The Green Sheep

07/06/2026: The green sheep is both beautiful and magical. Experience it and feel uplifted. Very special. Because I don't eat gluten I only got to eat a browney. It wàs yummy 😋

27/09/2026: Popped in cos it looked like a traditional Irish bar and I wasn't disappointed! A fantastically beautiful ornate and original place. Only had one bottle of beer but really wished I could have stayed and got mullered! Well worth a visit if yer in Thurles.

07/10/2026: Quite cheap, good road stop restaurant. The portion sizes are very big, I ordered their garlic cheese chips for 6 euro and got a massive plate full of big hot homemade chips. Great.
06/10/2026: Staff are nice, the place and the vibe is nice, but my fish and chips were absolutely shocking. I’ve had over done chicken moister than that fish, and both packets of mustard next to the ketchup had a date of 02/05/2022, which was a month ago, the closest thing to what came out of those mustard packets was pure diarrhoea :/

12/09/2026: This place is a gem - don't miss out! Delicious food, including for one GF eater, we were a party of 6 adults so we did a fair job of sampling the menu and no one was disappointed. The service couldn't have been nicer (shout-out to Greg!) and we left replete and very happy! Highly recommend!
17/08/2026: Excellent Italian food . Cooked to perfection with fresh herbs . Cannoli for dessert was exceptional. Service was also excellent , friendly and efficient. Price was reflective of the quality of food . All said, an excellent meal . Second year visiting here on holiday.

04/07/2026: Went there for breakfast and the shop was so inviting and the owners very friendly. The food was excellent quality and value. The coffee was delicious. The shop sold takeaway food from an extensive menu and also a large selection of everyday essentials too. They also sold ice cream.
There is no seating inside but plenty of picnic benches and tables and chairs directly outside on the pavement. I hope to go back.
29/06/2026: We stopped after passing through for brunch. There was lots to choose from all four of us really enjoyed what we ate our daughter said its the best hot chocolate she's ever had!!

01/07/2026: Great music night first Wednesday of the month. Great pints of Guinness and friendly staff. Pub is quirky and just like it was 50 years ago. Well worth a visit.

11/09/2026: Family of 5 for a few drinks one Thursday evening. This pub is well worth a visit, old fashioned and little rooms like sitting off the main bar add to the experience. Staff very good and friendly. Good stout.
27/08/2026: Big thanks to James and the team who helped host Day 2 of our wedding. They made everything so easy. From organising great food, music, amazing table service! We’ll definitely be back to Una Powells (our new favourite pub). Pints were unreal!
