The best restaurants in Tipperary

15/11/2025: We had our Christmas party here. Fantastic as always. Ambiance, staff, food all 10/10. We are lucky to have such a fantastic restaurant in our town!

28/10/2025: We visited in November the food was lovely with exception of chips which were very bad, there were like boiled potatos with one lucky properly fried one chip. I ate cezar salad which was ok Lamb shoulder which was delicious And chocolate musse which was nice but was to much crumble pieces for me and not enough of musse. My husband had beef carpaccio ( i hope i spelled that right) which was ok He had duck leg which was the most delicious duck we ever ate, and he had sticky toffee pudding which he said that was the best he ever has and he enjoyed the pudding a lot. The atmosphere was nice. Service was interesting...... As we entered we were seated in a bar area at the tiny table and we were given a menus and as we are there first time we were thinking thats it, thats the place, and we were puzzled how the plates will fit on those tiny tables -no one from staff mentioned that is the waiting area and we will be seated elswere later. . First time there we knew nothing about the place. About 10minutes later we were told that out table is ready and we were shown to bigger dinning room. The place was nice and clean. We were served by 2 different people which which from we got totally oposite vibes from. The lady in her 50s with no smile, with no hapiness that she did not like to be there. Not very welcoming, kind like she was in pain or something. At the end i believed that she was going to ask us if the food was ok but instead she said " the food was ok, right?" and she didnt wait for an answer from us, she just asked and answered her own question. On the other hand the male server in his 50s or 60s was a delight, smile, beautiful happy energy radiating from him. Very welcoming. After we paid our bill, my husband went to use a restroom and i waited in the hallway and this nice waiter noticed me waiting there and he bring me a chair to seat. Outstanding manners. We will return for sure

17/12/2025: Very pleasant experience. Lovely clean and comfy room. Breakfast excellent, cooked to order, not serve yourself buffet.

11/12/2025: The most established restaurant in Clonmel and it’s easy to see why. The owner Fulvio is a gentleman and his levels of consistency for 20 years is something to be admired.

25/11/2025: Stopped in as a halfway point on a 4 hour journey for a stretch of the legs and a bite to eat. We were made feel welcome the minute we walked in. We didnt catch the barmaids name but she couldnt do enough for us. She noticed I was watching a game on my phone and put it straight on the tv for me,served up thr finest pint of guinness Ive had outside my local, told us where the bathrooms and smoking area were in case we needed them, and chatted in a friendly manner throughout. She's a credit to the place. A friendly "hello" from the local customers was also nice. Food was super tasty and came in hugely generous portions. Steak sandwich is beautiful! Pricing is fantastic value. Will return for sure

18/10/2025: Day 1 of our 2025 Irish getaway: we received a warm welcome. We ate very well, it was truly generous! €80, including four drinks. Perfect!!!

13/10/2025: We stumbled upon this gem by chance, and what a find! Having been to China before, I can confidently say the food here is just as authentic and flavorful. We ordered the duck, and it was absolutely mouthwatering—truly finger-licking good. I’d rate it a solid 5 stars, plus a bonus for the experience!

19/11/2025: I came here with 27 people back in October. I am a guide and the group was booked in for a 2 course meal. The food was delicious, very fresh and full of flavour. The staff were fantastic, they really made us feel at home. John and his team were brilliant!

08/11/2025: Cozy pub with good options for food. Our group had a lunch deal of soup+main and all the food was outstanding. The services was fast and efficient.

20/11/2025: Pastries and cakes are delicious. Staff are friendly. Depending on day and time, it can be very busy.

16/11/2025: Absolutely unbelievable tomato soup. Best soup I've ever had and ever will have. 5 star. Michelin quality. Best sourdough bread ever aswell. Perfect.

16/11/2025: Had lunch recently, it was my favourite place to eat for a while. Something has changed. Roast of the day -beef was very poor quality and overcooked, tasted like a rubber,vegetables not seasoned very bland,crème brûlée it used to be served with scoop of ice cream and biscuits, none of these is served now. For what you get it's hugely overpriced, luch for 19€ and a bit of custard 9€. Only big plus on decorations but unfortunately food was not worth the visit.

03/11/2025: We had dinner her on Friday last, the food was excellent and the lovely attentive young staff were a tribute to the youth of Ireland. We have been coming here for years during previous management.The only thing lacking now is the traditional music night

11/12/2025: > I would like to share my recent experience with The Green. I was invited for a trial shift and the owner asked what time I would be able to arrive. We discussed the travel arrangements and he confirmed that accommodation would be available for me on arrival. Because of this, I purchased a bus ticket to Loughrea. A few hours before the scheduled trial, the owner cancelled the interview without providing a clear reason. Unfortunately, the ticket was non-refundable and I lost the money. I also sent a message asking for help with covering the cost of the ticket, but I never received a reply. Based on my experience, I found this unprofessional and disappointing, and I want to warn others to be careful when making travel or financial commitments before things are fully confirmed.

15/12/2025: Excellent experience here, very good food, prompt and welcoming service. In the middle of Cashel, easy street parking. It's worth deviating off the motorway. The Guinness is good. The pate was just right texture and taste.. Soup delicious. The plate of meat could serve 4 people and was delicious. Fish was excellent. Best tables for atmosphere are downstairs but it can get crowded. Upstairs is comfortable. Good people and would go back.

05/12/2025: We were recommended this pub by the hotel next door, we were in great spirits and looking forward to a nice drink. There was a really unwelcoming man working at the bar, told us “to go back to where we came from”. We swiftly left, and after speaking to a few staff members in the hotel, they told us “yes, they aren’t friendly to non locals in that pub” .. very strange behaviour, and should be more mindful of how near you are to a busy hotel, and be more welcoming and friendly to non locals, maybe even find a more pleasant and less miserable bar man to serve.
