05/03/2025: Everything was perfect and reasonably priced

02/11/2024: I Absolutely love Ross bakery. Collected a Togoodtogo today which was a lovely treat. But honestly I don’t have enough good things to say about this place they do amazing fresh cakes and bread, but also have a cozy seating area in the back for breakfast. We’ve been going since I was in primary school and I always look forward to a visit. Top tier breakfast rolls ;).

23/03/2025: Welcoming staff. I only ordered an americano as I was on my way to visit someone in the nearby hospital, and I was a little early. Both staff members bore lovely smiles and extremely courteous. After paying, I was told to find a seat, and the americano was delivered very quickly to my table. There were a number of young people seated around and talking quietly to each other at their respective tables. I noted that rolls and sandwiches had been served to several of them. The atmosphere was nice and quiet, and the welcoming warmth of the staff made this a pleasant visit. I did call in again and was met with the same warmth, although the customers were definitely medical students. I noted that some were using their laptops to presumably study. I would certainly use these premises again if I am in the area

25/02/2025: Best coffee in Cork city! When my parents came to visit, I took them to Brightside, and they were blown away by the quality of the coffee. I love their vegan breakfast options, the staff are always wonderfully friendly, and I would absolutely recommend to anyone who is perhaps a bit of a coffee snob - their drinks are incredible.

12/03/2025: At UCC Grounds and Campus illuminated with green lights for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day 2025. You mist also visit the Honan Catholic Chapel inside the campus where you can pray fervently and peacefully. The University offers diverse courses and postgrad degree open for all nation.

01/03/2025: An excellent university where only those with the brains to think and do their homework can get in, which is not as few and easy as some people think. I can't help but mention the hard-working students who are studying here, the difficult task they have because it's not a piece of cake, as they say in Portugal. Foreign students are a great help to the university because they demand a lot, but in the end it's worth it.

09/03/2025: We,( a Mom and teenage son)really don't want to post this review as by doing so we are letting you know of one of Cork City's greatest secrets , directly opposite the Train Station. We, by chance came across this coffee shop on the search for pancakes . OMG this find didnt disappoint. The pancakes on staff recommendations were heavenly and the hot chocolate was the best ever also the coffee was great. We were offered 2 or 3 pancakes, thank god we only went for 2 , HUGE portions Quirky venue with very friendly staff. Looking forward to our return trip .

20/02/2025: This place is a must stop during your visit to Cork! The place is friendly and warm, the food they offer is incredible, delicious dishes, gourmet and made according to the seasons. The portions are generous and the choices varied between breakfast and lunch. The pastries and pastries are fresh and delicious (the scones are fantastic). The staff is very welcoming and smiling, they take into account your various special requests which is very appreciated! We also tried their Tapas Night and what an experience I highly recommend. The Village Deli is a place not to be missed!!! (A little extra also for the garden center staff who run a very cute and welcoming store with lots of choice!)

18/02/2025: Ravens court has the best brewed coffee, and cakes. There is usually lots of parking.

03/02/2025: Mi amigo y yo vinimos el lunes 3 de febrero. Tomamos café y Tiramisu (ambos) . El propietario es encantador y conversamos con nosotros también. ¿Puedo decir que Tiramisu fue increíble, fuera de este mundo? Sin duda volveré a comer allí y conseguir más Tiramisu. Y el personal era encantador también, thx chicos xxx

19/02/2025: An absolutely wonderful experience at the Plaza. As always the food was delicious, we had the full fry and the pancakes but what sets the plaza apart from anywhere else we’ve eaten in Ballincollig is the service. From the minute we approached the door, Mary had two menus in hand and the door held open for our pram. She sat us in a spacious area and put the heater on for our new born and throughout the whole meal, Mary checked in to see were we doing ok and was so kind. We are first time parents with a 4 week old and to get that headspace and genuine care with a newborn meant the world to us. This will be our daughter’s first of many many visits to the Plaza! Signed two very grateful, tired parents. And to add the meal was affordable and great quality.

19/02/2025: Una experiencia absolutamente maravillosa en la Plaza. Como siempre la comida estaba deliciosa, teníamos las frituras completas y las tortitas, pero lo que diferencia a la plaza de cualquier otro lugar que hayamos comido en Ballincollig es el servicio. Desde el momento en que nos acercamos a la puerta, María tenía dos menús en la mano y la puerta se mantuvo abierta para nuestro cochecito. Ella nos sentó en una zona espaciosa y puso el calentador para nuestro recién nacido y durante toda la comida, Mary se registró para ver si estábamos bien y fue tan amable. Somos padres primerizos con un niño de 4 semanas y obtener ese espacio libre y cuidado genuino con un recién nacido significó todo para nosotros. ¡Esta será la primera de muchas muchas visitas de nuestra hija a la Plaza! Firmó dos padres muy agradecidos y cansados. Y para añadir la comida era asequible y de gran calidad.

13/03/2025: The Raven is simply great, it's probably (certainly) my favourite bar in Cork. The food choices are literally all mouth-watering - they're a little alternative for your usual bar, which is all the better as there will always be something on the menu that you will enjoy. The service is wonderful too, and paired with a creamy Beamy, some laid back R&B music vibes, and the wonderful indoor decor, this is the perfect place to spend any evening!

07/03/2025: Looking for a place to catch my breath and check my mails. Found this little gem... good coffee and lovely warmed up ham and cheese croissant- all be it a little cold in the middle.. 😉 And the 5th 🌟 - atmosphere, chilled and clearly a locals hangout.

21/03/2025: Coriander is the best Indian restaurant in Cork, if not Ireland, that I have come across. The food is excellent here, with vegetarian and vegan options available, and also really flavourful. The staff are so nice as well!

28/02/2025: *Disappointing Experience at Coriander - Rude Service and Poor Attitude My wife and I, along with her family friend, visited Cork, Ireland, for a short trip from England. We decided to try out an Indian-Nepalese restaurant called Coriander, which we found on Google Maps. Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant, and I feel compelled to share our disappointment. We called ahead and reserved a table for four just five minutes before arriving. Upon entering, the restaurant was nearly empty, with only four tables occupied, including ours. A young man handed us menus and said he’d return when we were ready to order. When we called him back, one of our party wasn’t ready, so we politely asked him to come back later. Five minutes later, we were ready to order, but this time, a different waiter with a beard approached us. His attitude was immediately off-putting. My wife, who was feeling unwell with a cold and flu, requested a room-temperature soft drink. His response was shocking: “You guys can order hot drinks, why do you need a soft drink?” This was not only rude but also completely unprofessional. We were taken aback by his dismissive and condescending tone. When we ordered the lamb chops, he didn’t bother to explain how many pieces would be served or provide any details about the dish. His demeanor throughout the interaction was cold and unwelcoming. It was evident that he didn’t want us there, as he seemed much happier and friendlier serving the local Irish customers. This double standard in treatment was both noticeable and unacceptable. To make matters worse, the restaurant’s signage outside prominently displays “Indian Restaurant,” but the staff’s behavior made us question their respect for the culture they’re representing. It felt misleading and, frankly, disrespectful to use the Indian title if the staff harbors such attitudes. The waiter spent more time on his phone than attending to customers, and his overall behavior suggested he was doing us a favor by serving us, rather than treating us as paying guests. The lack of basic courtesy and professionalism was astounding. I cannot recommend Coriander to anyone. The service was appalling, the attitude of the staff was rude, and the overall experience left us feeling unwelcome and undervalued. Save yourself the disappointment and dine elsewhere.
