Cafe Spresso
Cork
17/06/2026: Delicious food with large portions at amazing prices, the French toast was heavenly and my buddy who eats like a horse could barely finish the small Irish breakfast. Coffee was perfect too!
01/06/2026: Called in today with a couple of friends for an Irish breakfast after running the Cork city half marathon. Have nothing but good words to say about this place. We were greeted by a lovely man who we had a great laugh with. Food was cooked & served by him in a timely manner and it was delicious. He had us all licking the plates clean! I cannot recommend enough!

Bierhaus
Cork
02/08/2026: Fantastic pub with amazing selection of ales and beers 🍻 highly recommended 🙌🏻🫶🏻
01/08/2026: I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Bierhaus, situated on Pope's Quay in Cork. As an enthusiast of both local history and fine beverages, I found this establishment to be a remarkable addition to the city's vibrant hospitality scene. Established in 2006, it has clearly cemented its reputation as a premier destination for craft beer.
The primary draw of The Bierhaus is, unequivocally, its extraordinary selection of libations. The sheer volume and variety are staggering, boasting over 220 beers. This includes an impressive 30 draught taps, with a commendable 24 rotating guest lines, alongside a cask option. It is a veritable haven for those seeking to explore beyond the standard offerings.
The curation of the beer menu is exceptional. It provides a comprehensive representation of Irish craft brewing, featuring independent producers such as Kinnegar, The White Hag, and 9 White Deer. Furthermore, the international selection is robust, encompassing everything from established European classics like Budvar and Erdinger to cutting-edge craft brands and a strong showing of Belgian ales. For those with a penchant for other spirits, the back bar also houses a very decent whisky collection.
What truly elevates the experience at The Bierhaus, however, is the standard of service. The staff are not merely servers but knowledgeable guides. Faced with such a vast array of choices, it would be easy to feel overwhelmed. Yet, the personnel demonstrate a genuine passion for their product and an impressive ability to direct patrons towards a beer that will suit their specific palate. Their recommendations are thoughtful and precise, ensuring that every selection is a successful one.
The atmosphere strikes a careful balance, operating as a dedicated beer specialist bar while remaining accessible to a more mainstream crowd. While the décor reflects a late-2000s US craft influence, with its long bar and brewery signage, the focus remains firmly on the quality of the beverages. It is a place conducive to both quiet appreciation of a complex stout and convivial conversation over a crisp pilsner.
In conclusion, The Bierhaus offers a superlative experience for anyone with a serious interest in beer. The combination of an unparalleled selection and expert, attentive staff makes it an essential destination in Cork. I highly recommend a visit.

The Fota Restaurant
Cork
05/07/2026: Hotel is lovely, the room was really nice & every employee we encountered during our stay was very friendly. Sarah on reception was very helpful in helping us get checked in & showing us around the hotel too, overall a great stay.
01/06/2026: Think closer to a 4 star than a 5 star. Breakfast on the first morning was only ok. Full irish was over cooked and bacon was not good. Service very slow. Reception woke us up at 10.40 looking for a credit card number. It could have waited till morning as we were staying 2 nights but when I suggested this they didn't see to agree. Being honest tho the foor in Amber bar was very good and staff were lovely.

The Woodford
Cork
09/08/2026: The food is very good and quite affordable. The service was a bit slow, but they take great care of their customers (they even brought us candy at the end of the service, a small gesture but a nice one). The atmosphere is magical. A truly beautiful Cork pub where we dined with live music (well, that's true). It happens pretty much everywhere, but I have to say that the guy playing, combined with the atmosphere, made the evening very enjoyable. The only complaint was that the air conditioning was on when it was twenty degrees Celsius; it was a bit chilly.
06/08/2026: Ive been drinking Beamish for almost 40 years. I was served by far the worst pint a ever got in my life. At least 30% of the pint was head, and trying to get the staff's attention to rectify it took a bit of time, as all 3 of them were engrossed in a private conversation, backs turned towards the customer's. This was at approximately 11.30 A.M. The Thomand bar on Malbro Street is by far the worst bar I've visited
Highly NOT RECOMMEND

