The best restaurants in Tipperary

04/04/2025: Just as other reviews have noted, we came across Mary at the Rock of Cashal and she suggested we stop in after our tour and it was one of the best choices we made our whole trip. The menu was unique and great for kids and adults and a fresh change from the Irish Pub food we had been consuming most of the week. Mary and the staff were exceptionally welcoming and engaging with us and other customers. Well worth a visit and check out the view of the Rock from inside.

23/03/2025: We were visiting the Rock of Cashel a couple of days ago and received a lunch recommendation leaving the castle from a very welcoming woman named Mary. Mary said the restaurant was just a couple minutes away and we wouldn’t be disappointed. Mary was spot on! Immediately walking in to the space you are welcomed into a beautiful atmosphere. Once seated by the host you notice the intentional decor on the table- milk, sugar cubes and wooden spoons with the table number. The food arrived quickly and it was absolutely amazing! The sweet potato soup and the mushrooms with cream sauce were delicious, definitely the best meal we had in our week stay across the country of Ireland. I highly recommend! I too, like Mary, know you will not be disappointed!

21/03/2025: Excellent quality service provided. Good quality food. However few items unavailable as listed on menu. Notably 1 on vegetarian dishes unavailable and NO cheeseboard available, which was disappointing.! Otherwise good experience, and would recommend.

22/03/2025: Great little place! We were in Cashel for a weekend and we stopped here three times. Best scones I've ever had, cakes were delicious, and the savoury brunch was also quite tasty. My partner had the avocado toast and it was absolutely loaded with avocado, not a tablespoon like in many other places. Service was good too.

13/03/2025: Lovely country style hotel, lovely rooms, hotel on square very cute view. Castle next door -- amazing 12th -15th century-- Bar food good, great pint, breakfast very good with super hot plates --enjoy Tipperary in a Great Value Hotel

12/03/2025: We had an evening meal here. The services were excellent. A lot of salt / seasoning used on elements of food, particularly starter warm bread. Perhaps more noticeable as we do not use salt at home. Meals we had were excellent...., BUT we still can not accept or figure out why a steak attracts such a high supplementary charge almost everywhere in Ireland.. I just can not figure out or justify this practice. The garden room is lovely but was a tad cool to dine in (We're not heat fanatics ), We overheard others comment re this also. Perhaps a fire effect heater might help. A lovely dining experience and meal overall.

18/03/2025: Not actually been in for drinks ect,but the food is delicious. I know a single man who gets a proper meal to take away . He says it is delicious, I have since seen several going out with their dinners. The staff were friendly when I collected one for him once.

10/03/2025: Same problem as always for me. We ordered fish and chips (which was nice) but when I saw what everyone one else had from their menu I should have ordered that instead. The other customers food looked lovely; I was jealous. The place is full of locals, visitors, farmers and workers from all around the area enjoying a great reasonabley priced meal. Must pop in again when passing through.

22/02/2025: Just had the most delicious gluten free meal in Jennys Kitchen. Would highly recommend. We left with a goodie box of 7 different Gluten Free cakes for just €22. Incredible value for money. Thanks guys. We will be back.

06/03/2025: Possibly the best fish I have had to date in Ireland, ever. Fresh fish cooked to perfection! Delicious!!!!! We recently went to a branch of this restaurant in Dublin and loved it so tried our local one!! The food was even better! Staff were fabulous and very efficient! We went on a Tuesday night so it was as expected a bit quiet! I had the mussels to start which were spot on, lovely sauce! Followed by the Cod, green beans and a cherry tomato 🍅, boiled new potatoes! It was so perfectly cooked 10/10. My wife had the scampi and said the were even better than the Dublin ones! I raved all evening!! No room for dessert. Pictures to follow! Favourite new place to eat!!!!! AMAZING THANK YOU 🙏
