The best restaurants in Meath

08/09/2026: I popped in here on Aug 28th to treat my two boys after their first day back at school. There is a large menu by the counter, but they don't want you to stand there and actually look at it- let's just say the chef could not find a mannerly way of asking us to clear the aisle. The 'waitress' offered a small table for.. two. Due to the lovely weather I said we'd try the outside table- well she could not hide her disappointment at having to provide service outside- why have an outside table then? After we'd picked our pizzas I went back inside to drop back the menus. As the waitress was passing by I politely called her attention and said we were all set to order. Keep in mind that the place was mostly empty. She completely ignored me..I mean..Completely. She then walked over to take an order from a couple with a cute baby that had arrived in well after we had. So, no queue system then I guess? A little embarrassed in front of my boys, before things got any worse, I decided to take them home- you learn to read the warning signs over the years. So, in my opinion they don't like to see people with children coming in. If you have family with you I would avoid. Now, maybe there were a series of misunderstandings, as the waitress had gone to the toilet, and maybe she had just forgotten about us. I mean, good people would never view customers as the same as the dirt on their shoes, ..would they? (Can't rate food).

08/09/2026: We love eating here. The food is fantastic - fresh, full of flavour and great portion sizes. The service is excellent and the staff are so friendly. Grzegorz and Co. really make an effort to ensure customers are looked after and have a great dining experience.

14/09/2026: I was so impressed by the overall experience at Snailbox. We went as a family to emerald park and I did a quick google search of pub grub nearby so we could stop for dinner on the way home. Without booking we were seated immediately, offering free ev charging for our car and a high chair provided for baby. We were seated in a lovely bench nook which was very handy with kids. I had the stew which was delicious, my husband vegan stir fry and our 4 year old hake & chips. We were delighted the restaurant did hake, a much more sustainable choice of fish…it was delicious. One small suggestion is that they add another vegan option I.e. vegan roast as I feel my husband missed out a bit! Service was exceptional and I loved the history & charm. Brilliant for families. We will be back!

08/09/2026: A million/10. First time trying it out last weekend and it absolutely lived up to the expectations. The staff are the friendliest I’ve experienced. Breakfast was incredible. Coffees delicious. & pastries too many to choose from - they all looked amazing. Can’t recommend enough.

22/07/2026: Fantastic place my son got married there and have to say the place is amazing so clean tidy everything very well taken care off and couldn't do enough for the wedding highly recommend it

28/07/2026: Wonderful. Grabbed a late breakfast there with my family. The lads friendly , welcoming and accommodating. Food was so good we didnt have time to think about taking pictures of it. We had pancakes x2 (serving is 4 pancakes plate) lattes x2 and the breakfast blaa x2. There is a little self service for water at the bar. That came about €50 Delicious and homey!Definitely coming back for more.Friendly service. Free wifi . There is a bathroom for diners. Enough said.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

26/07/2026: A lovely spot for coffee in the heart of Trim town. Friendly and attentive staff with a nice outside seating area - but my God the prices!€4.95 for a small piece of carrot cake and the same for a Rocky Road!

24/07/2026: Went there this evening and did not have a booking as did not think we needed it and did not say it online. Walked down to the restaurent and it said on the signs outside that it has pizza and cocktails and not mentioning a booking and we walked in and it was quiet enough and first thing asked was do we have a booking and we did not and got told we would be not allowed a table without a booking. Said they had so many pizza bases which is ridiculous. Not good for anyone travelling thorough the town. Walk ins obviously not welcome.

10/09/2026: Excellent dinner at a beautiful location/setting. The building and grounds are wonderful. The staff attentive and welcoming. A great way to start our first trip to Ireland. The food was excellent (although my husband would have preferred his Crispy Monkfish Loin to be one solid piece versus slices, he said it was very good tho). Bruchetta app was great-love all the garlic. The linguine pomodoro was excellent, pasta perfectly cooked, flavorful sauce, and the shrimp were evidently grilled and had a wonderful slightly smokey flavor. All around a great experience!

07/09/2026: I think this is the most beautiful restaurant I've ever been too. I was so surprised with the prices being so decent. A restaurant this nice in my country would be super expensive. The service was great, we had a good laugh with our waiter. You can see the pizza man making your meal, it's great. The best tiramisu I've had for a good while! You can visit the ruin behind the restaurant, it's really stunning.

