31/01/2026: The Woodfire is a great place to eat and dine, if you have a hankering for Pizza. Wifey and Hubby went with a couple of friends. And all were happy and full with the menu. Wifey and Hubby Haven't been back for at least 6 odd years. Back then the menu range was bigger and more diverse. Now they are more selective, specialising in pizzas. A decent meal option, which they do very well. Hubby was silly, opting not to pizza, in a place that specializes in oven pizzas. Everyone else did, hubby went with the lamb burger, which was great, but was something he did regret. I like Pizza, I prefer a deep pan style myself, here they prefer the thin crust. but the question hubby asked himself was would I order it for dinner? Still Wifey had the pineapple one, which I had a few slices of. Regardless of the pineapple topping, I cannot fault it in the slightest. The only disappointment with the menu was the lack of desserts or even coffees at the end. We all left full and not wanting more, but I wish there was something available to end the meal. Side note, the chips are good too. Hand cut and homemade. A small decent high quality portion. Either way a great place to eat pizza and wine. Or in Hubby's case IPA, definitely recommend...

08/01/2026: Nice bar, service ok, nice atmosphere but the food I had was pricey for a poor quality. Definitely not gastropub food. I had a fish and chips, fish was ok, but at this price you can't serve frozen chips, the same you'd find in a 5 euros kebab. It's not complicated to cut potatoes and make fresh chips, it's the basis of cooking. (Looking at previous photos of your chips, they looked way better before)

12/12/2025: What a beautiful café! I had breakfast here this morning and enjoyed a lovely mini breakfast. The service was prompt, and the owner is wonderful — He really looks after everyone with genuine care. A lovely addition to Westport!

19/01/2026: On a cold, wet Mayo evening, my wife Vivien and I found exactly the welcome we needed at An Port Mór restaurant in the county. From the moment we arrived, Lucy and Sophie greeted us with a warmth and ease that immediately set the tone for a memorable night, making the weather outside feel entirely irrelevant. I began with beautifully prepared smoked salmon, followed by a blade of beef that was nothing short of superb - rich, tender, and deeply satisfying, before finishing with a perfectly executed crème brûlée, all accompanied by elegant, well-chosen wines that complemented each course effortlessly. Vivien’s meal was equally impressive: a comforting, flavourful soup to start, followed by delicately cooked hake, and a pavlova that was as light and delicious as it was beautifully presented. Port Mór once again reminded us why it remains our favourite restaurant in the West of Ireland if not the '32' counties: exceptional food, thoughtful wine pairings, and lovely people with genuine hospitality that turns an evening out into something truly special. 03/02/2026: Had a nice birthday dinner a while back. One of the best salmon dishes I've had in a long time. And the champ potatoes hit the spot. Kid friendly. My son now enjoys burgers after having one here. Servers were very welcoming and friendly. Will return on my next trip to Ballina.

25/01/2026: Do you know when you go to a different town and you are a little tired and dishevelled? We booked in here for the two of us on short notice. Girl on the phone was lovely on the phone and in person. We were made to feel very welcome which is in my opinion the most important part of any restaurant. Food was excellent and very good value for the portions. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the town. It deserves the reviews.

22/01/2026: This was the only place we saw that had early (~6:30pm) music on a Thursday in January. The music wasn't at all traditional Irish, but the crowd was having a great time and the singer was eager and enthusiastic. The drinks are reasonable and the bar is lovely. There were plenty of locals and they seemed to love the place, and we had several good chats with lovely people.

29/12/2025: The staff in Porterhouse displayed the utmost hospitality! Jerry and Ciaran were specifically amazing. As a group of five women, we felt particularly safe and looked after when a man accosted us in the pub. Jerry and Ciaran made sure that the situation was dealt with accordingly and looked after us for the whole night. The music was amazing and the vibe was so welcoming and enjoyable! I would recommend to anyone visiting Westport.

29/01/2026: This place is brilliant. Best food in Mayo and the staff are so good. We had lunch early in the day and dinner in the evening, the food is so good you keep coming back. Beautiful food,beautiful bar and great staff.100% recommend to anyone.very enjoyable.
