Jacobs on the Mall
Cork
20/11/2025: Really nice experience. Fillet steak was fabulous. We had a large group and they looked after everyone really well.
13/11/2025: I plan and schedule monthly private dinners with my group of friends in Cork. Most of us loved our food and service was absolutely great, we loved our waiter. One of my friends however had an issue with her pasta, where it tasted overly salty to the point where she couldn’t finish it, we all tried it. Pretty sure something accidentally happened there but she relied on her side dish as her main meal. Otherwise would be back again!

The River Club
Cork
13/09/2025: The food at the restaurant (and the hotel in general) saved the weekend at this place. Service at the hotel lacks attention to details but certain staff members managed to save the night. Food was really good.
02/09/2025: My experience was like, are we on planet Earth or in another dimension? Everything was so perfect.
I loved the bar outside the hotel by the river, which was mesmerizing. I drank two Guinness beers, which is my favorite despite being in Cork, and they're loyal to Murphy's here.
The staff are always on top of things, and you're treated like royalty.
I highly recommend this hotel, and especially this bar, because it stands out from all the other hotels. All the best for your future.

Hi-B Bar
Cork
17/11/2025: This is a small pub in Cork City center but it is always busy. I stop here with friends for a drink every once in a while. The bar is always busy but there is a quick turnover. Some people go to this bar for a quick drink. There is only one bartender behind the bar and he is good with his service for everyone. He is fast serving people and mixing drinks. He remembers always what people are drinking and knows what people want. The pub has all kinds of drinks but I like that they serve Guinness, Murphy's and Beamish stout on tap. I enjoy Beamish because it is smoother than the others but it is great that I can choose. With hard drinks, they serve almost everything you crave. It will be nice to have cider on tap but they only have bottles.
Overall this is a nice small pub to enjoy a drink a nice time with friends. And I like that there are no phones allowed to be used in the pub.
07/11/2025: This is a must try place for a drink when visiting Cork. Set in the center in Oliver Plunkett street its like taking a step back in time. They have a strict NO PHONE policy which l loved as it stimulates conversation and a great atmosphere. The staff where friendly and the drinks tasty ... what more could you want.

The Friary
Cork
22/10/2025: The Friary is without question my favourite pub in all of Cork city!
Mike and his wonderful staff have a really unique vibe going on between the decor and their game nights. I guarantee you'll have a great time in the Friary and enjoy one of their wide selection of local beers on tap or in the fridge.
The Staff:
Mike is a brilliant Cork publican and he is easy to spot if he is there as he'll be the man with a brightly coloured shirt and long wavy hair. Both he and his staff have created a unique pub with a very casual atmosphere on the corner across from the North Gate Bridge where you will feel right at home with yhe locals.
Events:
There is always something going on between the weekly Wednesday quiz and any number of fun filled events that take place on the weekends. There is always a raffel after the Wednesday quiz and usually the top prize is either a Nicholas Cage or a Keanu Reeves themed pillow cover or t-shirt.
You'll definitely find something that will tickle your fancy.
Layout:
The main bar is on ground level with seating at the bar as well as tables and chairs along the wall. There is also additional seating upstairs however, choose wisely if its a Wednesday night as there is fierce rivalry between the two levels.
What I find a bit unique for a Cork pub is that the restrooms are located downstairs.
There is a small amount of seating out front of the bar which is lovely on a nice sunny day to enjoy a cold drink.
Decor:
This is a unique pub for Cork as it is decorated with everything that is Nicholas Cage! From movie posters to homemade 3-D printed heads this pub has got it all.
They regularly have game nights where new decorations are added to the walls and ceiling so what is there this week may have changed by next week however, Nicholas Cage remains a constant.
Drinks:
They don't serve the mainstream beers here but what you will find is a wide variety of local and not so local beers both on tap and in can form.
Personally I'm a stout and cider guy but I have come to love the Indian Summer beer and Kirin Ichiban beer along with the Stag Stout to name a few.
If you want someyhing a little stronger they also have a wider variety of local distiller's whiskeys, gins and vodkas so there is something for everybody.
Overall Opinion:
Over the years I've come to love many pubs in Cork but none as much as the Friary! It has a unique feel to it and they make you feel right at home.
I highly recommend stopping by Friary's for a drink of your choosing and have a good auld chat with bar staff and you won't be long making friends!
13/10/2025: We asked for some recommendations, and could try 3 different beers before we made a decision what beers we wanted. The guy behind the bar was really really nice and passionate the beers. Best pub experience I’ve had in Cork and would fully recommend!

The Kingsley
Cork
13/11/2025: A beautiful place located along the River Lee, with the added convenience of an underground car park. I stopped by the hotel bar with friends for a little break, and I would like to especially thank the Italian waiter (Adam, if I’m not mistaken), who spoke excellent French and offered us a warm welcome and impeccable service. Great coffee and delicious pastries on the top of it!
12/11/2025: Scenic views over the river Lee
Nice food but pricey

Bright Side
Cork
09/10/2025: Lovely little spot for a coffee. The service is very friendly and welcoming. Coffee always delicious. I docked a star for the Hallumi bagel because I just thought it tasted a bit odd with the combination of ingredients. It was nice enough but just a bit too sweet with the squash and the caramelised onion relish. I was a little disappointed I hadn’t ordered something else. Aside from that I do enjoy the setup of this cafe it’s bright and airy and nice to sit in.
18/09/2025: Great little spot with very reasonable prices. I ordered the Eggs on Toast. Bread was a delicious chewy sourdough and the eggs were fried perfectly with creamy yolks that were spreadable on the toast. Great breakfast for 8€. Staff is friendly and the interior is cozy and accommodating. Highly recommended!

Kielys Chipper
Cork
03/11/2025: Great customer service.
Chips are beautiful so fresh and crispy
23/10/2025: I have a severe allergy to both milk and gluten, I don’t eat out at restaurants in the US much due to this. Kiely’s made me feel so comfortable with their allergy protocol and listing allergens on their menu as well. The fish and chips were delicious and such a treat. I love how light the breading was and had zero reactions. 💜 I will certainly visit again before I fly back home.

Greenes
Cork
05/09/2025: Amazing place. We came here for dinner on Saturday night with my boyfriend. Very welcoming and friendly staff. We asked to change our table and were very grateful for a more comfortable seat. Food was wonderful. One of the best restaurants in Cork
31/08/2025: Lovely staff - friendly and attentive. Nice ambiance with a pretty, illuminated waterfall. Starters were tasty but mains were average. Fairly bland sea bass. Dessert menu was disappointing, not a huge selection and fairly basic. The cheese board was particularly poor value….€14 for 3 pieces of cheese and 3 crackers, a handful of cashew nuts, some bread and some tired looking grapes is too expensive. A party of four with 3 courses, a bottle of wine and coffees was €238.00.