20/07/2026: Very good atmosphere and very quiet. Good service, very polite workers. And the cafe was nice and clean. I ordered a turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce with tomato soup. It was very nice but the tomato soup could be more creamier and sweeter, it was a bit watery. But I still enjoyed it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

17/08/2026: To be really honest this was my best Indian restraunt experience in Ireland. The food was outstanding and the owner himself came to recommend few dishes and also customize them avcording to what we wanted. The presentation was really very great. For vegetarians also they have amazing dishes. Me and my friends really enjoyed a lot and had a great meal.

13/09/2026: ⭐ 1 Star – Extremely disappointing experience after almost 20 years of visiting I have been a regular visitor to Zucchini’s for almost 20 years. The food has always been excellent, and 99% of my restaurant and hotel reviews are positive. I am not someone who enjoys bashing businesses, which makes this review particularly disappointing. I booked a table online for my wife, my parents in their 70s and our 10-month-old baby. The booking system offered the option to add an infant and asked about buggy and high-chair requirements. I completed the booking and received confirmation. On arrival, I was told I had not booked for the infant and that there was no space for our group. I explained that I had booked correctly and tested the website on my phone, discovering that the infant appeared to disappear from the booking afterwards. I have screenshots and videos showing this. When I calmly raised the issue, the owner became extremely confrontational, told me to leave and threatened to call the Garda. This was deeply upsetting for my family, particularly my 77-year-old father. I want to give genuine credit to the assistant manager, who was polite, respectful and understanding. He acknowledged that there appeared to be an issue with the website and immediately tried to resolve the situation. Unfortunately, by that stage, we no longer felt comfortable remaining and decided to leave. Why I have been forced to post this review I initially posted a review on TripAdvisor and deliberately waited 24 hours to give the owner an opportunity to reflect and contact me. No such contact came. The restaurant’s response to my TripAdvisor review is inaccurate and fails to tell the full story. It states that the issue was resolved, but completely omits the threats made to intimidate me and my family. It also fails to acknowledge that we were respectful throughout, and that the assistant manager treated us with courtesy and professionalism. The owner was the person who was rude and confrontational, she was the only member of staff that we had any issue with. She did not have the manners to acknowledge any mistake, either at the restaurant or afterwards, and instead blamed me for a problem with the booking system. What makes this particularly frustrating is that I can now see the option to add an infant has been removed from their website. The issue appears to have been corrected, yet there has still been no apology. I have therefore felt forced to post this Google review as well as my TripAdvisor review, because I do not believe the restaurant’s response accurately reflects what happened. I have huge sympathy for the staff here, particularly the assistant manager, who handled a very difficult situation with professionalism and respect.

28/08/2026: Really impressed. Both had 3 courses, all irish sourced food. The lamb main was a special on the night and was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. All 6 courses did not disappoint. To highlight my wife said, her black pudding salad starter was potentially the nicest starter she has ever had. Staff were all smiling and there was a nice atmosphere with the music playing at a reasonable decibel level. 10/10 would recommend.

16/08/2026: Went in with family for dinner. It was busy for a Sunday afternoon at 420pm so I was expecting to wait. At 440pm I seen other people had come in just after us and had been given food withun 20 mins. Still waiting s I questioned the wait and told its on the way. At 455pm I went up again and asked and told it was on the way. I said we've been sitting there nearly 40 mins and no sign of the food yet. Not happy. She said it was only ordered 20 mins ago not 40 mins. In that case the first girl had forgot to put the order through. At 505pm I said this has to be sorted soon it's ridiculous. It came out 3 minutes later. There was no effort made to adjust the bill because of their negligence, couldn't even take a couple of cluh orange drinks off as a gesture of good well on their part. Was my first time there in a long time and I can say I'll never be back again. Because this used to always be a great pub back in the day. Shame to see it gone to the dogs. Very let down by the service. The only saving grace was the food was nice but it was not worth waiting nearly an hour for when it was their issue and they didn't want to accept responsibility. Would have been great otherwise. Shame. And would certainly not recommend.

22/08/2026: Honestly one of the best kebabs I’ve had! The food was absolutely gorgeous, really fresh and full of flavour. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the service was brilliant. Great portions, really reasonable prices and loads of options to choose from. Would 100% recommend The Kebab Palace — definitely one of the best kebab spots around!
