The best restaurants in Cork city council

24/03/2025: Good bar although the staff can be sort of annoying constantly walking around the outside area to see if you want to buy another drink it kind of puts people on edge and its hard to enjoy a drink.

10/03/2025: I really dislike the QR code menus, not everyone has a smart phone and it's really not a nice way to start your dining experience staring at a screen trying to read an overly wordy & complicated menu. If the issue is saving paper, small chalkboard menus could be used - it would certainly force them to make the menu more concise & easily readable. As for the food, it is pretty good, but not amazing. (EDIT: that is great that folder menu is now available, this makes it much more likely for me to return - I hope they are replacing the QR code and don't have to be "asked" for)

25/02/2025: Yum yum yum! I love coming to this cafe at the weekends and always find it hard to choose between a sandwich and the pancakes because it’s all so delicious!

22/02/2025: Beantown Cafe on Model Farm Road is a great place to have lunch or breakfast outside of peak meal times. What I love: - Food is amazing. Beantown prepare fresh toasties with pastrami, ham and cheese, vegan, chicken, and more. My favourite is the Pastrami Melt: cheese and pastrami beef. They have a fine selection of sweet treats and protein balls sourced from local producers. They serve pancakes and bagels for breakfast. - Service is very fast. For a tiny cafe that draws in half the city they can serve pretty fast. I have never had to wait more than ten minutes for a meal. What I don't like: - Cramped. There is never enough seating for the amount of customers coming in at lunchtime. - Atmosphere. I find the seats and the outdoor dining areas to be flimsy and cold. If it's windy and wet outside then you will feel it all over the venue. I would recommend eating or buying a coffee at Beantown. Just don't expect to find a seat during peak times of the day.

20/01/2025: I visited in December. Sadly no cask ale on at that time. Good range of Craft Beer. Unfortunately it was very cold which masked the flavour.❄️

19/03/2025: A typical Irish pub to end a day's visit to Cork and its Jazz Festival. Despite already closing, they warmly welcomed us and served us with a smile. The decor is traditional and original.

09/03/2025: This place doesn’t take bookings so you have to wait for a table. Think it was around a 40 min wait for 3 of us. Once we ordered, the food came out quick and the service was good. I got the falafel burger with sweet potato fries and it was fine. Everyone else just thought the food was ok too.

24/03/2025: Good food, good location, great service, what more could you want? This café/restaurant is located in the courtyard of a former monastery, accessible via some rather steep stairs. But climbing them is worth it, because Good Day Deli is a true gem. The small and modern hut offers indoor and outdoor seating, and as it was a sunny day, sitting outside in the sun was the best possible option. The brunch menu is rather small, but I'd say you'll definitely find something here. I opted for the pancakes that come with a hibiscus poached pear and coconut mascarpone. Not a big coconut fan but in combination and moderation it was good, and the pancakes were great. Wasn't too impressed with the price of their coffee, though. I was recommended to try this place by locals and it was the very first thing I did after arriving in Cork. Go and try their brunch, it's really an experience!

23/03/2025: Good Day Deli is a great spot for a tasty brunch! I had the Turkish eggs with an extra side of halloumi, and the food was absolutely delicious—well-seasoned and perfectly cooked. The only downside was having to sit indoors due to the windy weather, and the acoustics inside made conversation a bit of a challenge since you had to raise your voice to be heard. Still, the food was worth it, and I’d definitely go back!

22/02/2025: Just visiting Cork for the day and google maps suggested this as the nearest cafe to my destination. I'm glad it did as I love supporting independent businesses and this is an excellent example. Tasty latte, delicious homemade baked goods, quirky cosy interior and friendly staff - what more could you want!

20/02/2025: A real gem near the Lough where you can enjoy a nice hot beverage and snacks served by courteous and helpful staff.

23/03/2025: I have eaten here a number of times over the last 2 years, with 3 other family members, & we are usually celebrating a birthday. The food has always been delicious, well presented & the portions are good. The service is excellent, with just the right balance of attentiveness. Almost as soon as we ran out of water or drinks, a server or manager checked to see if we wanted more. Every staff member who we interacted with was friendly, engaging & professional. I would recommend The Cornstore to anyone, especially if you like chateaubriand!!

23/03/2025: I normally love the Cornstore but recently went there and ordered the Cannelloni, the sauce was very sweet and it was almost like having dessert for main course. Chef needs to review this dish!
