14/04/2026: My family and I enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Golden Elephant this week.

Son of a Bun
Cork
12/05/2026: I come from the beautiful city of Munich in Bavaria, Germany, where we also have great burgers — but for this burger, I would gladly travel 2,400 km again.
So, Servus da Wiggal
10/05/2026: I had the best chicken burger of my life here, the monthly special Chicken Cruncher was simply devine!! My mom and brother took other burgers and were also amazed by theirs! Oh and the mac n cheese!! Just simply WOW!!

Welcome Inn
Cork
16/05/2026: A friend and I visited from Canada, and found ourselves in this pub on a whim. We were immediately welcomed with open arms and loved the camaraderie between locals and the bar staff. We spent hours chatting, listening to music, and laughing alongside some of the best. Thank you Cork, we WILL be back!
05/05/2026: I stopped in for a quick half of a pint of Guinness after dinner across the street. Great service and amazing Guinness. Sláinte!

Paladar
Cork
27/09/2025: Wonderful cocktails, great music and ambience, and I cannot say enough good things about the people that work here. I celebrated my 30th birthday AND engagement here, and my fiancée and I were shown such incredible hospitality by everyone we interacted with. I wish I could remember our bartender’s name, he truly made the night special. It’s been a month since we returned from Ireland, and our night at Paladar is one of our favorite memories from the whole trip. Highly recommend spending your time and money here!
20/09/2025: The atmosphere was good but was pressurized to finish the dinner for the next customer. I understand the time limit on the table but since we sat down we were reminded on several occasions the time limit which made us feel unwelcome.

Proby's Bistro
Cork
04/01/2026: Lovely place for brunch with a unique menu. One of our party was a bit disappointed they couldn't get scrambled eggs with their breakfast, but they enjoyed their poached eggs all the same.
01/01/2026: Brunch here was stellar. The pancetta hash was savory and addictive while the ricotta pancakes were some of the best pancakes I've ever had! Great smoothies as well! Love that you can sit outside too. This is the place to go in Cork for breakfast!

09/03/2026: 5* food and service. I had the Carbonara and the kids had goujons and chips. It was beautiful and as I was rushing for the airport, they facilitated me super fast, I calculated 6 minutes from ordering to table!! Delicious and fresh, will definitely return.

The Fota Restaurant
Cork
10/05/2026: Fota Island Resort — Short Enthusiast Overview
Fota Island Resort
A large 5-star luxury golf and spa resort set on its own private island in Cork Harbour, Fota Island Resort is one of Ireland’s most complete “all-in-one” luxury estates — combining hotel, lodges, championship golf, and a world-class spa just minutes from Cork City.
Atmosphere
Think:
A modern Irish luxury island estate — green, spacious, and built around golf, woodland, and calm coastal air.
It feels less like a historic manor and more like a self-contained luxury resort village, where nature, sport, and wellness are the focus.
Why it stands out
Located on a private island in Cork Harbour, ~15 minutes from Cork City
Set across hundreds of acres of woodland and landscaped grounds
One of Ireland’s top golf resorts (championship courses, Irish Open history)
Strong spa and wellness reputation (large hydrotherapy and treatment facilities)
Mix of hotel rooms + suites + self-catering lodges for different travel styles
Signature experiences
🏌️ Championship golf courses (major tournament pedigree)
🧖 Large ESPA-style spa with pools, hydrotherapy, and treatment suites
🌲 Woodland walking trails and cycling routes across the estate
🏊 Indoor pool + fitness + wellness facilities
🍽 Fine dining and relaxed resort restaurants
🏡 Lodge stays for groups and families (full kitchen, fireplaces, privacy)
What enthusiasts love most
The scale of the estate (huge, green, and private island setting)
Golf-first luxury resort experience
Choice between hotel comfort and private lodge living
Strong spa + wellness infrastructure
Easy access to Cork while still feeling “away from everything”
Style & character
Compared with Ireland’s other luxury hotels:
Less historic than Ballyfin or Ashford Castle
More resort-driven than boutique manor hotels like Sheen Falls
More activity-focused than romantic “quiet luxury” properties
Best described as:
“Ireland’s flagship modern golf-and-spa resort on a private island estate.”
Best for
Golf-focused luxury trips
Families and group stays (lodges are a big draw)
Spa + wellness weekends
Active resort holidays (tennis, trails, sports)
Cork-based luxury escapes close to the city

07/05/2026: Did the Me & You couples spa package and had such a lovely day!
We started off with lunch which was delicious - chicken fajita bowl and an array of cake slices.
We then did the mud bath (which also includes an outdoor sauna), followed by a massage and facial. In between treatments, we were put into the relaxation room, which was lovely.
We finished all our treatments with some light refreshments. All in all, we were there from about 11.30-5.30, so I think we got our money worth.
All of the staff were really welcoming and friendly, from the receptionist and the servers, to the masseuses. Everywhere was so clean too!!
Really enjoyed this package and will definitely be back. I feel so refreshed!!

23/04/2026: Amazing food and amazing service. Lovely vibe and the waitress girl has a beautiful voice 🥰🥰
14/03/2026: Excellent take away - some reviewers seem to think this is supposed to be a restaurant and are giving it negative reviews. Ignore those dopes, it’s a take away and an amazing one at that !

The Kingsley
Cork
18/05/2026: Not too far from Cork city centre stands a beautiful hotel on the banks of the river. Rooms are of a good size, clean and beds are very comfortable.
Staff are lovely, professional and pleasant, and they can only bested by the food served.
Everything from the goats cheese tartlet through to the incredible beef mains was nothing short of exceptional.
To top it all off, a trip to the spa, including the outdoor heated (really warm) swimming pool.
Overall, a really pleasant experience, and worth every moment.
09/05/2026: Booked the Kingsley for our son's communion and I can't fault anything.. the staff were amazing and my son even got a communion card and dessert from the Kingsley for his big day.. will absolutely be booking with the Kingsley again. Fantastic day
