14/08/2026: Okay so, this has been a dream of mine. To go to a proper Irish pub and drink a Guinness. It was great. Everything I ever pictured. It's cool to see the culture. I enjoyed every second while I stopped my Guinness at the bar. So I went back another day when it was pouring outside and I needed shelter. It was a little early so I went with the Guinness 0% and it was so tasty! I'm not typically a fan of non alcoholic beers but Guinness 0% is great! I didn't see food or notice anyone ordering food so I can't rate the food but the service and beer was everything you'd expect. Highly recommend!

01/09/2026: Restaurant located in a small, busy alley in the very center of Cork. Very friendly staff. Quick and efficient service. Very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed our mezze and kebabs.

31/08/2026: What a great find on a Sunday evening in Cork. The food was delicious, the service was prompt, the restaurant was clean & the staff was wonderful. Los trabajadores hablan español también. The atmosphere was very inviting & the price was reasonable for an elegant restaurant. The bathroms were clean too, which seems strange to mention but often bathrooms in restaurants are not so clean. If I had any complaint, it is the door was open, which let smoke drift in from the patio area. All in all, I highly recommend the restaurant.

30/08/2026: I absolutely LOVE pizza and make a point of trying it in different places. After reading all the glowing reviews about this place, I decided to give it a try. I ordered a 12" Four Cheese pizza. Well… calling this a pizza is being extremely generous. I was expecting something at least vaguely resembling a Neapolitan pizza. But, for God’s sake, this wasn’t even Roman-style pizza. It was basically a thin, shapeless flatbread with barely any topping on it. And the presentation? Practically non-existent. The pizzaiolo couldn’t even be bothered to make it look remotely appetising, despite there being absolutely no queue or rush. The pizza made for the man before me looked just as sad and unappealing. Honestly, this was one of the most disappointing pizzas I’ve had in a long time. There are SO many places in Cork where you can get a genuinely good pizza, so I really don’t understand how this place has received such glowing reviews. Needless to say, I will NEVER be coming back. Save your money and go somewhere else. I definitely do NOT recommend this place.

14/08/2026: We were treated very well, they were friendly and patient with our poor English, the food was delicious and arrived very quickly, the place was very comfortable, and the price was average for the local area, so we were very happy.

02/07/2026: My husband, 7 month old, my in-laws, and I recently stayed at Hayfield Manor for a short break of 2 nights. From the moment we arrived we were treated so well. The hotel made sure we had everything we needed for the baby, from the crib to a mini fridge in the room to storing our cooler ice packs downstairs. They also treated our baby as a guest rather than an inconvenience, which we appreciated so much, especially as first time parents traveling for the first time with our infant. We loved the rooms, the amenities, the grounds and gorgeous gardens, and notably: the food in the restaurant, which was incredible. We will surely be back.

26/08/2026: A wonderful discovery in Cork! We had a marvelous time at SpitJack for our daughter's birthday, and everything came together to make this occasion truly special. The welcome was particularly warm: a smiling, lovely team who were above all very attentive, paying real attention to our needs. We truly appreciated their kindness and the little touches that make all the difference on a birthday. And the food was delicious! Everything was wonderful, generous, and perfectly prepared. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and lively, while still being very pleasant for a family meal. A big thank you to the entire SpitJack team for their hospitality and for helping to make our daughter's birthday even more special. We highly recommend this place if you're ever in Cork!

26/08/2026: Nicest matcha. The staff are lovely and it’s one of the few café’s I’ve been to where the cakes are as much as an attraction as the drinks are. It’s also very comfy in there, which paired with the late closing hour, is great for studying.

26/08/2026: Unbelievable! The blackstone benedict was absolutely beautiful one of the tastiest eggs benedicts I’ve ever had. The coffee was lovely, and we even tried some of the cakes afterwards, which were divine. The staff were so lovely and attentive. This place is a hidden gem in Cork city, and I honestly can’t believe I’d never been here before. Well worth a visit, and if you’re vegetarian, you’ll be in HEAVEN 😍

26/08/2026: Gorgeous cafe in the gardens of the nano nagle museum. You wouldn’t know it was there from the street but it’s well worth a visit. It’s relaxing to sit amongst the garden. There’s indoor and outdoor seating. Not dog friendly. We had some coffees and cake. Cake was quite good, large portions but a little expensive. Good coffee

04/08/2026: Went for a 9:40 breakfast on a Tuesday and was pleasantly surprised. The place is small and a little down at heel (tables could do with a clean) but we got a friendly welcome and a delicious cooked breakfast. Great value for money and quick service.

05/09/2026: Starting with the positives: the service was fantastic. The waiters were very friendly and attentive, and the tiramisu is genuinely one of the best I’ve had in Cork. And honestly, that’s about as far as the positives go for me. The food itself is perfectly fine — I’d describe it as average. There are definitely better Italian restaurants in Cork, but there’s nothing particularly wrong with the food either. What really put me off, and ultimately means we won’t be coming back, is the restaurant itself. It is unbelievably noisy. I assume this is partly because they have squeezed an enormous number of tables into a very small space, with barely any room between them. I have no idea what the maximum capacity of that little room is, but when you’re sitting beside the counter, you can practically hear conversations from people sitting by the windows. Of course, it becomes a vicious cycle: because the background noise is already so loud, everyone has to speak louder and louder just to hear the person sitting opposite them, which makes the whole place even noisier. I actually left with a mild headache from the noise. Because of this, the atmosphere was completely lost for me. It’s difficult to relax and enjoy your meal when you feel like you have to shout across the table. Overall, the service and tiramisu were excellent, and the food was perfectly acceptable, but the noise level completely ruined the experience for us. Unfortunately, it’s not somewhere we would return to.

27/08/2026: Wow!! What a find Da Mirco Restaurant was! We were visiting Cork for a few days to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary and wanted somewhere to eat on our first evening, after a little research Da Mirco was the stand out choice and having now experienced personally, can categorically say that all the great reviews are totally justified! We had an absolutely wonderful evening, fabulous atmosphere in the restaurant, very busy but due to it's compact size still felt very homely and welcoming. The menu had a varied choice which took us some time to choose because everything sounded delicious........and it was! We shared a starter of Monkfish tails which were cooked to perfection and was one of those plates that you don't want to end! Followed this with two superb main courses, I went for pork loin, my wife had seafood pasta, both absolutely delicious! Finished the meal with a perfect Tiramisu. Coupling this meal with a nice choice of wine and being served by lovely friendly staff, made this whole evening one wich will remain fondly in our memory for a very long time. Thanks! PS.......If Hannah, our terrific server gets to see this review, please tell her we went for the infinity tattoos........she'll know what we mean, ha ha! :-)
