu. It felt like once the dishes for main courses were removed, they forgot we there, as other patrons came and went, and service seemed to be on the ball (many of them appeared to be local diners and were friendly with the manager and staff). When we finally were given a dessert menu, it then took some more time to be served. Overall, I enjoyed my dessert but alas my sister found her dish rather bland and tasteless.....plus it's unacceptable to have to wait nearly 40 mins or more to sample the final course of the evening. Sadly, we didn't think the Dining Room was worthy of a service tip.... nor was our experience worthy of five stars. Not sure if I would go back.

25/05/2025: Great food, great service, lovely atmosphere. The menu maybe limited, but the quality was extraordinary. The staff were not very knowledgeable, but also very helpful and friendly.

29/07/2025: Excellent food, great service. This was a great experience. If I'm ever in Ballina again I'd go back. Smoked salmon and crabmeat for starter was something else. Had salmon for main and my partner had the burger. Sauces were unreal. I'd give them 10 out of 10. I wish I could have bought some of the smoked salmon home! Well done Dillons.

14/07/2025: Hadn’t booked in advance. Restaurant was very busy. We found the staff very accommodating and welcoming. Food was delicious. Service was excellent. Would definitely recommend and would return.

28/05/2025: This is a wonderful place. Hugh and all the staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is absolutely delicious, and the Guinness is great too. I have eaten here on numerous occasions, and it’s always first class. The scones and homemade bread are incredible. Make sure you book to avoid disappointment!

23/07/2025: A generously sized restaurant located in the heart of Westport, near the river. It has a veranda and outdoor seating. The restaurant is spread across several rooms, and there are several TVs for watching sports. I was there for dinner. The staff was attentive, helpful, and quick with their service. The food is good, although the menu isn't very varied. It's adequate, but unfortunately the beer selection isn't great. The dessert menu is good. I had soup and sea bass with puree and cooked vegetables.

20/07/2025: The food was excellent but unfortunately our experience was ruined by the service we received. We were rushed from the moment we arrived, despite having a reservation. We were given barely any time to read the menu and felt so uncomfortable for our whole meal. This was a special weekend away and probably the worst service I have experienced. Such a shame when the food was so good.

22/07/2025: We went twice in our Westport visit - in the day before music on a Monday and was fairly busy but sat at the bar and good craic. Went in the evening around 22.30 with the live music. This is not traditional and the guy was singing the Beatles and then I predicted American pie... Why when there's so many wonderful Irish bands and songs so was very disappointed but the venue itself is good and wouldn't hold that against them but it is typically always a singer it isn't session music like some think.

21/07/2025: The music lured us in from the street and we didn't regret coming. Nice atmosphere, good beer, good music. What more could you want from an irish pub?

03/08/2025: The food here is outstanding. They clearly use high quality fresh, local ingredients. It’s always packed in the evenings so a reservation is essential. My only complaint is they removed the fish & chips from their menu and it was honestly the best I’d tried in Ireland.

30/07/2025: We had amazing food excellent local fish and a beautiful local beef casserole in the ba/ restaurant m. This place had a great vibe and really friendly stuff. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Westport and an added bonus, they are dog friendly. #Dogfriendly #Westport #TheHelmWestport
