Stopped in and immediately loved the atmosphere — authentic, welcoming, and full of local charm. The staff were friendly and quick with a smile, the pints were perfect, and the music and conversation made it feel like a true Irish experience. 12/10/2025: I'll keep this one quick. 5 Stars all around, fast, friendly and delicious. First night of our 8 day trip around Ireland and the hotel front desk raved about Son of a Bun. They were not wrong, we didn't need anything fancy, just good vibes and tasty burger and prefect fries to go along. When in Cork get the double patty with cheese!

20/10/2025: Staying over night in a nearby hotel and popped in for dinner. Mary our server was tremendous, she made us feel welcome which made the experience that much better. The food was also very good. Would definitely recommend!

20/09/2025: Restaurant has nice decor and good atmosphere, but food was severely lacking in flavour and quality. Chashu ramen noodles were too soft and the soup lacked flavour and depth. Ajiso platter was not worth the price. We asked for water and was told we could not get water due to it being yellow that day and if we wanted to drink something, we would have had to pay for it. And right when we were about to eat, they showed us the yellow water. Is the water not used for all the cooking and washing of dishes? If the restaurant has an issue, it should have been closed that day. We had checked out the reviews beforehand, so confused about this overall very disappointing experience.

Joe the waiter was amazing and made us felt very welcome
The food was incredible - we had sushi and steak and garlic rice

14/10/2025: Old Rustic bar in South Main Street, the City Center of Cork. Across from the old Beamish and Crawford Brewary, there's a lot of history in the area. There's a younger crowd frequenting it now, and they have some seating outside. The staff are nice as is the atmosphere.
07/10/2025: Nice pub. Good music. Not the best beer selection. Used to have real candles on each table with wax spilling over the bottle they were in, now changed for fake candles. It's a pity, it was part of what made it a cosy pub.
