28/09/2025: Stopped in there thinking it was just some little roadside bar for a quick bite but surprised by how good it was. Great atmosphere, great food, and great service. Highly recommended!

15/09/2025: myself and my partner went in over the weekend, had an absolutely fabulous meal and beautiful cocktails😊the waitresses were fantastic couldn’t have asked for better service. Highly recommend giving it a try. Only fault i could give is the music is slightly loud but other than that the place is wonderful

06/09/2025: A true Irish pub. One where you can chat with everyone, sip a Guinness while listening to traditional music, and enjoy excellent service. The best Guinness I've ever tasted. And if you stop by on a Friday, try to find the key that opens the chest... you could win!

06/09/2025: I never review anything normally. I have to speak out about the atrocity of a "breakfast roll" and coffe I paid over 15 euro for. I left with the takeaway bag and when I was back on the road I opened it. Firstly, it was not even a roll. It was a horror show sandwich. Two slices of soft, floppy, thin, unbuttered sourdough flanked an absolute mess of barely cooked meat. The bottom layer was a thick battery of cut in half wet soggy flavourless sausages who's only well cooked part were the peeling casings, which slithered off, leaving behind joyness luke warm meat fingers. There were half inch thick puddings the size of the palm of your hand, only cooked on one side. Also deeply without taste. The gooey meat texture sticking to your mouth, offering only sadness. The unsalted egg was sad but it was cooked ok. I was hoping the rashers, of which there were too many, would offer a salty seasoned bite to the rest of the blank meat pudge, but they too were just warm wet plain and fatty. The combination of it all smelled faintly like a wet draining board. It was repulsive. I am not a picky eater. I love a cheap breakfast roll from a petrol station, a gourmet one from a specialist deli, and everything in between. This food was dirt. Also the coffee was completely stale and under extracted, tasted like the water ran straight past the puck. Probably for good reason. Service was confusing. I placed my order for a breakfast roll and was ignored completely from that point on by the person I ordered it from, who didn't ask about butter / sauces and who said yes, they do rolls (a lie). Someone else came and took my coffee order and payment. He was alright. Everyone was standing around confused as to where the q was, who was next, where to get service etc.

16/10/2025: Food and service was exceptional. Highly rate the sirloin steak on the hot stone and chips , lovely clean and spacious premises

14/10/2025: Good food and service priced well . Potato skins not as good as the last time I was there . Will be back again

16/10/2025: Myself and partner went in for early dinner. Staff was so helpful and friendly. Beautiful hidden gem in navan. Food was amazing top quality. Will definitely be back soon.

04/08/2025: The Gate is hands down my go-to spot whenever I’m in Navan. It’s the only place I trust for proper, freshly made food that hits the spot every time. The homemade soups are absolutely delicious, full of flavour and clearly made from scratch. I had the chicken Caesar salad on my last visit and it was perfect: crisp lettuce, juicy chicken, and the dressing was just right. Their wraps are always fresh and generously filled, you can really taste the quality. The service is super friendly and welcoming, which makes all the difference. You feel looked after from the moment you walk in. Whether you are popping in for a quick bite or sitting down for a relaxed lunch, The Gate always delivers. Can’t recommend it enough!

23/08/2025: Went here with my girlfriend and friend. It's a lovely cafe. They do very nice sandwiches and the bread they use is just georgous. They do amazing soup also. Definitely worth a try even if it's your first time because you won't be disappointed. Very friendly and helpful staff

24/08/2025: I love the southern style chicken box with the oreo milkshake! This is one of my favourite fastfood places ever. Last time it was emptier, less saucy, etc and the service was slow with two staff members (but this is very very rare), but Gabriela (I might spell it wrong) made my order perfectly (super saucy and cheesy), was super nice and offered great fast service. :D

05/08/2025: We stopped there for lunch between the visit of Loughcrew and Fore abbey. The place was quiet. We really like the decoration. We had carvery dishes as main, leg of lamb and turkey and ham. They were very nice, and so were the side dishes. That was very good. The deserts were not as good, still ok. The apple pie's crust was very soggy though the filling was nice. And why the plastic cup under the ice cream? Setvice was good.

13/09/2025: I got a sausage roll which was nice. My partner got a waffle with banana , and a tiny Dribble of Nutella. The waffle was stone cold so exchange it for a apple crumble, which was ok. Had to go back and ask for a refund. We also witnessed one member of staff handling food with there Bare hands while using the cash register and making coffees , so that was a Red flag. Staff are lovely Though.

01/09/2025: Super cozy, I discovered it while waiting for the bank to open. I need to comeback with the wife. Lovely shop and a very friendly girl served my tea.

07/10/2025: My flight out of Dublin got turned around due to a maintenance issue and we were put up in a hotel in Dunboyne late in the evening - the steakhouse had noticed several people in this situation and stayed open late to make sure everyone could get a hot meal. On top of that the steak, soup, wine, and sides were fantastic! Cooked a great medium rare and appropriately seasoned - the owner really helped turn a cruddy day into a positive one!

30/09/2025: I'm currently staying at the Dunboyne Castle Hotel for several weeks, and the steakhouse is just a short walk away, so I tried it tonight and I must say I wasn't disappointed. The service was friendly. The interior is fine; I ordered a 16oz T-bone steak, and it was cooked just right. The sides are okay. I would have liked to swap the peppercorn sauce for something else, but that's just how it is. All in all, I'm really very satisfied and will be visiting this restaurant again soon.

30/09/2025: A long overdue return visit. Fantastic. Great parking. Great food, brilliant staff, great service. Brilliant value for money. Brilliant atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

27/07/2025: Great to see a set menu option, shame a lot of it has a lot of supplements (feels like anything that's not chicken) Plenty of tasty food with loads of options for all courses, also big portions so won't go hungry Served quickly by super friendly staff Non stop people coming and going and groups of people so you know it's good Highly recommend

19/03/2025: Nothing available on the menu Arrived on Sunday at 2pm. I was given a menu and we both picked sandwiches. 10 mins later the waitress said “oh sorry we gave you the wrong menu. There’s no sandwiches available.” I then picked roast beef and was told there was “none left.” The menu is awful and 90% seafood which I’m allergic to so we had very little to choose from. I got my son chips as he was starving. The chips were disgusting. We won’t be back.

03/10/2025: The food is exquisite here. The vegetarian burgers, fries were amazing. The dessert was to die for.
