15/06/2026: Warm hospitality, fantastic food, great value, and a memorable local experience. We had a fantastic experience at Muskerry Arms Bar. The staff were incredibly friendly from the moment we walked in, creating the kind of relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that makes a pub feel truly local. The food was absolutely delicious — especially the fish chowder and the Irish Stew, which was the chef’s special and genuinely outstanding. My wife had the burger that was loaded with bacon, cheese and excellent quality beef. All dishes were full of flavour, hearty, and exactly what you hope for in a traditional Irish pub meal. Prices were very reasonable too, especially considering the quality. Our B&B host, Olwen, highly recommended the place, and she was absolutely right. It was also great to meet the owner and hear the history of the family behind the bar — a lovely personal touch that added even more character to the visit. Overall, Muskerry Arms Bar delivered excellent food, warm service, and a memorable sense of place. A spot well worth visiting.

10/06/2026: Our most disappointing meal during our two-week trip across Ireland. One of us ordered the soup of the day with a sandwich, while the rest had the beef stew with vegetables. Unfortunately, the food lacked the care and attention you hope for when dining out. The stew was underwhelming in flavor, and it was served with what appeared to be plain packaged white bread rather than something fresh or toasted. The soup & sandwich was good but nothing to write home about. The service was friendly and attentive, but we left disappointed with the overall quality of the food. Based on our experience, we would recommend eating elsewhere!

09/06/2026: Lovely food, service and atmosphere. Very well priced

09/06/2026: Very mixed review. Food was very good. Service was odd 😐 arrived in the door and one of the waiters was clearly very disgruntled. He was slamming plates, swearing, kicking doors. Wasn't exactly rude to customers from what I saw, but did make the experience very uncomfortable. The other staff were very apologetic and polite. We considered leaving but decided to give the benefit of the doubt. And as said food was really good.

06/06/2026: Great atmosphere, the outdoor area is very friendly. The musician was fantastic. Around €7 a pint.

03/06/2026: Dominque was an amazing bartender. Really enjoyed talking to her and trying out some amazing drinks! Irish stew was very good and filling. Had some saved even for breakfast the next day. Can’t wait to go back!

30/03/2026: Delicious food, great portions. Fantastic staff, who make good vibes. Plenty of healthy choice. Yummy 🤤 The soup was what I needed in a cold rainy morning. And the crunchy falafel, followed by home made humus and wine leaf rolls. Good location in a centre of the city.

13/05/2026: My favourite South-side pub! Pint of Beamish is still less than a fiver and I love how I can eat my Miyazaki takeaway food with a pint. Pub also has Iyer cafe food and loads of events, like analogue night, game night, and crafting night. Servers are friendly and sound! Always good music and vibes. Hope they bring the gelato back this summer!

14/09/2025: If you are willing to spend a bit more than the usual price for a breakfast, you can have a truly delicious experience here. Like chef-level type of experience. Not to mention that the place is spacious and luminous, the views are fantastic, the service is top-notch, and you can have a lovely walk through the gardens (and the nun's cemetery too). And learn some history.

16/10/2025: Highly overrated. I found this place in Google maps as we were visiting Cork and desperately looking for a quick lunch. We were the only people who ordered food at that moment, however, it took a while to get it. It looked like there was only one stressed-out lady at the counter and the kitchen. Tea and coffee came quite fast, but we waited for pancakes and omelette around 20 min. Pancakes were hard and cold inside and omelette with "salad" meaning rocket with two blobs of ketchup. And THE WORST: I found LARGE pieces of EGGSHELL inside.

12/10/2025: Had a lovely vegan sandwich here, the service was great and the value was incredible.

19/05/2026: Stopped by for drinks and Rory came by and recommended a whiskey flight. For someone who enjoys whiskey we had two whiskey flights (6) total whiskeys and we did not like any of them and specifically told Rory what we liked and were disappointed. If you like a specific whiskey don’t waste your time or money on a whiskey flight.
