The best restaurants in Sligo

12/01/2025: First time trying food from here and I will admit I am very disappointed. Ordered from here for takeaway on the trial weekend and after travelling from skreen the whole way out and back we realised 2 of our items were not on the bag! I understand that they were probably busy especially with them only now offering takeaways but when you pay €60 for a meal you expect to receive the entire thing. Also we were unable to pay using a voucher but no reason given as to why but I suppose as not grateful for as now I have requested a refund for the items missing. The food also was nothing to be going mad about which again for a €60 meal I would’ve expected more especially when comparing the price to portion size. All in all I was very disappointed and again I do understand that given the circumstances with it being the trial runs for takeaways they were probably under pressure but I feel like a big priority is to make sure people are getting all that they ordered especially when unless you live in strandhill you are travelling a good bit of distance to get the food in the first place

03/02/2025: It was my first time to dine here. Nice atmosphere when walked in. We had pre booked for lunch. Food was super, lovely presentation and good size portions and very reasonably priced. Staff very friendly, our server was lee. Attentive and nothing was a problem. Will definitely be back

01/02/2025: Such a warm welcome, a lovely cosy bar and top drawer food!! hadn't eaten in here in awhile (I love the Bacon & Cabbage), and was in this week. The staff are all so chatty and welcoming (especially the legendary Ann - you won't forget her craic, if you meet her). It's a lovely cosy space with lots of little corners and snugs to relax and have a chat. All the staff on the night were extremely helpful and on 3 occasions staff asked if we were all good for everything! I only took a pic of the dessert, which was a Rocher Cheesecake. This place does food right. Good variety, proper portions, and well cooked. Located ultra centrally in Town centre. Beside taxi rank and shops.

16/11/2024: I went with my husband on the recommendation of a friend. We were delighted with the food, price, charming views and above all the great treatment of the waitresses. Easy to get to from the center of Sligo by taking the S2, For the best dining experiences.

01/01/2025: My husband, I and our two kids had dinner here on a Saturday evening. We had made no reservation due to having just arrived in the area but had phoned in advance to try book a table to be informed the restaurant was full but that there was a table available in the bar if we got there in time. I thought the man would offer to reserve this for us but he didn't. We were staying in mullaghmore having just arrived with no food for the week so gathered ourselves and dashed here with time running out in order to get food. We were grateful the table was available when we arrived and to get food. We ordered Chicken wings for starters to share at €10.50. No bones in them: very tasty and well flavoured though. We ordered chicken strips for our 2 kids (aged 6 and under) to share at €9.50. They were pleased and satisfied with this. My husband picked the Asian street food €20.95. This dish came with a warning that it was salty and it lived up to that warning but this was right up my husband's street and he was happy as it was also spicy with plentiful prawns. I settled on the Seafood pie at €20.95 with a chosen side of sweet potato fries. Piping hot, tasty and filling, I was more than satisfied. As the non-driver, I had a Glass of house red (cabernet Sauvignon) 250ml which I thought was steep at €9.30 (priced revealed when we ordered the bill). We also got Miwadi at 80 cents for the table which was reasonable. We asked for and were provided with colouring books and colours for the kids which occupied them. Overall, highly recommended for food which was tasty and reasonable which is refreshing these days.

12/02/2025: After visiting Sligo, I visited here for 2 consecutive days. The Korean food here is very delicious and the staff is friendly and kind. If you have a chance to visit Sligo, I recommend you to stop by and eat there.

06/02/2025: Was here when we went to Sligo for our anniversary and to say the food here is great is an understatement. The food is fantastic, they didn't hold back on the favours or spices, the meat was cooked to perfection and was falling apart. If you are a local I'm jealous that you are so close to here. Next time we are in Sligo we will be back.

10/02/2025: If you've ever wondered how to do hard-boiled poached eggs, wonder no more! The chef at Yeats has it down to a fine art; along with overgrilled bacon and sausage, dried out mushrooms and underdone toast. A very, very disappointing "Mini Breakfast" although the black & white pudding was ok - tasty, spicy and properly prepared. The service was equally disappointing - coffee just dumped on the table with no thought of milk (which we didn't want), no follow-up, no offer of more coffee (which we did want). And then the look of horror on the server's face when no TIP was given - priceless! One⭐for the coffee which was very good. One⭐for the little tubs of jam & marmalade (always a welcome touch) Probably won't go back.

07/02/2025: Feeling disheartened after our experience at Yeats County Inn in Curry. On Wednesday, we appreciated their participation in Sligo County Council’s initiative offering free hot meals to those of us still without power. The owner kindly invited us to return the next day. However, upon arriving around 5 pm on Thursday, we found a notice stating they had closed at 4:15 pm due to a power cut. Interestingly, the power was on, with lights visible inside, and neighboring establishments were operational. We even called today, Friday, to see if they were still offering the initiative, and they stated it stopped yesterday – how convenient. It seems they may have closed early to avoid providing more free meals. This is disheartening, especially during such challenging times.

02/02/2025: Had a gorgeous meal here last night with my cousins, it was the nicest food I have had out in a very long time. Fantastic service, great atmosphere and everything ran like clockwork. Highly highly recommended

30/01/2025: I've been coming to Davis' Restaurant for 23 yrs. I have never had a bad dining experience in it. The food today was stunning, fresh, just amazing. I got the grilled goats cheese salad and didn't leave a morsel behind!

02/02/2025: Really lovely weekend in the very family friendly hotel. The staff were so helpful and accommodating. Relaxed, homely feel. Great pool facility and fairy door trail for the kids. Would recommend for family stay 👍
