31/08/2025: We had the Roast of the Day: Delicious. A large potion of mashed potatoes. Friendly atmosphere. The two of us split that and the very good vegetable soup. We were both full.

15/08/2025: The food is lovely. The cakes are delicious. The prices are good. The flies are a nightmare but seasonal. The decor needs an upgrade.

11/08/2025: This is renamed to Navy with new owners. Staff are lovely. Definitely recommend making a reservation to avoid disappointment but staff were able to accommodate me for lunch. Food was delicious, and staff are attentive and professional. Lovely decor and atmosphere. It's a very busy establishment but run extremely well. I tried the Bay View, sweet potatoe fries and their slaw and it did not disappoint. Definitely will be back. Coffee is good too. Highly recommend a visit. If youre not local, there is parking a short walk in either direction or the bus stop is a short walk either.

04/09/2025: Had a gorgeous early bird Anniversary dinner here. The food is delicious and a great choice for an early bird menu. The mushroom sauce with the main was so good I nearly wanted to take a bath in it!!! When we got dessert they offered us a complimentary prosecco, but as we were driving, we got a soft drink each. A lovely kind gesture. Also they had a decorative plate with HAPPY ANNIVERSARY on it. We will definitely be going back. Thanks @Fifty50Ashbourne for making our evening special.

13/08/2025: A great Irish Pub. No food (you can buy it elsewhere and bring it in to eat), but a great atmosphere. Heavily populated by very friendly locals. We were there on a Wednesday, and treated to an evening of traditional Irish music with musicians coming and going all night. We made fast friends with Gavin and his wife who were celebrating his dad Sam's birthday. we could not have been welcomed more warmly or treated any better by all there.

11/10/2025: I was sitting down mooching loitering melt ashborune and a dog walks in barking and a kid is is crying over a stupid ice cream crepes we're to warm burnt me then I go to order and see that the line is out the door with one worker horrible to much chocolate on the crepes it's a really horrible shop and I hope it improves so on thanks xx

12/09/2025: The coffee shop is really cosy and clean. I loved the seats and coffee is great. Gelato also seems good. But I would like to say that the music was really horrible. I think a coffee shop in Ireland shouldn't be playing Latin American music. If it was Italian music it would make sense as Gelato is from Italy. But I think a sooth chilling music is the best for the atmosphere.

05/07/2025: What an absolute warm atmosphere. The smile when you come in and the cheerful service. Whats not to love about this small town lodge. Food is amazing, had the spicy chicken wings and it was just on point. In house chips with mayo sauce hit different.... You ahould try it. I give this place a 20 out if 10.

27/09/2025: I gave this place a 5 star review a few years ago but it's gone rapidly downhill recently. The last 3 times I've ordered takeaway from here it's been very very late. I usually collect it from the restaurant and there's always 4 or 5 others impatiently waiting for late orders too. Last night I placed an order on my way home from work. I allowed extra time because of my experience with lateness the last couple of times. My order was accepted at 17.52 and pick up time was in 35 mins. I knew I wouldn't get there until about 18.45 so thought it'd definitely be ready to go by then. I was wrong. I arrived and waited until 19.00 for my order. Another woman who was beside me said she'd been there 20 mins waiting and had people waiting in the car for her. It's really not fair to be so late. Especially when there's no communication with customers about it. If they called and let you know they were running late it mightn't be so bad but they never do. So you just arrive at the time it says and end up waiting anything between 10 and 40 mins longer. It's really bad service. And the food itself has definitely gotten worse. The dalh I used to always love is now very bland and tasteless. The rice is different and not as nice and all of the sauces seem oilier. It's just not what it used to be. I really don't know what happened to the place. It's sad. But I can't recommend it anymore and I probably won't go back.
