The best restaurants in Cork city council

17/10/2025: I was having breakfast this morning, I order eggs Benedict, and I think the rashers were cooked the last year. Be careful with the ingredients guys.. it's really annoying.

21/03/2026: We started with the sambuca prawns, which were genuinely delicious – a nice sweet kick to the sauce that worked really well. However, at €12.70, they felt overpriced for the portion size. My mum is coeliac, so she had the olives without bread as they don’t offer gluten free bread. It was disappointing to see there are no gluten free pizza options at all. She ended up ordering the spaghetti alla bolognese, which unfortunately was very oily and lacked flavour. I ordered the fusilli con gamberetti. While there were plenty of prawns, the dish itself was let down by the pesto completely overpowering everything else, making it quite unbalanced and hard to enjoy. We also got chips on the side (not gluten free). At €5.40, I expected something fresh, but they were clearly frozen and not worth the price. Service was also disappointing. The female host wasn’t particularly friendly, and one of the waiters came across as dismissive and unhelpful, which didn’t make for a great experience overall.

05/04/2026: They served the best tom yum soup I have had anywhere in the world outside of Thailand. Truly spectacular flavor.

13/09/2025: The food at the restaurant (and the hotel in general) saved the weekend at this place. Service at the hotel lacks attention to details but certain staff members managed to save the night. Food was really good.

02/09/2025: My experience was like, are we on planet Earth or in another dimension? Everything was so perfect. I loved the bar outside the hotel by the river, which was mesmerizing. I drank two Guinness beers, which is my favorite despite being in Cork, and they're loyal to Murphy's here. The staff are always on top of things, and you're treated like royalty. I highly recommend this hotel, and especially this bar, because it stands out from all the other hotels. All the best for your future.

28/01/2026: I have been here few times recently and food has been always great. Usually go for buttermilk burger but tried tikka masala and it was delicious🤤 It came with rice, naan bread and chips, decent portion and full of flavours. Much better than some Indians restaurants around.

05/04/2026: I visited this pub on Friday, I had heard this is one of the most famous Pub among the locals in Cork. So i visited here to make local friends and have some conversations. However as a foreigner it was hard to start conversation because everyone in this pub came together with their friends or family. So i just enjoyed a pint of Beamish alone for about an hour and just watched other people talk to each other. During that lonely time, A gentleman came up to me and started the conversation. It was really great and i was greatful for that. He came with his wife and they showed a lot of interest in me. My English is not really good, but they encouraged me all the times and wished me a good luck. The gentleman bought me a pint of Beamish as well. I had a great time at the Hi-B bar!