St Lukes Wine Tavern
Cork
13/08/2026: I really wanted to love St. Luke’s Wine Tavern as we had heard such good things, but unfortunately our experience didn’t live up to our expectations.
We ordered a few picky bits, including the croquettes, which had a strange taste to them. The mozzarella sticks were also disappointing — they were a special, but unfortunately tasted and had the texture of something that had been frozen. The spicy meatballs were okay, but nothing particularly memorable.
I also ordered an Aperol Spritz, but the measurements seemed completely off. It was extremely bright orange and didn’t taste right at all. I asked for some extra soda water, but unfortunately it didn’t make much difference and I couldn’t drink it.
We didn’t make a complaint on the night as it was busy (ish) and we’re not really the type to make a fuss, but overall we left feeling quite disappointed. It’s a shame as we had such high expectations and were really looking forward to it.
13/08/2026: Fabulous experience. Food was great, service quick and friendly, atmosphere amazing!

Muskerry Arms
Blarney
15/06/2026: Warm hospitality, fantastic food, great value, and a memorable local experience.
We had a fantastic experience at Muskerry Arms Bar. The staff were incredibly friendly from the moment we walked in, creating the kind of relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that makes a pub feel truly local.
The food was absolutely delicious — especially the fish chowder and the Irish Stew, which was the chef’s special and genuinely outstanding. My wife had the burger that was loaded with bacon, cheese and excellent quality beef. All dishes were full of flavour, hearty, and exactly what you hope for in a traditional Irish pub meal. Prices were very reasonable too, especially considering the quality.
Our B&B host, Olwen, highly recommended the place, and she was absolutely right. It was also great to meet the owner and hear the history of the family behind the bar — a lovely personal touch that added even more character to the visit.
Overall, Muskerry Arms Bar delivered excellent food, warm service, and a memorable sense of place. A spot well worth visiting.
10/06/2026: Our most disappointing meal during our two-week trip across Ireland. One of us ordered the soup of the day with a sandwich, while the rest had the beef stew with vegetables. Unfortunately, the food lacked the care and attention you hope for when dining out. The stew was underwhelming in flavor, and it was served with what appeared to be plain packaged white bread rather than something fresh or toasted. The soup & sandwich was good but nothing to write home about. The service was friendly and attentive, but we left disappointed with the overall quality of the food. Based on our experience, we would recommend eating elsewhere!

Eat at UCC
Cork
16/08/2026: Wonderful place to visit : not often mentioned in city guide which is a pity because the park and the ancient buildings are very nice : either modern or ancient. Worth the 15 min walk from downtown along the Lee river.
11/08/2026: We took the guided tour of the UCC, and it was beautiful and interesting. We saw places off-limits to the public, the magnificent and astonishing astronomical observatory, and learned various anecdotes and curiosities!

16/08/2026: Most delicious asian food in cork hands down!!!!
16/08/2026: Lovely place, the portions are huge - you pay once and can feed your family a wonderful dish for a week 🤭 The menu is diverse. I personally appreciate the vegetarian options and the fact that you can change the spiciness of the dishes. Prices are reasonable for the quality and size. All the staff are very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere in general is very warm and welcoming.

The Kingsley
Cork
24/05/2026: Got treated with zero respect at all by the polish female waiter in springboard ,very ignorant to me and my partner, wouldn’t give any time to have a look at the menu and food quality was very very average 😂Didn’t even get offered any water but every other table did which we were completely judge by our age because we looked young would never be recommended to anybody who has money for nearly a 5 star hotel it’s a joke the way we got treated.
If you are looking for a nice and respectful place to eat then don’t choose this location 😅
18/05/2026: Not too far from Cork city centre stands a beautiful hotel on the banks of the river. Rooms are of a good size, clean and beds are very comfortable.
Staff are lovely, professional and pleasant, and they can only bested by the food served.
Everything from the goats cheese tartlet through to the incredible beef mains was nothing short of exceptional.
To top it all off, a trip to the spa, including the outdoor heated (really warm) swimming pool.
Overall, a really pleasant experience, and worth every moment.
