The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and perfect for such a special family celebration. What made the evening even more memorable was the exceptional service. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming, making sure that every guest felt comfortable and well looked after. Organizing a gathering of this size can be challenging, but the Peppermill team handled everything seamlessly. We are so grateful for their hospitality and for helping make such an important occasion so special. 22/07/2026: We stopped in for a quick snack after leaving the Rock of Cashel. It is very convenient location at the edge of the parking lot, but also the lemon cake and whiskey cake were quite delicious.

04/06/2026: Had a fabulous mid week lunch here, 2 adults and a toddler. The turkey and ham was delicious, huge portions and reasonably priced. Dining area or bar seating options. Very family friendly, with lovely staff who included the little one in conversation(unsure on a changing area for smaller children but was able to change nappy in the spacious bathroom stall) Would highly recommend to anyone looking a bite to eat!

03/08/2026: My family had a meal at O Neillls For my daughter 40th birthday. From the minute we arrived we were looked after so professionally. The food was excellent and the service by Christina, fantastic. I would highly recommend this lovely restaurant. We had a great night.

20/07/2026: Disappointed, we returned a year later, and while the restaurant was still just as crowded, the dishes had changed. The regular version was exactly the same as the children's version. The price, however, was more than double. Far too expensive for what was served. The waitress, on the other hand, was very nice.

05/08/2026: We spent a few days in Terryglass and, out of the five days we were there, we chose to eat at The Derg Inn on four occasions, including breakfast and dinner each of the days - which says it all! The food was exceptional every single time: fresh, full of flavour, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. Every meal was consistently outstanding. The service was equally impressive. The Derg Inn is clearly a very well-managed restaurant and bar, with a team that is professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Every member of staff was friendly, courteous, and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The service and atmosphere are the standout features. It's warm, relaxed, and incredibly inviting, with a fantastic buzz throughout the place. The staff's friendly banter and genuine interaction with both customers and each other create a wonderful sense of community that made dining there such an enjoyable experience. We couldn't recommend The Derg Inn highly enough and will definitely be back the next time we're in Terryglass.

03/08/2026: Booked a table x 4 @ 7.30pm Sunday August 3. On arrival, told we had a 15 minute wait. Turned out to be 65 minutes, with no apology. Our order for seabass was taken, and 10 minutes later we were told it was unavailable, so a replacement main course arrived after a further 20 minutes. We ended up eating very late, and disappointed in the attitude of the restaurant manager. Such a shame, as we had excellent meals on previous occasions.
